U Inchantree Kanchanaburi is celebrated for its serene, lush setting along the River Kwai, which guests find particularly relaxing. The hotel's amenities, including free bike hire and the restaurant with its impressive views, receive frequent praise, although there are occasional comments on service lapses during busy events. While rooms are generally regarded as clean and comfortable, some guests find the standard rooms to be on the smaller side. The location is a highlight, conveniently close to local attractions. We (a group of 4 friends) stayed here the second week in June just after the hotel reopened with Covid measures in place. All the staff and guests wear masks in public places, at the buffet line, etc. Hand gel is readily available and the staff are very careful to to wipe down surfaces regularly. We borrowed the hotel bicycles and the staff cleaned them carefully before and after use. All of this with a smile and genuine enthusiasm to have us at the hotel and keep everyone safe. One of the bikes had a flat tire when we were out and the hotel came to retrieve the bike and rider within 15 minutes. The breakfast buffet was fresh and plentiful as well. We loved the easy access to the river and spent a lot of time just enjoying the breezy view (the breeze is a plus in rainy season!!). Highly recommend a stay here. Huge thank you to all the staff!

We have had the pleasure of staying here twice before and each time our experience was very good- this time it was great.
The addition of a new courtyard of rooms has added an extra quality to what was already a beautiful hotel.
The new rooms are larger than the existing rooms and are furnished and decorated in contemporary Thai style.
The location, overlooking the bridge, is breathtaking and the terrace, restaurant and swimming pool offer fantastic views of the river.
The staff are courteous, friendly and efficient.
Located a short walk from the town centre and bridge this hotel combines superb accommodation with authentic Thai hospitality.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. It is a lovely size and the riverside location is simply stunning. The bedrooms were very clean and comfortable with nice bathrooms. The star of the show however is the beautiful river view - watching the sun go down with a cold beer is magical. Breakfast was good, lots of choice. The pool and grounds are fab too. The hotel is walking distance from Kanchanaburi's main restaurant and bar road (approx 30 min stroll) so we walked to restaurants and caught a cheap tuk-tuk taxi back at the end of the evening.

The ambience of the hotel was very friendly and peaceful with lots of big trees, benches, tables, and chairs to enjoy the atmosphere, river view and the bridge view.

Staff were kind, polite and helpful all 3 days we were staying there. Bikes were available for free use if needed, so I rode a bike with my kids to have dinner at the nearby restaurant, saving a hassle of finding car parking space.

Two downsides I found were that the smell in bathroom was little stinky (could not find out where it came from), and that the noise of the adjacent room could annoy you very easily, probably through the connecting door (shut and locked) or the wall itself. Another thing to consider for some people was that the swimming pool was small.

All in all, we were incredibly pleased with this hotel. We could find peace staying here. Will certainly consider coming back here in the future.

I recently traveled to Kanchanaburi with my friends to spend the long weekend outside of Bangkok. I wanted some peace and quiet and decided to stay at this boutique resort. This is my 2nd time to stay in this resort. One good thing is that the U brand has a different concept where you can stay for 24 hours upon check in. This is very different from other hotels or resorts where there is check-in and check-out time to adhere to. The room that I stayed this time is at the new building, where the owner has added 25 more rooms to the property, making it a total of 50 rooms. Some of the facilities of the resort includes a library, gym, swimming pool and a massage room. The resort has also some scheduled activities such as merit making and yoga in the morning on certain days of the week. One of the main attraction of Kanchanaburi is the Bridge over the River Kwai which is located not very far from the resort. You can actually see the bridge from the resort. Despite having only 50 rooms, buffet breakfast is served and the restaurant located by the river.

I was very impressed with the staff. Breakfast also made in both western breakfast and thai breakfast. The room space fit for two. But I love the thai snack as welcome serving. The drinking provided in a room was excellent choice because I could choose whatever I want to have for 2 from 6 drinks.

The hotel is on the river edge with a view of the Kwai bridge. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant (overlooking the river) served superb dinners and excellent breakfasts. There was a small but attractive pool next to the restaraunt. The infamous Kwai bridge was easily walkable and the equally infamous railway . We took a tuc tuc into Kanchanaburi to see the museum and the immaculately laid out cemetry courtesy of the CWGC. We took the train from The Kwai bridge to the wood constructed viaduct at Thankra Sae

I just stayed there last weekend. I am impressed with the service of the staff there. The staff were very active, helpful and outstanding.

For hotel itself, the price is not so cheap even Covid time. The room i stayed is the superior room or something that is over 3000 THB. I could hear the next room everything. I guess the wall is so close to each other or thin.

The maids seem to start cleaning really early and you can hear them even it was not even 9 am.

The hotel is pretty and clean. The restaurant is good. Food is not that expensive but also pretty good.

Hotel facilities are alright.

So far, the staff is great, good location, clean but quite noisy in the morning.

We are staying for 3 nights at the Royal River Kwai Resort and Spa, which we cannot fault. Very friendly and efficient staff, spotlessly clean, good food and an excellent rural location (5 miles from bridge) on the River Kwai and beautifully relaxing. We decided to eat somewhere else on our last night and after using trip advisor decided on U Inchantree.

What a disappointment! We sat for around 10/15 mins before we finally had to ask if we could have drinks. We ordered steaks with side dishes as no vegetables or chips came with the steaks we ordered as standard. We had to ask for our table to be laid with cutlery and condiments. One meal turned up and was almost finished before the other 3 turned up. We eventually cancelled the 3 side dishes as we had already eaten our meals with no sight of said side dishes. The service was pretty chaotic.

We were hoping for move on and spend our last evening in Kanchanaburi enjoying a few more drinks so we decided to ask for the bill and taxi back to our hotel. On receiving the bill we saw that we had been charged a service charge. We asked for this to be taken off as we really did not feel we had received a good service. We were told by a waiter that it was not possible to remove this charge? The waiter also said it was not possible to split the bill between the 2 couples and 50/50 by credit cards as he said we could only use one credit card to pay the bill. We asked to see the manager as by now we were really unhappy and were told nobody was available.

This is the first totally negative review we have ever made on Trip Advisor, so don’t think we are serial moaners. We have visited Thailand on numerous occasions and it is unusual to find hotels of this standing offering such a poor service. Indeed their sister hotel in Bangkok which we left only 3 days ago offers exemplary service.
