Arrived early evening to find we're the only guests This place shares grounds and architecture with the hall of opium so if you look for that it's easy to find I liked it. But I'm a fan of bungalows on concrete stilts. Think Le Corbusier meets the garden city concept There is a sort of faded 70s grandeur about it...

The location is great; surrounded by forest and very cool and refreshing in the morning. Never stayed in a hotel with this "feature" ever. And very quiet. Next to the Hall of Opium and the Golden Triangle where we were heading. They have 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom bungalows but these were accessible only by a long climb up stairs. You cannot...

Quite easy to find by car, off the main road against a hill and after the Hall of Opium (which was good and seemed to have an endless stream of visitors). The stay did not start off promising. The room was clean, but furnishings are basic and rather dated. Perhaps it was low season ; we seemed to be the...

Greater Mekong Lodge is located at the same area as Opium Hall which excellent place to visit. It’s not like a hotel but it looks like bungalow on a hill. There’re 2 separate room in each Bungalow. Room itself is old but clean, breakfast wasn’t bad but not so good.

We stayed here for one night as part of a 2 night, 3 day tour of the Golden Triangle organised through the Doi Tung Development Project. Located just outside Chiang Saen and part of a complex that contains the excellent Hall of Opium museum, we arrived from Chiang Rai in the afternoon after visiting a few attractions on the way....

“For elderly people with walking difficulties, there is no wheelchair-friendly access up to the rooms. You have to climb up/down 3 - 5 steps to get to them from the lift lobby. To minimize walking distance, ask for rooms on the wing where you do not need to cut across the atrium/ meeting hall in the centre. The 1- and 2-bedroom bungalows may be better value for money. Same price as the standard rooms when I booked.”

“The bungalows are accessible only via stairs from the road, so it is not convenient for elderly or disabled travellers.”
