We had an very good experience staying in Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha, Tanzania with good sight views and had enjoyed tasty foods and other dishes, also excellent services of the rooms, Thanks. Iqbal & Family
I booked this hotel since it was used by the company "Climbing Kilimanjaro" to begin and end my hike to Mt. Meru. Overall, excellent service and good people. 2 things though: 1) I asked where to get money and the gentleman and the front desk August 7 around 2-3pm told me that I had to drive to town to get money, so the porter Joseph arranged a ride to go to town and also add, if I can get dinner as well. When I came back to the hotel, I saw an ATM right outside of the hotel. I am wondering why he did not say that. I really did not feel like going to town after a long and hard hike to Mt. Meru. 2) the driver that the hotel recommended charged me $100 for a ride to town. My drive to Moshi from Arusha was $50. I highly suggest to people to definitely ask how much the driver will charge you before getting into the car. Well, I did that. This driver "FRANK" refused to answer the question. Then, when Joseph (the porter at the hotel) wanted to ask him, Frank closed the door to this Toyota car. Then, as we drove out, since I asked again, he said $150 at first and then changed to $100 since I said $150 was too expensive. Anyway, those are the main ones. Hope this helps.…
We had a wonderful time at Mount Meru. Make sure you stop at the restaurant Arabica and get local beer recommendations from Allen, and listen to live music from Vibration band!!! The atmosphere, music, and good vibes were amazing!!
I can’t believe this hotel does not be 5 stars…it is a luxury hotel for a very reasonable price. This is the ideal hotel after climbing kilimanjaro and before a safari. The restaurants and bar are excellent…the staff is friendly and is used to catering to people pre or post climb and pre/post safari. Spend a little extra money and stay here because it a the perfect hotel! The spa here is awesome and you will want a massage after climbing kilimanjaro! The only improvement that could be made is better WiFi but I say that as a spoiled American who wanted to share all the climbing and safari pics with family back home.
Beautiful hotel and beautiful tranquil views, either of Mt. Meru or the gardens that overlook a golf course. Good service. We only stayed one night but would come back for sure and recommend the hotel to our family and friends.
The front office is exceptionally professional. Room service is faster. Cleanliness was carried out on time. Except the restaurant service s slightly poor as one has to wait for tea, or food stuff that one has asked for rather too long. Staff at the business centre was not always at his or her desk delaying service. But overall, an excellent hotel.
The Mount Meru Hotel was the starting point for our Tanzanian safari so we only had an overnight stay but our impressions of the hotel were very good. The public areas were all attractively decorated and spotlessly clean, the staff were all very helpful and friendly and the buffet dinner and breakfast we had in one of the two restaurants were very tasty and offered a good selection. The room was comfortable and clean with a terrific view out to the foothills of Mount Meru and the grounds were attractive and tidy, with a good sized pool (which we didn't try out) and nearby pool bar (which we did). No hesitation in recommending the Mount Meru.
5 Star Stay for a 3 Star Price! At least a price in the states. The only thing I really missed was a USB plug mixed in with the regular plugs (and more electrical plugs). The people who work here always had a smile on their face and by the time we left here, 2 days later, we should have been fluent in Swahili! They had patience of saints when trying to teach us the basics of Swahili and we all laughed together. It is the staff that make this hotel AMAZING. The steaks were phenomenal, cooked to perfection and would have been twice the price at home! You can walk to a HUGE local market or BBQ restaurant (during the day only). It isn't recommended to walk at night outside the perimeter. If we come back to Arusha, we will only come back to this hotel.
Stayed over the weekend with my husband. The service was excellent starting with Annette at the front desk. The views from either side of the hotel are great and the food was good. The hotel grounds and pool area are beautiful as well. Location of the hotel is also perfect for movement around Arusha.
This hotel is real outstanding in its services. The services were all excellent, the room appearance, bed and the restaurant services. The compound and the cleanliness with and outside were just outstanding
