I had to make a business trip to Arusha and had a short time to plan for it. So what came TOP OF MIND... was the Palace Hotel and decided to check it out as I had stayed there before. Was nice to meet with some old friend and students of mine and the friendly atmosphere was what I needed most... Well rested and had a successful trip.
Customer service and food well at least I eating healthy because their breakfast was nutritious. Room service costs at around 3 dollars and it’s in the city centre so you have an evening work scouting the city. Generally everything was great in our 2 nights stay at Arusha Palace Hotel
The service is off!. The hotel has zero COVID-19 protocols. Do not trust the five paged document shared before arrival. The staff did not wear masks. I attended a conference and the meeting room was congested with only doors as ventilation!
Room was nice and comfortable. Was only there for 1 night during a stopover. Location wise very ideal i.e quite central in Arusha and their staff were super helpful and attentive. Would definately have it as an option for my next visit!
For the price, I expected nothing short of a clean and spacious room topped with a pleasant view of the city. I slept like a baby that night. I stayed here on NYE on the 8th floor. I could see fireworks all across the city. On the 9th floor there was loud party going on, and the bass could be felt in my room and people were yelling up and down the hallway. So if you're looking for quiet location, make sure to not book the 8th floor on NYE. Cool cafes and supermarkets nearby if you want to buy some coffee and souvenirs back. Breakfast was one of the best I had in Tanzania. Their fresh fruits were superior to all.
Staff here very accommodating. Warm and friendly and happy to help with suggestions, advice and whatever they can do to make for a pleasant stay. Location is good as allows you to walk around the town, see the sites. Restaurant is not the best but ok - has a limited menu. Rooms were clean and spacious. Stayed for a couple of days and it worked well for our needs.
We stayed for 2 nights (before and after our safari) and everything was super nice and clean! The staff was really gentle and available, always smiling The girl from the reception very professional and Pascal very kind and polite. The food into the resturaunt up to the roof was really tasty and good. As we were in honeymoon, they prepared us a very nice surprise (a lot of roses on the carpet, on bed a rose heart and everywhere and a fruit bowl). I highly recommend this hotel!!!!!
Booked a superior room. Asked for quiet location in reservation (received email confirming) and at check-in. I was given a Southeast corner room (#11 or 12) with bed, small table & chairs, small desk & chair, bench for luggage, closet, and large bath. Facing south was "city view" and north was "mountain view." I'm not sure which side other reviewers are labeling front and back. The east end and north side of the hotel are over streets. North faces a small boulevard, but that is evidently the side on which you hear the nightclub. Southeast corner faces street so does get the motorbike noise. The numbers are sequential down the hallway, not odd one side and even the other. Staff were nice; some in training; breakfast staff always overwhelmed. I could have saved money and booked a standard room--smaller with no table etc., but sufficient and in the middle of the building so away from the street. Would recommend south side quieter. Not sure if their windows open, though. The price for those rooms appropriate for the quality of the hotel, but price for better rooms too high. Good about my room: bed and pillows comfortable foam; wifi strong on 7th floor, but did not reach desk; sufficient counter space in bathroom, hangers in closet, safe, frig, kettle, furniture, air conditioning, windows open, hair dryer delivered when requested. Bad: lack of hot water--boiler turned off one day for repair, person who turns it on each morning late one day; holes in worn sheets; large holes in blackout curtains; doors not close completely unless slam; shower stall leaked and shower head badly scaled (I cleaned before using). Spa looked dismal. Minimal business center.…
The hotel itself is OK, if a bit dated, however I type this at 3.30 on a Friday morning as the nightclub next door shows no sign of slowing down - the lack of sound insulation means that I am virtually on the dance floor! If clubbing from your own room is your thing, this is the place for you.
Really reccomended if you have to stay few nights in Arusha to start or to end a safari tour. Near the city center, about 5 mins by walk to the lock tower. Great breakfast and really confy rooms with big bathroom.
