Stayed for 3 nights with my partner. Didn't have breakfast or eat dinner here for can't comment on the food.

We paid around £20 a night so £10 each... with that we couldn't really complain. Stayed in a little queen room villa which was near the pool. Room was decent, a little dated but clean. Free water every day and had a fridge. However, there was no safe in the room. We didn't keep any money or valuables in the rooms as we are young travellers so didn't affect us.

Pool was nice but did have some leaves in that never seemed to get cleaned or removed by staff. (Is what it is I suppose)

You hear all the wildlife outside at all times of the day. Don't think the walls are too thick.
Did have a lizard in our room which was really annoying as I don't really want one in my room when were sleeping. There are loads of lizards all over the resort so probally not the first person to have this problem. Managed to chase it into a hole under the desk and then plug the hole with some tissue to keep it out the room. Not sure if it got in that way or not. The cleaners leave the doors wide open when they are cleaning the rooms and there is loads of bugs and lizards outside as its right near the river. Maybe avoid them cleaning the rooms to try and prevent this. I mean you're in Thailand next to the river and it's only a cheap 3 star hotel so I suppose it is what it is what it is.

Location is amazing. Few minutes walk to the bridge which is stunning. Restaurants and cafes near by so easy fo get food. We went for pancakeskes every day at a place called babussa (I think it's called that) (would recommend).

Overall a nice resort in a good location but alot of bugs and lizards hanging around. So just keep that in mind. Again it's so cheap it's hard to complain.

This hotel is very nice. There are accomodation options for the main buildings up front, small cottages or cabins and the large building by the river. We stayed in the main building by the river on the 2nd floor. It was nice and quiet. We prepared our own dinner and ate on the picnic table by the water with great views of the bridge. The staff are very nice and helpful. They met our very need. The hotel rooms are starting to show their age but I expect a major refurb is scheduled once business gets back to normal. The rate was very good for the 3 nights stay.

Extensive facility, with various small guest room villas and a modern building extension.
We stayed at the modern extension, which also has a small pool.
We had a clean, functional room. Fridge and room safe.
Quite sleep disturbing are the numerous illuminated switches and night lights in the room.
Functional bath room with a large shower cubicle. Unfortunately the shower did not work properly.
Breakfast is on the river terrace, typical Thai hotel breakfast. Coffee from the coffee machine, toast, jam, fried eggs, sausages, some vegetables, some fruit etc. Ok but nothing special.
One negative thing though, in the second night there were man small bugs in the room.

Location excellent, nowhere to store valuables no safe in room lay out of room shocking only got light switches at door no lamp at bedside so when lights go out it's pitch black can't see where bed is asked reception for lamp was told none available but they advertise them forsale! . Shower floods bathroom which makes floor very slippery & dangerous as I experienced . Extremely noisy in room 210 can hear all doors slamming. Pool dirty & very cold pool towels look like floor cloths I've thrown better away. Breakfast don't bother if your a westerner very poor not worth the money. Much better places to eat outside. Reception staff have a don't care attitude. My wife & I had a room for 3 people but only had one balcony chair. Toiletries not replenished bathroom sink leaked into bin underneath. Problem reported after 3 days nothing done. Only stay if desperate

The room is big, the bathroom made for a king (big too). Service was great and the location is perfect.

HOWEVER, buffet-style Breakfast is advertised to go on until 10am but the workers had the kitchen and Dining area cleared our 15 mins before 10am. That's unacceptable for an expensive resort. Is kitchen staff being lazy? The kitchen staff isn't welcoming either. A week ago, I was at a budget backpacker hostel in Vietnam and they had friendly staff with breakfast until the last minute offered. I can understand why everyone isn't traveling to Thailand anymore (assuming service reflects what I experienced here).

The River Kwai Bridge Hotel, could not be in a better location to see the Bridge. There is not a better location to take a photo of the bridge than the hotels outside restaurant, which is situated right at the waters edge. The staff are constantly cleaning inside and outside the hotel and the gardens. We would not think of staying anywhere else in fact we have decided to re visit Kanchanaburi and have book a room for next week we were that impressed. Our bungalow (409) was very close to the river and we recumbent it, however, all the bungalows looked very nice.

On arrival myself and my friend had a very efficient check in and was promptly told that the air-con had been put on and our keys were in the door. This was a very welcome touch as we had had a 15 hour flight then 3 hour car journey to Kanchanaburi. Our rooms were spotless clean and very spacious. My friend was in the next Room down with a terrace outside each room adjoined. This was a great touch as we could sit outside with a beer and chat. Breakfast was served about a hundred yards down the path on the River overlooking the Bridge and made for some fantastic photos. Other than the lack of a safe in the room I personally could not fault this resort. Highly recommended and excellent value for money.

Very cozy hotel by the river Kwai. There are bungalows and a bigger newer apartment building. Fresh rooms with central air conditioning so climate control was very nice.

The breakfast buffet is right by the river so you get a beatiful breakfast view every morning. The breakfast buffe is nice with both thai and western dishes.

It takes about 5-8 minutes to walk to the bridge of river kwai. There is a museum close by the bridge.

The pool is nice with a nice sun roof by the side.

This hotel had clean and tidy rooms, the facilities are a bit out of date at the back end, but they have a modern version at the front. I stayed at the back and found it quite nice it was disappointing that the Riverview restaurant wasn't open on a Friday night but it was open for breakfast.

Good place for kids, has a pool, free bikes and only about kilometer away to get to the river Kwia bridge bridge, just jump on the free bike and the way you go.

Plenty of parking if you taking a car. Did not eat at the place as I went down the road.

We stayed here for 3 nights visiting Kanchanaburi. The hotel is very near to River Kwai Bridge and from Kanchanaburi railway station as we arrived here by train from Bangkok.
The hotel location & environment is just perfect. Rooms were clean, spacious with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Staff were friendly & helpful. Eateries, shops, laundry & bars nearby. Some main attraction related to the Death Railway train is also nearby. Would highly recommend.

is there any triple bed in the villas? are villas closer to the river side? how far to the night market? thanks
Answer from Carrie S
Northampton, United Kingdom91 contributions89 helpful votes
I don’t know about triple beds but there were families with children so I’m guessing it’s available within one of the villas as we had a room in the main building. The villas are set in amongst trees like a little jungle resort, which goes down to the breakfast area that looks over the river. You can walk down some steps to the water edge ( bit dirty though). Night market is about a 2/3 min walk .

Hi, take a cab from outside the main building at the airport and make sure you have them use the metre, it's 150 km to kanchanaburi and on the metre should only cost 1200 to 1500 baht. I hope this helps.

Gosh I'm not exactly sure of the Good Times address but it's off the main road and a school is on the corner. Are you driving to Kanch yourself? Any tuk tuk or songthaew will know where it is if you tell them Good Times Resort or the address will be on their website. Highly recommend Good Times Resort.
