Amazing days in White House of Tanzania!!! Ive stayed for 20 days at White House, and I felt it as my house and, all the ones that worked there, as my family. Masai with his big smile always saying mambo! As well as Nane and Emy in the kitchen, cooking the best chapati in town! And Richard as the dj and bar tender always with the best vibes, giving me the cold everyday beer safari. Miss already being there, with such good energy the Hostel has. Im sure I will return!!! But Junior, this is for you! Next time, wait for me with the pool hahaha! Thank you everyone for everything. I made friends, laughed, enjoyed, and have the best memories in White House. No more words than THANK YOU!!!!!
The White House of Tanzania is a nice and very clean hostel with a beautiful and big garden. Iddi and the rest of the team are very warm-hearted and super helpful with every question. Breakfast is included and you can join delicious dinners for a few dollars. There's also a cute outdoor bar with music and barman Richard (thank you :) ) and many different spots indoors and outdoors to charge the phone and/or to socialize and chill. There is even an outdoor billard table. Wifi isn't very quick, but there's connection everywhere, in and outdoors. The hostel is located a bit outside of Arusha, but that's fine as Iddi can organise many different tours for you. It's possible to book hikes with different duration (5 to 7 days I think) and difficulties. I don't know the prices though. I did some other tours (Mt Meru waterfall which was fun, maybe a bit expensive all alone) and went on a Masai village tour which first felt a bit pricey, too, but it was worth every penny and it supports the village, too. It was one of the most impressive and beautiful experiences I had on my trip. Guide Pita is Masai himself and introduced me to his family that lives maybe 1 hour outside of Arusha. And if shared it probably gets cheaper. Oh, and there's a doggo you'll fall in love with from second one :) Thank you very much for everything, Iddi, Richard and rest of the team!…
It was so much fun staying her. All the crew are do friendly. And you can join them for a night out!. I would recommend it to everyone! It is clean relaxed but still very much flexible. The dorms are roumy as well, and they arr only 10 usd! Loved it!!
Great staff that listen and just want you to be happy. It is also a really clean place. They offer a cheap buandry service. Free breakfast is good, eggs chappati and a lot of fruits. Just loved my time there!
The white house is the best spot to stay in Arusha! Great staff who were always so much fun, so welcoming and helpful! The rooms were nice, with comfy beds and good bathrooms. At the hostel you can organise safari with them, Kilimanjaro, day trips and more, which makes it really easy to do all the best things in Tanzania. I loved this as just a nice place to relax and feel at home, which I always did! definitely recommend 👌
Nice place to stay. A little out of the center but easy to reach by public transport. The manager Walter is ready to help you out with anything, and they offer a lot of safaris and trips to the surroundings. It's as clean as you'd expect from a hotel, great place for short and long stays.
The White House is a great stay for those who travel single or with a company. The atmosphere there is just amazing - large social space including the bar with normal prices, a lot of games and, most of all, great people who arrive there. The people working there are extremely nice and friendly. You can really feel safe and welcomed there, like at home. Very highly recommended!!!
Would highly reccomend staying at the White house! Walter the manager is excellent at his job, very organised and efficient. Emi in the kitchen is amazing and they have a lovely doggy called Albi. And a free pool table! Top pick in Arusha! Jack and Sam
Thank you to Walter and the WHT! I had a pleasant stay in your hostel. We booked spontaneously and Walter helped us get in last minute and the next day he helped us prepare for our next trip and even ran errands on my behalf :)
So where do I start? Well, when I came to Arusha I didn’t know where to stay so I drove to all the top hostels in Arusha and I wasn’t convinced on ANY of them. The last hostel I decided to check out was White House. When I arrived I was DAMN this is beautiful. Then I met Jr the owner of White House and immediately the vibe was different. It didn’t feel like sub-par Tanzania customer service but closer to what I was missing being outside of the US. I was sold plus the BEDS ARE FREAKING HUGE! I booked for a month. Junior then took me and some other guest out to the local nightclub and we had an absolutely fantastic time…shout-out to Richard the white house bartender/DJ The breakfast and dinner is superb because the cooking staff is amazing I felt like family whenever I walked into the kitchen. Much love to Ziki & Emi!!! I’m a digital nomad so I needed to go to a local cafe and Masawii the White House all purpose man looked out for me and made sure I could get wherever I needed too. I don’t want to make this too long but most importantly a family emergency happened and I had to leave early. I explained this to jr and he as a true homie/ human actually refunded me for the day I didn’t stay. This is huge because he didn’t have to, but Jr sees his guest as more than dollars but friends. I love White House Tanzania and I will not stay anywhere else when I return to Arusha.…
