The hotel has many bungalows , spread in a lush forest to host the guests, and a terrasse above the river Kwai to eat and take a drink, besides other restaurant and bar facilities. Rooms are a bit used, but neat and spacey . The garden is beautiful , they have 2 smaller neat pools and a large moat in the park. A la Carte Food was good and tasty. We did not like only 2 orders, first a glass of fresh orange juice for 100baht, was max 80ml and certainly at 35°C , and a glass of redwine , max 70 ml for 160 baht , that was really not a good deal. All other food and drinks were good.
Best at this hotel however is the Elephant sanctuary and Elephant museum, they host. Somboon legacy is a truely ethical non commercial Elephant sanctuary , and visitors receive a lot of information, and can watch and study the 2 almost free sweet elderly Elephant Ladies, but it is a hands free experience , the Elephants are not bothered by any of the guests and visitors . Keep in mind , no hand feeding , no riding no bathing of the Elephants, only watching :-). A truely beautiful, and sustainable concept. The Elephant sanctuary pays off for any visit , it is a must have experience in Kanchanaburi region.

Loved my little stay at this hotel. The rooms are grouped in pairs in pretty bungalows scattered throughout the vast park. Comfort is very simple, but the environment is absolutely charming, and in reality, nothing is missing. We are awakened by birds, it is beautiful.
The restaurant by the river and very nice.
A nice step for a very moderate price

We were a couple travelling to kanachanaburi booked with RCI being a club mahindra member paid only Rs.7200/- for a 7 night stay at the legacy took a cab to reach destination as wasn't sure about the quality of the bus we paid 1800/- Th baht .Being an indian we have better choices to stay in isolation than going all the way to Kanchanaburi. When we reached the property it was as read in other reviews very far from the city.It was crowded in the lobby with 2 or more groups of tourists mostly from companies in and around thailand also there was a group of kids who were roaming around for the whole day. We got a room on the third road of the resort which was around 600 mtrs from the lobby. There is trasportation withing the resort in the form of 8 saeter tuk tuks(good ones).we were too hungry so we reached the lobby for lunch only to find that the buffet is for the groups only costing us 250 baht per person but it was already over.We ordered al la carte as there was no other place to go.The food we had was thai as american food like burger and different kinds of fish were around 250 baht a dish.Thai food being local is cheap and we had around 4 meals in the hotel with the bill coming up to no more than 430 baht for 2 without alcohol but with soft drinks.Coming to the room part the rooms are nothing special but the photos shown in trip advisor are very old the room had a 165 ltr refrigdrator a microwave and very big electric kettle a toaster and a 32 inch lcd tv with usb connectivity and hdmi ports and also a dvd player which have not been mentioned to us while booking.beds were good comfy towels very old and used numerous times faded, toilet clean but very old tiles there should have been a store in the resort which sells essentials like milk bread cup noodles like in all club mahindra resort but that shop was closed some as per reception attendents.Staff is friendly but does not understand english there are 2 persons in the hotel who know bit of english lots and lots of insects can be found including black ants in the room mosquitos in the reception lizards are free to roam anywhere about a 100 can be found around the reception and dining areas.wifi is free in the lobby and give decent speed also there is a desktop pc free for use one way trip to town is 500 baht no pick up or drop is offered free to or from the city.Email me for more details also let me know if the review was helpful

The resort has a lot of big lovely trees and Kwai Noi River is We stayed in bungalow with 2 rooms with connecting door. We can park in front of our bunglow. All facilities are good in the room. There's a bicycle for rent and our kids enjoy riding a bike. There're sheep with fresh grass to feed in the morning. In the afternoon, Elephants are walking to taking a bath at Kwai Noi River. Food are organic and delicious. Rafting along Kwai Noi River is really good. There will be a tram from resort picking you up at the end of rafting, and you can see the farming and local scenario along the way back to resort.

Legacy River Kwai is a resort which really allows the customers to enjoy nature. One of the resort’s biggest strengths is that it allows the customers to enjoy nature while also being comfortable, this includes good food, comfortable rooms and all around good service. This is in contrast to places like national parks where we have to compromise comfort for nature. This resort does both very well. This resort has many fun activities to do, these include bamboo rafting, biking, bird watching and more. These activities really allow you to enjoy nature and personally helped me to reach a deeper understanding of it. To conclude, I feel that this resort has helped me to appreciate nature and also allowed me to enjoy fun activities.

The resort is wonderful greenery. We went Bird watching and saw over 20 species within a short time showing how well preserved the area is. The accommodation is very nice with space between each units so that it always feel calm and peaceful. My son enjoyed the bicycle ride and a rafting down the river with his friends. The Elephant sanctuary is a good idea for the retired elephants. Good thai food. Great for family outing within a short 2 hours ride from Bangkok.

We stayed here second time already. The resort is full of tall big tree you can feel very close to nature. The land is located along Kwai Noi river and we can enjoy river view and walking along the river. Room is clean and adequate. They also provide bicycle for rent and rafting service both of which are very good activities for family. They teach organic vegetable farming and selling organic plant, soil and fertilizer. Their food is also very good. Plenty of good food for breakfast and a la carte asian food during the day. Family of all ages can have real good time together here. Highly recommended!

The resort is big! Bungalows are spread out over the property giving you peace and privacy. My favorite was looking out my window and seeing an elephant (!!). The resort is a nice getaway from busy Bangkok and all its noise. Here you can listen to the birds, geckos and other animals.
Staff are all very friendly and always had a smile. There’s a pool and spa area, which is a nice place to relax in the afternoon. The resort’s main building has a little cafe area plus restaurant. The food was always good and at a reasonable price.
Nearby attractions are Erawan Falls, temples and the River Kwai. The resort can help arrange transport.

At the legacy river kwai resort was all nice. there are lots of activities there just for example bird watching and also rafting which was really great. but one of the favourite activity I like the most is probably biking because the road in the legacy is really a great place to go biking while biking with my friends we get to enjoy the view and not only that we got to see sheeps and retired elephants walking.

At first I thought that from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi would take a lot of time but actually it wasn't at all it was 2 hours from bangkok. It was really worth going there because it is actually a place where there is a lot of trees and good for relaxing and not only that the food there was really good they have a lot of types of food. So for me I would highly recommend anyone to come to the legacy river kwai it's worth going there

The resort is just two and a half hour drive from Bangkok. It got impressive abundant nature with many big trees, singing birds, beautiful butterfly and slowly flow of river Kwai. A good place for relax. I enjoy spending my holidays with family and friends. My kids very much enjoy biking, rafting and swimming in the river every days during our visit. The villa rooms are newly renovated and equipped well for comfortable stay. It is spacious and clean. The service staffs are helpful.
