We stayed for 2 nights pre Safari. The hotel is perfect for this … we arrived early in the morning a long and delayed flight from Heathrow via Doha and our room was ready for us. Having the room available meant we could shower, snooze and grab some lunch. The pool area is very pretty , quiet and tranquil. The gardens and trees offer a lot of shade which I’m sure is fabulous in the summer but less so in July and made it seem quite gloomy. The pizzas at the bar were delicious. We had latte coffee and cake at the little coffee outlet and the cake was dry but the lattes were ok. Would definitely stay again if we get a chance to take another safari
Loved this functional modern hotel after a week on safari. Pleasing architecture and interiors, lovely clean sheets and comfortable beds, wonderful hot showers.... everything was super except the restaurant. Ordered a baguette with smoked chicken pesto and got a stale hotdog roll with boiled chicken and no trace of pesto. The breakfast spread was vast but uninspiring. The breads were stale and I asked specifically for fried eggs sunny side up and got double fried.
I have been to this hotel 4 times and every time I return i feel home. The hotel is a land mark in Arusha due to the fact it was built during the colonial time. They have managed to keep it updated to modern times. The staff from the reception Jacqueline, Diana, Nicesta, Miki and the rest do not remember Cynthia from FnB and Jackson at the bar they newly promoted Athumani who used to be a security guard and now a porter. Coming from the same industry, I know what it takes to run such a place it takes hard work. Well done Krishna and your team of Michael, The HK team who are contantly doing the tough job are all Excellent.
Stayed at the Sheraton Arusha for one night after finishing our Kilimanjaro trek. Comfortable stay and well looked after by the GM Mr Suri. Few issues faced: the hot water takes ages (>7 minutes) to come out of the shower head; the flush kept leaking; had to ask for bathrobes; limited supply of tea bags, had to ask for replenishment. Breakfast was good, although not too many options. Overall a comfortable stay.
Best part of the hotel food service and location. rest is could be better. Room I get was very faraway, very cold and nothing special. Really, nothing to say about this property. But if you need to stay 1 or maximum 2 nights in Arusha it is Ok place to stay
I stayed here only 2 nights after a very long flight and before heading out on Safari. This was a good stop. The rooms were clean and breakfast was substantial. I'm giving it 4 starts (and not 5 for a few reasons). The food quality on the buffet was inconsistent (but plenty of options to avoid items -- e.g. the bacon was inedible one day). While there are hair dryers in the room, there were no outlets close to a mirror you could use...
I'm on my fourth visit here and the rooms, amenities and buffet breakfast are all nice, but the service varies from very average (reception) to the truly appalling (bar). Even on a quiet night I've had to go up to the bar to get served and order food. I've tried it twice but from now on, if I stay here I will eat out. For the prices they charge, the service is unacceptable and a stain on the Sheraton name
A perfect place for pre and post safari, but I only stayed one night! After having a challenging day of travel--delayed and missed flights-- the staff was amazingly sympathetic. They made sure I was well taken care of upon arrival. Wish I stayed additional nights after safari.
We stayed at Four Points for one night prior to safari. This is a old hotel (from 1984) which has been brought up to speed with modern conveniences. Our room was comfortable and the bathroom of a good size. The food was of a very good standard and the service great. All in all, this is a solid option for Arusha city.
This is a very old historical hotel that has been bought by Sheraton. It is renovated and has modern, clean decor. The food was good and the staff were very accommodating. We enjoyed an evening on the lower level outside by the bar and pizza oven. They did not clean my room for some reason and one day there was very little water pressure along with only cold water. Sheraton could do better.
