Only stayed two nights but the room was clean and comfortable with Ac, wifi and hot shower that all worked well. The lady at reception is helpful and friendly and the free coffee and tea is an added bonus. Its situated close to the night bazaar and saturday walking st markets, with some half decent bars around too. Good value...

Great budget choice - the rooms are fairly basic but comfortable and clean. The location is spot-on - on a small alley just off Jetyod Road. Good wifi, free water daily, outside seating areas throughout. The AC works well and the fan is an added bonus during the warmer months. The lady who manages the guesthouse speaks pretty good English...

I stayed one night while in Chiang Rai. Receptionist is very friendly. Centrally located within walking distance of the bus station. Clean and large room. My only gripe with Orchids was not the place itself but the other guests -- loud, obnoxious Europeans who had no consideration for other guests. In the small courtyard everything echoes. I had trouble sleeping...

This guest house is cheap, clean and the owners are helpful! It's better to book a room, because they are very busy. To book a room from abroad, you'll have to call them (we couldn't book by email or with the website).

They have same price as the rest and better, newer, cleaner rooms. Two wifi hotspots very fast. The electricity does not get cut when leave so our electrical devices can charge when out (usually the rest do). Complimentary coffee, tea and cocoa is great. Very nice

We arrived to Chiang Rai at about 6pm. This was the first place we stopped. It was great for one night as we went to the night Bazaar for some shoppng and food then to sleep. It was about a 5 minute walk. Good location, decent value for the money.

Orchids Guesthouse was really great value for what you got. My wife and I stayed here for a few nights and had a nice relaxing stay. The rooms were great with aircon, cable TV, and free WiFi (which had great connnection and speed). We also found the rooms to be very clean and the beds were comfortable. Even though this...

I had a big problem when I got to Chiang Rai - I had lost my wallet on the bus!! The staff at Orchids, especially the receptionist was great. They even offered to lend me money!!! I don't care how bad the beds might be - which they weren't - I don't care how noisy the rooms might be -...

Good place to stay but it hasn't been up with our best hence the average rating. On the plus -- great location (walking distance from bus station and clock tower) and very helpful staff. On the negative side -- instead of mattresses we slept on box springs (not so comfy) and three of the four of us woke up with...

I booked with Orchids after seeing it mentioned in Lonely Planet, but my friend and I were really surprised with how poor our experience was. The woman at the desk was horribly unfriendly and very unhelpful; simple questions about the Internet and air-con were met with disdain. Her English wasn't very good so I guess that could have been it,...
