We recently stayed at the Arusha Coffee Lodge. It was fantastic. Everyone from the waiters to the porters to the personnel lighting the fireplace were extremely forthcoming and friendly. The grounds were spotless. The only "complaint" I would mention is the reception where it took forever to store and to then obtain retrieval of our luggage. I also asked the reception how to best get into town and was only offered a car for $ 64. I instead took the local minibus in front of the lodge for TS 500 (i.e., about $ 0.20). So with with knowledge, I do recommend staying here and I would stay there again.
When you have traveled 24+ hours to get to Tanzania, the Arusha Coffee Lodge is the perfect place to refresh before leaving on your safari. We spent 2 nights before and 1 night after our cross-country safari. The grounds and buildings are beautiful and comfortable. The food is excellent, and the staff are amazing! As we found everywhere in Tanzania, the lodge employees are warm, welcoming, eager to please, and very efficient. It is obvious that they genuinely care to make you comfortable and help you have a great experience. They know all the safari guides and can get you in touch with yours at a moment's notice. We absolutely loved staying here!
We spent our first night in Tanzania at the Coffee Lodge. We elected to stay on site all day and had wonderful service throughout the day, from drinks when we arrived, to lunch and dinner, to prepping our room for the night. We weaved with the ladies of Shanga and toured the coffee plantation. So fun to watch the monkeys on the grounds. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Food was delicious. Highly recommend the Coffee Lodge.
What a great find at the end of a very long, tiring 2 days of planes and airports. We arrived here after dark. We had a lovely reception at check-in with smiling, cheerful, kind staff with a tray of Iced Arusha Coffee for our party of four. (Delicious)! Check-in was a breeze and after we received our luggage we had dinner at the Bistro, as the main dining room had closed. We had a lovely dinner with very good African wine. Who knew? It was after midnight when we finally got ready for bed. Our accommodations were divine. Our bed was luscious looking and so comfortable. We slept well. The nice touch at this lodge besides the room, the bed, the fabulous bathroom, etc., was the small refrigerator with all kinds of goodies, (including African wines and beer, soft drinks, etc.) There were also cookies and fudge, Arusha coffee and a Coffee Press to make the best coffee I have ever had. We also had our pure white bedding and bathroom decorated with rose petals! We felt like a King and Queen! Stayed 2 nights. All of it was true bliss. We even had a private tour of the Arusha Coffee plantation. We had a great time. Everything about it was fabulous. After our Safari we came back to the Arusha Coffee Lodge for one night for our final farewell dinner (fabulously special) before traveling back to the United States. I cannot express how much we enjoyed our total of three nights here! It was a treat, for sure! Asante Sana!…
I loved visiting the Arusha Coffee Lodge! This was my first stop in Tanzania and it did not disappoint. The food was so good and the room was so nice! I loved meeting everyone as the people were incredible. At night, they had a band that just made the experience even more magical. My favorite part was seeing the monkeys right outside my room and on top of my roof every morning. I loved this place!
This was our first trip to Africa and what an incredible first night! We spent the first and the last night of our safari at this lodge. The grounds are beautiful! The staff is outstanding and so helpful. The food was outstanding and of course the coffee -amazing! I got sick my last night of our stay and the staff was helpful and offered Dr assistance and medication. They were attentive and super helpful. We look forward to our next visit!
As part of Skysafari, my husband and I recently spent two nights at Arusha Coffee Lodge. Namnyaki was our butler and she made sure we had an excellent stay! I have specific dietary restrictions and the kitchen did an amazing job taking care of that. They even baked us a dairy-free anniversary cake! The rooms were large and luxurious. This place was certainly a quiet haven after our flights. We visited Shanga, one of the shops on site and they had a good selection of African souvenirs, all made on site. We also did the coffee tour which was very educational and the coffee was terrific!
We spent one night here before heading to the Serengeti. What a welcome to Africa! This lodge was full of wonder and soul. It was a big, affirming hug to the continent and the hospitality of Tanzania!
We spent 1 night here as a first stop on our Tanzania Sky Safari tour. The individual suites are set in a coffee plantation amid beautiful and well maintained gardens. Our Plantation Suite was spacious and comfortable with 4 - poster bed, large bathroom with standalone bath, separate shower and toilet and double vanity unit. All meals were beautifully presented and local spirits & wine and soft drinks were included. Namnyaka was an excellent butler, nothing was too much trouble and she literally ran around after us to ensure we had the best time possible. All staff were friendly, warm and welcoming and went out of their way to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Would highly recommend the Coffee Lodge.
As with many of the reviewers, we did not stay here overnight, but rather visited the restaurant on our way back from the safari in the Serengeti. We were seated by the staff at a huge circular table in the garden under a leafy tree, a beautiful and relaxing setting. The staff offered us a variety of food, and we sampled some, enjoying all we tried. We also had a leisurely stroll through the gardens admiring the beauty. It was a welcome break from our travels, and we enjoyed it immensely.
