We stayed there during Christmas, the weather was cool at that time which is the best time to visit Kanchanaaburi. For the resort, don't expect five stars treatment. But for the price comparing to the view and the room I think it is worth paying.
We decided to stay at the rive raft room because of our 6 yr-old daughter request. The room is quite big, there are 3 beds for us. For the view, it was spectacular. We saw river of fog in the morning which is beautiful. The only thing to complain for the room is the noise. As the wall is made from bamboo - it is very thin. We can hear everything from the TV next door, people walking and talking. So I wouldn't recommend for person who can't get to sleep easily.

The breakfast was good, even it's not a buffet but they provide enough for you to feel very full.

Another thing that I like about the hotel is, it is close to the hot spring and the waterfall. Only less than 5 minutes drive, so if you stay for a week, you can have a hot spring bath everyday.

Overall, we recommend Nakakiri for people who want to get away from the busy life as it is new, not so expensive and peaceful.

The outside of this hotel is kind of off-putting. It has a brown, motel-like exterior with a concrete road running through it. Strangely, the restaurant and pool don't take advantage of the stunning view of the mountains.

However, the floating bungalows were really nice. Simple design with comfortable beds and a balcony overlooking the water. We fell asleep to the sound of water rushing beneath the bungalow, and we awoke to a thick mist and a flock of birds hunting for fish over the river in formation. It's a peaceful place.

Nice hotel in Kanchanaburi. We decided to held a small team building and seminar at this hotel. The room is spacious. Swimming pool is wide and good. The hotel has lots of space for conducting any activities. The downside is the food at the restaurant that is rather limited and plain. The location is very far from the city. During our stay, it was a major black out. But on the positive side, it provided us a better opportunities to be close to nature. The price is very competitive and it is perhaps the best character of this hotel.

The resort is beautiful although it is in the middle of nowhere. During this period of the year, the scene over the pool is very nice with early morning mist.

The staff is also very friendly and greet you warmly.

The room is basic - you cannot expect much. But it is clean and spacious. Chambermaids do their job everyday, tidying the place every day.

We had a very pleasant stay at Nakakiri. We stayed in a Pool View room, which was spacious. Decor was nothing special and the room lacked any real character but it t=did the job and had a huge bathroom.

We weer 2 adults and 2 children and there was plenty of space. It was nice to be near the pool and worth the extra. The standard rooms re not well located and although the rafthouse looked interesting it was a long walk down to the river.

Basically the resort is fine. Standards are OK, service is OK, food is quite good, but nothing special at all.

Plus it is set up as a conference and group tour resort and bus loads of locals on a company jolly or buses of Russian tourists dramatically change the atmosphere and noise levels. We had both while we were there and although they did not spoil the stay they did change the experience.

The big plus is the location as there are lots of places to visit in the vicinity (hot springs, waterfalls, Sangkhlabuuri etc..) and this is a really beautiful part of Thailand.

In short, don't expect a small, local resort. This is a quite a big, busy resort. Not at all a bad one, but not a great one either but it is the best in the area and the area is worth visiting so if in doubt.... GO TRY IT!

The hotel (no way is it a resort and spa) was very quiet whilst we were there until Sharp Manufacturing arrived for a weekend conference. Then the place was spruced up, pool towels appeared and the breakfast service appeared! Has seen better days but is perfectly adequate for a short stay. We didnt stay on the river but in the bungalows which were very nice but frequented by all manner of jungle friends each day! Never quite sure what we would come back to as the gaps under the doors allow for visitors! Everything was fine and if you dont mind 2/3 star accom this is fine for the price.

A lovely, secluded spot. I preferred the river view villa to the identical pool view villa. River view is private and quiet. Big room with huge bathroom. Big tub and separate shower. Wifi internet the first time, but their internet was not working the second time. I stayed on a Tuesday night and the following Saturday night. The first night, I thought that my colleague and I were the only guests; then a Russian package tour arrived in two buses. Then, on the weekend, the hotel was busy with Thai guests. The pool is large and great. There is no spa, the hot spring baths were empty and under repair. I was happy with the buffet breakfast.

Comfortable resort, large cool pool and good breakfast. Friendly staff, but limited English... I think this adds to the experience.
Beautiful surroundings and close to all local attractions.
Not really a problem, but WiFi was weak in rooms....worked good in public areas.
