We have been at the Bamboo Nest for 2 nights, with 2 little kids (2 and 4 years old) and had a peaceful and beautiful experience. The location is very tranquil and relaxing (partly because of the lack of internet but mostly because of the remoteness and scenery). The cottages are good (we had the family cottage at around 1600...

My family and I spent a delightful New Year in 2014/15. It's the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of Chang Rai and the sort of place you dream of finding when travelling to Thailand. With stunning views, delightful rustic bamboo huts looking out over the valley, great food, no noise, no internet, no worries. Beautifully run by the...

I can't believe how perfect this place is. It is located at the middle of nowhere, no internet, no fancy restaurant but has the most beautiful view you could ever imagine and the loveliest owner you'll ever meet. Has great food and the coolest pets. I hope this place stays just that way it was so other travelers can experience...

My second visit to the Bamboo Nest was even better than the first. This is the place to go if you want to completely unplug - no internet, no phone and no exchanging currency is a very good thing from time to time. The air is fresh, the scenery is spectacular, the food is healthy, the fellow travelers are like...

I made a reservation for two days, extended to four days and even then I was still sad to leave. The location at the end of a steep road with its back to the jungle and overlooking rice fields, hills and distant mountains make this a very special place. Noi and Nok speak good English and take great care of...

This place is not easy to get access to and guests will have to rely on the owners Nok, Noi or the brother Bee to help you get there and go back to Chiang Rai. It is located at a steep hilly place just above Lahu tribe village, a small village of about 40 families. The scenary is stunning especially...

We stayed at the Bamboo Nest for 2 nights and our stay was both amazing and humbling. The views were breathtaking. Nok and Noi the owners were very hardworking and made you feel honoured to be their guest. As we are big animal lovers being surrounded by 5 cats and 3 dogs that are owned by Nok and Noi were...

My wife and I started our 4 week holiday in Chiang Rai with Nok and Noi prior to taking the 2 day slow boat to Luang Prabang in Laos. We stayed 3 nights and had a really relaxing time, walked in the hills this time by ourselves to the akha village and waterfall, and on the second day further on...

What a great two nights, Nok collected us as agreed at the bus station and took us to their place which is about 40 minutes away, as per other reviews the last bit of the journey is up some pretty steep roads that are pretty knackered. We had a double bed in our hut which is traditional bamboo construction built...

The views are exceptional, rice fields, families working hard.. Each night we all got round the fire to chat....absolutely fab...
