Detailed Reviews
I stayed here in December as a group of 4 friends in a family room with private bathroom. The room has 2 single beds and a bunk bed. The room was spacious and the bathroom was huge. We also made use of the shared bathrooms on the 2nd floor which was really useful considering we had 4 adults sharing one room. All bathrooms had large bottles of shower gel and shampoo to use.
The aircon kept the room really cool but the bathroom was quite hot unless we left the door open to allow the aircon to reach it.
The breakfast was OK, you had to order it the night before and they bring the whole rooms order when one person goes down to breakfast. This was a bit of an issue for us on the first day as we usually go down to breakfast at different times. We managed to get this changed for the subsequent days. Personally, I wasn’t keen on the breakfast but this was down to the options available rather than the actual food. We had dinner at the hotel one night and the food was wonderful!
The shared lounge areas are lovely. The downstairs areas are air conditioned but the 2nd floor area isn’t. They were really spacious and comfortable to hang out in.
The location was great for us too. We walked to the railway museum and cemetery and there were plenty of restaurants and bars in walking distance.
If arriving by train, I would recommend arranging a pick up with the hotel as we struggled to find a taxi when we arrived. We asked the hotel to help us with transport to Erawan Falls and Hellfire Pass and hired a driver for the day for 2200 baht which drove us to the falls in the morning, waited while we made the hike, then took us to Hellfire Pass around 1.30pm before driving back to the hotel around 4pm. I would highly recommend both trips.
Overall the hotel staff were really friendly and helpful with all of our requests.

The hostel is very nice, comfortable and cozy. There is a large common area and the fresh meals prepared by the staff are simply delicious. There are enough toilets and showers, thus don't worry about having to wait or your turn.
It is possible to rent a bike directly at the hostel, which makes it easier to explore the city!
A special thanks to Dao (Stella) who was available at the reception during my stay, she has been amazing, very helpful and thoughtful!
Definitely recommended!

Very clean and nicely furnished theme boutique hotel. Reception staff are helpful. Room wifi is good compared to other hotels. The room are individually decorated and the lounge area is where you take breakfast. You can choose from a few preset menu for breakfast. Hotel guests can chill and play board games at the lounge area. Highly recommended for family stay

The Westory, considering the high cost (in relation to the Thai ones), was one of the facilities I focused more on but it turned out to be nothing exceptional. The structure is new and furnished in a modern way, very nice common areas and room but the merits stop here.
As in many other structures no one speaks good English and upon our arrival also the check in was cumbersome, if you ask for info on local buses even worse.
Breakfast and rather bad meals are the result of an unfortunate Thai-Western mix that does not work.
The location is decent, we are on the main road of the city halfway between the bus station and the railway. It is certainly comfortable but still remains a bit 'unhappy considering that this avenue is rather gloomy and not at all characteristic.
Ultimately the structure works but with almost € 40 per night I think there are better chances.

Very commendable attention to details especially on the room decorations and the industrial design. With some common room where you could hang out, it gives the cozy vibe of a hostel to it, but it is not. As they claimed it, this is a poshtel.
Water pressure was not that strong, could it be because it’s an old building? The bathroom didn’t drain quick enough. Was there on a Christmas eve, so we could hear the sound of whatever party or concert that was held. Other nights could be better. Probably suitable for those who prefer staying at an area with night life.

Westory is a well done hotel, small but very organised with good staff & great service. It has been themed well to the railway in Kanchanaburi. The cafe & food served is well prepared & presented. The room are nice and clean. All comforts available in here.

We were supposed to go to Sai Yok for the night but decided last minute to stay in kanchanaburi. The hostel is extremely clean, great atmosphere, good food and amazing staff, super helpful and friendly and fluent in English which is quite a nice change! One downside was the airco which made a lot of noise but other than that, a true recommendation!

Stayed here with my girlfriend as it is very close to the bridge of the river Kwai. The owner was very friendly and accomodating, rooms are amazing in design! We tried their breakfast which was very good standard and their chocolate lava cake is great!

This place is a literal gem in for anyone that is looking for a luxury place to stay with a reasonable price.
The staff was amazing on all levels and went out of their way to make my stay as pleasant as possible. Their English was pretty good and they were extremely helpful with regards to providing tourist and travel information.
The design of the building, the rooms, the facilities and general interior is very modern and well maintained. I personally stayed in a six bed mixed dorm that was only half occupied (3 people in total, including myself). The hostel seemed rather empty at the time though, mainly having couples as guests (they also have double/twin rooms) so it was not easy to mingle with other travelers.
The food they serve (both breakfast that was included in the price as their à la carte menu) was absolutely delicious and had western standards which was as well reflected in the price. In my opinion not a big deal since they make up for it big time in quality and service.
In order to make the hostel more vegan/vegetarian friendly, my only suggestion would be to add the following to the menu: some kind of non-dairy milk, a breakfast dish that is suitable for vegans (e.g. a fruit platter, porridge with fruit) and tofu instead of meat, chicken or fish.
