Stayed with Sky Resort for 4 nights and really enjoyed staying here.
It's located about a 10 minute walk from Kanchanburi train station and down by the river.
The rooms were very clean and large for what you paid in my option. They certainly had the most powerful shower pressure I've seen in Thailand!
My room was on the upper floor and had the perfect sunset view overlooking the swimming pool and river.
It's a good 2km walk to the bridge, but tuk-tuks are cheap and you hand a huge selection of bars and cheap food on your doorstep.
I found the room very quiet at night and staff helpful.

A good sized room, clean and tidy with powerful water pressure for Thailand. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Turn right and 250 m down the road turn left for the bars and restuarants. Not noisy although a bit of noise at the weekend until 11pm. The night market turn right at the end of the road and 2nd left a good place to spend some time in the evening. The railway station is just past the southern end of the Night Market, allow 15 minutes to get there, no rush. If you are getting the train to Nam Tok it goes at 1035 arrives Nam Tok 1235 and departs at 1255. You can only buy tickets from the departure station so Kanchanaburi tickets are sold to Nam Tok (100 bts each). At Nam Tok you have to buy your return ticket to Kanchanaburi ( 100bts). The last timed departure from Nam Tok is 1530, it might be late or cancelled so be aware its 77 kms to Kanchanaburi. The trip is worth doing. I would certainly use the Sky Resort again and the pool if fine, good circulation and chorlinated water.

Currently on a road trip that includes Kanchanaburi Province. Have been here a number of times and have slept in at least a half dozen hotels, guesthouses, and "resorts" in this neighborhood.
This is a popular tourist destination for both international and domestic travelers. So, accommodations tend to be a bit more expensive than in other areas or parts of the country. I really haven't found any good options in this neighborhood for less than 800-900 THB.
Sky Resort is a good example. At a walk-in rate of 500 THB it's pretty hard to do better, but, the negative comments in many of the reviews here a pretty accurate. The room was kind of grotty and needs a deep cleaning, & maintenance or at least a coat of paint. The room was large and could be quite comfortable, but the spartan furnishings were pretty funky :(
On the other hand, the pool looked clean and inviting and if you are on a tight budget, this might be a good choice.
One other thing to note: there are two roads from which you can enter the property: Rongheapaoy 3 &4. I met some very mean dogs on my way back from dinner on Rongheapaoy 3. I would avoid walking on this road (soi) at night. Take a look at Google Maps, the two roads (sois) are clearly marked.

Booked this hotel because of the central location and the pictures of the hotel. Other reviews are totally accurate. There are 2 roads leading to the hotel, the one at the back of the hotel has a warning on the hotel gate of a menacing looking dog. Further up the road is the real thing , at least 6 dogs all barking and growling, very frightening. The room was dated and needed a deep clean. Patio window was filthy. The bathroom was ok apart from mould on the tiles. Would not bother with the mediocre breakfast, better in the village. There are some positives, electric shower was hot and powerful, air con noisy but effective and other food in the restaurant was lovely. Great view right on the river and the other road goes direct to bar street.

Staff not helpful, sewer gas smell at night from shower drain, poor pool furniture. Nice size room and comfortable bed. Bedding consisted of abortion sheet and 1 kinda fuzzy, small blanket. We asked for a top sheet, were asked ‘why?!’ The location is quiet, close to attractions.

Sky hotel. KANCHANABURI - clean basic rooms, with a great pool, Luke warm water on shower, and very hard beds. Bad lighting for shaving and makeup. No coffee or tea is supplied, but you have a kettle and 1 cup. Very large fridge. Breakfast is across the rd , good price for hotel and breakfast. Out of hotel turn right follow road and you get too the main road with shops, bars & restaurants .

Altho a cheap price, you would expect a little bit of service, staff are really rude, pool has a dirty looking film on top and i wasnt game to even dip my toes in it, tv never worked, asked about 20 times but still not working, breakfast was crap, no top sheet on bed... so overall the location is only OK, everything else is below average, i think better management could make this place thrive, but as it is... spend your money elsewhere

Sky Resort is a resort on the River Kwai. There are cafes and restaurants. It's inexpensive and delicious, has a nice atmosphere, has views overlooking the river and temple. Close to tourist attractions such as the Bridge over the River Kwai, Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, Thai-Burma Railway Museum, and other places within the city that are easily accessible. good service staff.

Was gutted. Turned up here and was met by the rudest thai man iv ever met. Wouldnt help me out with change for the taxi man. Ok fine. Checked in went to room 1 double bed. For 3 of us. Partly hotel.com fault. Why they say the hotel is ok for 3 people on 1 double bed is beyond me. Went and asked for another bed for my son to sleep on and got shouted at buy rude thai. Shouting full, full, full.... right.. went back to room. Took a proper look around then noticed the bugs over the pillows and bedding. Then the human waist on the wall by the bed. Bugs on the floor. Door frame hanging off and holes in bathroom wall. Of course we ran out that place very quickly and luckily found a really nice hotel. I know this place is cheap. But no way would i sleep in a bed with bugs. And the human waist on the wall. Yuck. 🤢 i researched all reviews before coming here and it seemed ok. So what the hell went wrong?????? Wont give refund so going through credit card.

If you are a tight budget , this is the place to stay in Kanchanaburi . Close to what is on offer like the war graves and bar areas Very clean room and shower area very clean. Pool and car parking good . I enjoyed the restaurant that was on the river all rounded to a comfortable stay over the Anzac Day period .

Not sure right at the hotel but within a pleasant 10 minute stroll on the main 'mae nam kwae road' aka the farang strip there are several placss to hire small step thru type bikes. Happy travels.
Although hot water(for drinking) can be arranged separately from hotel staff(can't expect more than that), but for beverages you can go to beautiful riverside skyresort cafe in front.
There are more places to choose from in the Kanchanaburi area.
