Came here with my two daughters (3 and 6) for a restful weekend. We enjoyed every second. From swimming in the pool, riding horses, going for a hike do the dam, eating excellent food, to sitting on the veranda drinking tea.

I spent an excellent day in Ngare Sero lodge to escape from Arusha. Looking at this beautiful lake, spotting the white colobus monkeys or blue monkeys jumping in the trees. The environment is beautiful with a lush forest, a lake with lots of birds, a beautiful swimming pool to refresh when the weather is hot... The lunch (beef stew) was...

Ngare Sero is a little oasis of tranquility and I can not recommend it highly enough if you are looking for a quiet, private and well cated stop over. The family run lodge has a great history, friendly staff and the food was very good. Rooms were clean and of a good size and there are a limited number of...

Beautiful area, the green area, the lake, relaxing, nothing to complain about. But since we had better places the remaining trip, it does not get a top score. There were a lot of sounds at night, even more than in the tent in Serengeti. We would come back, so it highly recommended.

Thank you for your review. I would like to note, as you compare us to the other accommodations on your safari, that we are much cheaper than our competitors in quality. In comparison to the Serengeti camps for instance, we are less than 50% the price. Thank you for staying with us and hope to see you back another day....

We stayed here for one night after arriving in JRO late at night. It was an excellent one night stay to get some sleep before heading off on Safari. The staff were very friendly, food very good and location convenient.

This lodge has a lovely feel to it, set in beautiful retired forest, run by a family passionate about eco-friendliness and conservation. The main building is historical and very beautiful and interesting, the rooms, large and well appointed. The pool is beautifully situated and if you are lucky you will get a visit by the Colobus and Sykes monks while...

This is my happy place. Just looking at photos I took while staying here, bring back feelings of serenity. The property is beautiful and there is so much nature to see with just a walk around the area. In all of the hotels I've stayed in during my lifetime, this is the one I'll never forget. It's a wonderful place...

I cannot say enough good things about Ngare Sero. This is my fourth time staying here and it seems to get better every time. The grounds are astounding with gorgeous lush gardens and a fresh spring water lake. The troops of Colobus and Sykes monkeys never fail to entertain and the variety of birds is always breathtaking. Ngare Sero Lodge is in a beautiful setting near Arusha. Lush gardens and a pond encourage great birding, which was the point of my visit. Lots of good birds seen. The room was clean but very dark. Set in lush gardens amid forest and crystal clear waters on the slopes of Mount Meru, Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge is a wonderful place to relax and simmer in the immense beauty of East Africa. The Lodge has been adapted from an early colonial farmhouse built in the early 20th century and it is one of the oldest family lodges in Arusha. It offers only 10 garden rooms, 2 main house suites and pool cottage with 2 bedrooms, and provides personal service for its residents since 1974. Here you can spend the days amid nature, watching the changing colors of the Kilimanjaro glaciers while sipping drinks on the verandah or hiking in the forest inhabited by colobus and Sykes monkeys as well as hundreds of small animal and bird species.
