Detailed Reviews
A big beautiful resort on the banks of river Kwai and resort is having a perfect view of Iconic rail bridge and also a walking path reaching one end of bridge.
Rooms - go for river view rooms only, on first floor they got the best view and privacy, Building G and F have perfect river view (we stayed in G-223).
Resort - big, very green and clean resort. a bit far (3 kms) from the Main market of Kanchanaburi town and night market. you need to rent a bike or car to commute then its a perfect place to stay.
only disappointment is breakfast, very limited selection, hardly 10 hot items to choose from.
this was our second stay there.

This hotel lacks the basic service that a four star hotel requires. The infrastructure is in place for a good hotel but it is neglected by perhaps a too small work team or a lazy work team. Small tasks such as towels by the pool, ash trays being emptied etc. are not done and have to be requested. The resort overall is a lovely relaxing place, the pool is lovely and has a river going round with bridges. I do not think the resort is ‘too big’ as the other reviews have suggested, not accessible for someone with wheelchair needs but if you are able to walk without assistance you will be fine. The hotel can call a taxi for you in town, which can pick you up as well, this is about 400bht for a return journey. For the price payed this hotel is adequate, however I would say it is 3 stars rather than 4, due to the lack of service.

I travelled with Intrepid Travel and stayed at the Felix River Kwai Resort from 18 to 20 January 2020. It was my favourite hotel on the 10 day trip. My room was on the first floor in a lodge style building with all the facilities, and a balcony overlooking one of the two swimming pools. The resort is lovely with beautiful gardens near the River Kwai. Both pools are a good size and great for swimming or splashing about. The group ate both days in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner, which we enjoyed and there was plenty of choice. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for three nights as a family in March 2020. The setting of the hotel by the river is really lovely - huge grounds and a nice walk by the river aroudn the low rise room villas. We saw plenty of wildlife as we walked to and from breakfast each day.
The main swimming pool is really good and spacious and there is also a further 'serious' pool closer to the river. The rooms are spacious, if showing their age a little bit now. There were two chairs with cushions inside the room and two further plastic chairs without cushions on the balcony outside.
It is possible to walk to the bridge fron the hotel - it is only 10/15 minutes away depending on where you room is situated in the complex. Otherwise, it is quite a drive to to the 'other side' of the bridge around the tourist area.
The staff were always friendly and the breakfast was good.

Beautiful hotel with a magnify garden along River Kwai . Located in the center of Kanchanaburi.
I booked Royal Suite as a gift for my mother birthday. Its our first time in Kanchanaburi and at the hotel.
This is what happens,
On arrival, no greeting, no welcoming to the hotel and not even a welcome drink. After check-in receptionist just give me room key and say nothing. ( I assume that he want me to go to room by myself ) I have to ask, if there anyone to escort me to my room.
Receptionist does not explain well hotel’s facilities and room’s facilities, not even tell me where to have breakfast.
When I walk to room, no one offer help to carry my mother’s baggage and she is 69 years old !!!
I wrote a letter to to GM explaining what had happened.
Thank you Khun Nantawat Petcharak, Who take fast action and immediate response to explain the situation to me.

Hotel in a nice garden along the river Kwai. Can be used as a stop on the way to Erawan park. Food was fair.
One word of caution to avoid ruining your stay: don't use their laundry bag to pack your dirty socks because the hotel considers the bag is their property and will charge an exorbitant 800 bahts ($25) if you take it !

We stayed here in the aftermath of the pandemic so certain things were probably impacted by that (no 'life' at the hotel, extremly poor breakfast, nothing to do) but the main problems need more to fix. The hotel facilities (rooms, common areas, sport areas) are quite old, half-broken, unkept etc. The same goes for all the appliances, sport equipment etc. It is on the river literally and the mosquitos are deadly! There was no shuttle from the hotel to anywhere and although it seems close to the center it is not. If you do not have a car the local taxis will make you regret it.

The hotel turned off airconditioning in lobby and restaurant to safe money, which was uncomfortable to eat so we decided to eat outside. My questions why the wifi wasn’t working went unanswered and they were unwilling to see if it could be fixed. The hotel is getting old with maintenance really needed. All in all a bad experience, the pictures on Agoda must have been taken years ago. Waste of money and time spend.

Although we did not stay here, we came for lunch and it was fantastic. Both the standards of the food and the service were amazing! The courses ended up with absolutely fresh fruit and juice. Then we could join our friends who were lucky enough to be staying at the Pool which was also Paradisal.

Lovely hotel
Great Staff
Good(ish) Location
If you done want to walk over the bridge in the dark, it will be a taxi or long walk back from the Main Street in town.
This hotel was in a perfect location, next to the river with a (closed) restaurant overlooking the bridge itself. The hotel was empty as was Kanchanaburi. This was clearly the effect of the pandemic. The building is clearly dated and needs some maintenance but it was still nice. There were two rooms booked as part of our trip. My room was good however there was a significant amount of mould on the shower curtain. Other than that, I had no issues.
The walk in to town across the bridge takes around 10mins however if you were to use the road, it would be more like an hour. The bridge is safe in the day however not so much when it is dark. We had to do it as we couldn't get a taxi or grab after we went out for a meal.
Overall, nice hotel, good location but needs some maintenance / updating.
