We loved staying here and wish we could have done another night! The staff were very friendly and helpful - the coffee tour was excellent and the staff leading it were very knowledgeable. The tasting was delicious. We spent time at the art and craft centre on site which was fabulous - I made my own bag and jewellery. Our food was lovely and the room was very comfortable. The staff made us feel special on our honeymoon and had decorated our room plus we had sparkling wine to celebrate. Thank you very much.

Dear Ellen, What a heartwarming review! Thank you so much for choosing Arusha Coffee Lodge as the starting point for your Tanzanian adventure and honeymoon celebration. We're thrilled to hear that you loved your stay and that you found our staff to be friendly and helpful. Our team takes great pride in ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and special, especially during such special occasions as a honeymoon. It's wonderful to know that you enjoyed the coffee tour and found our guides knowledgeable. We believe in providing an immersive experience, and it's clear that you appreciated the coffee tasting and the opportunity to explore our on-site social enterprise. We're delighted that you had a comfortable room and that our little touches, such as the room decoration and sparkling wine, added to the joy of your honeymoon celebration. Creating memorable moments for our guests is at the heart of what we do. Should your travels bring you back to Tanzania, we'd be absolutely thrilled to welcome you for another unforgettable stay. Until then, we wish you both a lifetime filled with love and adventure! Warmest regards, Ms Hazel General Manager

This is a beautiful property but way over rated. The rooms are not maintained - lights not working, fans not working. Having maintenance come to your room at midnight so that you can see to unpack is not a fun experience. The food is mediocre at best. It’s a coffee plantation and the decaf is Nescafé granules. The staff was very nice.

Dear Mary Ann C, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback about your recent stay at Arusha Coffee Lodge. We appreciate your honesty and regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. We are truly sorry to hear about the maintenance issues you encountered during your stay. We take these matters very seriously and will be addressing them immediately to ensure such inconveniences do not recur in the future. Our guests' comfort and satisfaction are of utmost importance to us, and it is clear that we fell short in this aspect during your visit. Regarding the food, we apologise that it did not meet your expectations. We value your input, and your comments will be shared with our culinary team as we continuously strive to improve the dining experience for our guests. While we are indeed located on a coffee plantation and serve fresh coffee from the fields to all our guests, we will, however, forward this feedback to our processing plant to explore ways of making an in-house decaffeinated coffee option in the future—a skill we have not yet mastered. On a more positive note, we're pleased to hear that you found our staff to be very nice. Our team takes pride in providing a warm and friendly atmosphere, and it's great to know that you had a positive interaction with them. Once again, we apologise for the inconveniences you faced during your stay, and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us to make the necessary improvements. We hope you will consider giving us another chance to provide you with a more enjoyable and comfortable experience in the future. Kind regards, Ms. Hazel Grumpo General Manager

We stayed at this very beautiful place for two nights before going on a Safari. The staff were extremely warm and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The grounds were very lush and beautiful ! There were a family of little Vervet monkeys living in the grounds , one had a tiny newborn baby. The mum came to show us her baby!! Our suite was wonderful !! Clean spacious and very comfortable. Atmospheric and well equipped. The food was all great with a great choice of locations within the grounds to eat it. We did the on-site coffee tour which was really interesting. Most guests seemed to be just passing through before or after their safari, which is a shame because the place is wonderful and a longer stay would be enjoyable. Despite this this staff were consistently very friendly and kind. Thank you to everyone for our wonderful stay at the Coffee lodge!

Checked into Arusha coffee lodge post flying from London to Kilimanjaro, beautiful surroundings, spacious and clean accommodation - with a variety of food options and activities to keep you busy. Unfortunately on arrival our room wasn't ready so despite the long journey we needed to wait ~3 hours and weren't able to properly start our holiday until we were in the room. Similarly to other comments, in comparison to other Safari accommodations, we felt that there was a few instances of staff being slightly overbearing and hanging around looking for additional tips. Having said that it was a really wonderful evening meal and a great way to start our holiday!

A very pleasant spot to spend the night before beginning our safari. Food was very good, and coffee was excellent, as you would request. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. In retrospect, after staying at camps and lodges in and around the national parks, it was noticeable that the staff waited around expectantly after carry ing bags for tips. In the parks, the expectations seemed to be that you would leave your tip in the general tip box to cover the entire staff. Here, staff members were letting you know subtly that they would like more. I suppose that's the difference of being in a city.

Stayed at Arusha Coffee Lodge before and after Tanzanian Safari. Immediately impressed by the beautiful lodge with surrounding greenery including coffee plants. Enjoyed many meals which were all delicious. Our accommodations were appropriate for lodge setting-very comfortable, clean and inviting. Staff was friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed the monkeys roaming the grounds. The lodge is also home to local master artisans with disabilities! Would highly recommend. Just be sure to ask which meals are included in your package as their buffets can be pricey.

The outside is beautiful. Coffee plantation, flowers are nicely done. However, it seems it’s been awhile since they updated the rooms. Looks lovely, but every floor board creaks. Food is a 6 out of 10. Would not be quick to return.
