It is a special hotel with failed design touches in the rooms so you can not even hang up your towel normally. Rooms are clean and beds fine. Plugs do not stay in the socket properly. The pool hasn't been maintained for a long time. There are 3 sunbeds, for a relatively large pool, with broken boards and also broken boards and pieces of concrete around the pool. The water from the pool was nice and warm. The restaurant/breakfast room is a cafeteria-like setup. You have 4 choices from breakfast and you have to give this up the night before. There is a breakfast buffet where most of the food is eaten by small flying animals. Food and drink in the Restaurant is expensive but quality is fine. The staff is very friendly and certainly do their best. WIFI is prima.
At the end of the street, 500 meters walk sits a good restaurant Meatzing & Meals & Bites @JP.
Big pool and big garden.
There were 3 sunbeds by the pool (without mattress) and then benches on the other side.
From the hotel is fifteen minutes walk to The Bridge over the river Kwai and 7-Eleven.
Half hour walk to the Death Railway Museum and the Kanchanaburi war Cemetery.
Great littleThai restaurant across the road (Meals n' Bites @ JP's)
We stayed in building G which is the last building of 7 and little bit separated from the others and closer to the river.
We stayed 3 nights.
There are 3 floors in each building and we were on the second floor.
The room was wery hot, the walls burning hot to the touch from inside in the afternoon.
The aircon was old and not working so well.
The bed was softer than anything I have ever slept in in my life.
There are power outlets on both sides of the bed but no bedside tables so iPads, phones and everything else on the floor.
And almost no place to put your clothes other than the table in front of the TV or on the top of the fridge.
No chair in the room.
The staircase up to the 2nd and 3rd floor have unusually high steps so I would recommend staying on the first floor if you have bad knees or big suitcase.
We had ordered breakfast with the room but only went once.
I thought it was buffet, but when we came we had to choose between some plates on a set menu.
I chose Eggs Benedict on a slices of bread with ham.
Please, please, please do NOT offer Eggs Benedict on your menu if you don't know how to make it.
Just offer something else.
Sent it back and got another not as bad as the first one but bad nevertheless.
There were some 15-20 people also at the same time (08:30) and there was a buffet so I thought I would just eat from the buffet instead but almost everything was empty but I managed to grab two slices of toast and enough butter for one slice.
And the view from my table outside the windows by the pool on the chair was a dead bird that clearly had been there for a few days.
We decided not to use our breakfast option for the other two mornings.
I previously booked ground floor, stairs to the 3rd floor outside and very steep No handrail
Reception totally unhelpful
I paid only 250 Baht more and stayed at Felix ground floor overlooking the river Kwai
Take my advice. NEVER GO TO STAY at Zeit. You will be disappointed for sure
However we all had the worst 2 nights sleep ever. The rooms are basic but very clean. However the mattresses are horrendous. Memory foam that have you sweating in moments so that you constantly feel damp/wet. The air conditioning is noisy and insufficient. The hotel seems to cater well for animals tho, as there is a cattery and a lot of people with pets staying. The hotel is in blocks and the balcony scenery is beautiful however the constant noise and mattress issues spoilt our stay. But you can't fault the cleanliness and hotel for the price
The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and friendly.
The only thing to be aware of is that if you are on the top floor of any of the buildings the water pressure and temperature can be affected.
Negative comments :
The room needs to be updated, it is old. The walls are way too thin can hear every noise, cats fighting at night, the tv next door and cars turning into the driveway. We had restless sleep, apart from that it is a nice beautiful place.
Breakfast was simple but oke.
The only good thing is that they are a shelter for street cats and they are really taking care of. Better than the guest of the hotel 😉
Chote was very helpful in making communicating easier between us and the rest of the front team. Chote also went out of his way to help organize activities and places for us to visit. Overall we had a pleasant stay in a beautiful environment and the breakfast was good also with helpful staff always there to ask if everything was okay. Highly recommended If you just need a place to relax.
