Was really nice…. a long time ago? This was a very strange experience. The Comsaed appears that it was once a bustling and lively resort, with amenities for many guests, stalls for vendors to set up, bars located throughout the resort property, lovely pool…but aside from one other family, another couple, the staff, and several monitor lizards walking about, it was deserted! There were no vendors or bartenders at the empty bar areas, hardly any guests. Maybe it was the off-season? It was odd. The room was clean (though dated), the staff was accommodating and friendly, the food was decent, the pool was clean and refreshing in a lovely setting. Just strange to be in a big resort with hardly a soul.

I went to have seminar with the company. This place made me surprised ...it has huge space around 100 rai. Surrounded the hotel with most white colorful environments.
There is long river and water fall at the back of hotel. Second level swimming pool was there.. nearby luxury Spa .... I went there three times after that it's very very impressed me..ahh..
Breakfast and lunch was fantastic with Thai buffet and coffee bar was great as well in front of charming lobby. For other relaxing there is big one tennis court opposite the resort.
By the way this trip was really great!

My colleagues and I went to Comsaed to hold a 3D/2N seminar for my client. Altogether there were about 50 persons.

I stayed in a standard double room with my friend. The room was pleasant, thought the water pressure was not good. And I needed to press the shower button with my toe all the time or the water wouldn’t come out well.

Two best things about Comsaed are its spa and the hotel surrounding. We enjoyed sitting and chatting by the Kwai river. The hotel area occupied one of the best spots by the river Kwai. Anyway, the current was too strong to swim. But we didn’t care because three gorgeous pools quickly became our latest obsession.

The food was really really good. They served both western and local food. There’s also a karaoke room to have fun after dark.

The staffs were very polite and friendly.

The structure is crazy, completely immersed in greenery and on the sides of the river. Wonderful pool and very large rooms as well as the bed. Free bicycles and you can also take a canoe. What I didn't like is the very isolated location and the breakfast.

This is the most horrific hotel I have staid in my whole life.
I had to carry my own bags. (short of staff after holiday, we check-in on a Monday)
Front desk did not understand English (my fault, I should have learn Thai)
The room was big but old, musty. the bathroom nasty...very old and moldy. 2 towels with holes and smelly.
Breakfast...a joke...nasty.
Besides, the hotel is 18kms (12miles) from River Kwai center...if you are planing for quiet time, this is your place...if they upgrade and clean up.
Never again.

Agreed with the previous review, this hotel has no service whatsoever. Yep they only look after the group tour, if you come here on your own and witouth transportation, you are very much F#%. The food was horrible, super tiny portion and not cooked properly. I'm staying here tonight with my friends, 4 of us still a bit starving cause the kitchen can't serve food for small group. We tried to talk to find their manager, but of cause they are trying their best to avoid to talk to us. Find somewhere else with better review, avoid here please!!! If you insist to stay here, do bring your own food.

I traveled here with company tour group, it was fun and full of enjoyness. The raft trip was so good that I could swim in the small river, the surrounding was superb with jungle like you were in the forest. I like this place.

Planned on staying here for three nights and on arrival we were sure we would as the grounds were most impressive. However, from that point on everything was downhill.

When one spends 3000 baht for a room in a mostly empty resort in Thailand one might think the plentiful, underworked staff might have time to air out rooms for guests. Not so in Comsaed, where an overwhelming mustiness greets the room's entrants.

The food in the restaurant was close to inedible. The drinks were overpriced. There was a grim torpor hanging over the place, with, quite literally, five workers to each guest, at least. No doubt this place is on the way out of business, not that the resort's management are attempting to remedy this in any logical way.

The resort is around 18km from downtown Kanchanaburi and because the resort was so dead and playing what sounded like folk songs from the Chinese cultural revolution, we decided to go into town for a few post-dinner drinks. We paid 1000 baht for a return taxi. The hotel knows it is isolated and so it charges obscene prices knowing guests have to pay them or else die of boredom in a bar that resembles a set from the film The Shining.

The next morning we discovered our shower pumped out black water, and that there was no hot water. So even if we wanted to bathe in something Sauron might wash himself in, it was too cold to do so. Plus the showerhead was broken and leaked water about as forcefully as an octogenarian with gall stones.

The television didn't work, either. It didn't even turn on.

The next day, an attempt to have the room reduced in price by 500 baht was met by a multi-party conference, in Thai, about whether this was possible. At first it was met by laughing, but when it was pointed out to the staff that we paid 3000 baht per night for the things that weren't supplied the penny started to drop. They did indeed drop the price 500 baht...and then extort us for that same 500 baht when we realised the only way out of this gulag was the hotel's private taxi.

Avoid this place at all costs, unless you hate your spouse and wish to trigger the onset of marital breakdown.

I was in November 2012 here with some friends.
I loved very much the colonial architecture of the reception desk and restaurant.
The surrounding landscape is full of green trees and flowers and the Kwai river. You may enjoy peaceful walking in the morning and evening.
The rooms are clean but a little bit "old smelling", probably due to the humidity.
Breakfast was well, also the food in the restaurant.
The location deserves to stay here for a few nights to relax.

An unpleasant and over-priced experience that we wouldn't want to repeat. We booked ComSaed after reading their glowing promotional spiel, seeing photos of the gardens and what looked to be a modern villa as their lead photo - wanting a quiet, peaceful country location.

Impressive garden upon arrival, until you look up close and realise all of the buildings are very tired. The "villa" in their shots is actually a rotten, infested, abandoned information building near the entrance. The real villas are badly in need of repair and modernising (particularly for the steep price by Thai standards), with two of the main lights in our room out of order (exposed wires were roughly covered in electrical tape) and mould on the walls. Entering the room, we were hit with a combination of stale cigarette smoke and mould (they claim to be "smoke-free"). The room was small, for the two adults and two children we'd booked in advance. The bathroom was grubby, with a full-height window at one end that looked onto a private garden with plastic cups and cigarette butts discarded in it. Water pressure is non-existent, and tepid at best.

Throughout the stay, a blaring sound system played a mixture of Thai music with a heavy bass beat and what can only be described as screeching karaoke (so no peace and quiet in what was otherwise a beautiful riverside location). Food in the evenings was only served in the garden, with the restaurant looking very unloved - and a hefty buffet cover charge for the same, recycled and overcooked drudge every night. Oddly enough, they provide a kettle and coffee cups, but no tea or coffee and a sign telling you not to bring your own food.

I ordered two mixed drinks whilst there and the alcohol is more expensive than in Bangkok bars, but for tiny measures of poor quality no-name substitutes. Breakfast was of poor standard, with overcooked local dishes and slop that even the Thais looked disappointed with.

The swimming pools looked great from a distance, until we discovered that one was covered over (it's lack of use evident by the three small trees growing through the cover) and the other two were full of greeny-brown muck instead of the crystal clear water one might expect. When we raised this with the manager, he didn't seem to understand why no-one wanted to swim in them!

When checking out they tried to overcharge us, with an all-staff conference ensuing and an hour spent before they eventually amended the bill. Whilst waiting, I noticed they'd proudly displayed a series of "green" environmental awards ... which I can only assume was in reference to the colour of mould in the rooms or their algae-laden pool water.

All in all, for the semi-luxury resort ComSaed claims to be, I've stayed in far better quality youth hostels for about 10% of the price.
