Ngare Sero, an original German colonial farmhouse, dating from the early years of the last century, is a delight to stay. High up on the foothills of beautiful Mt. Meru, the lodge is in excellent condition and set in extensive gardens and forest with a private lake and trout farm. The place really gives an "Out of Africa" feeling when...

We have been at Ngare Sero twice over the past three years, and there is only one word for it: Absolutely magic. The location - in the forrest, at the shore of a small lake where a river flows through and you can fish trout. The main house - an old colonial farmhouse built with meter thick walls and stone...

A truly amazing place - a family-owned lodge in the classical African style.it high enough above sea-level so the climate is warm but never too hot, and not as dusty as the plains The grounds are superb - a bit like rural England but with the African exuberance. Katya is a wonderful hostess and will tell you endless stories of...

A very nice place , away from the hustles of city. A beautiful place to relax and spend holidays. Different activities such as a charming boat ride , horse riding, swimming pool and hiking available inside the lodge grounds itself. Child friendly and my 4 year kid enjoyed very much there. We got the rooms 11 and 12 and from...

The lodge is in a quiet area surrounded by natural vegetation, a charming lake and stone bridge, with great bird life. It's not too difficult to get to from the main road between Arusha and Kilimanjaro airport. The garden is beautiful, well kept green lawns, flowers and a lovely long swimming pool. The rooms are spacious and well kept, although...

We had a stop for 2 nights in Kilimanjaro (Flight Crew) and we had the great opportunity to stay in this lodge. The rooms with the beautiful and stunning lodge were beyond our expectation. The price is a bit high, but it seems this is what you have to pay in this area. Anyway, the whole visit was fantastic and...

Some of things others did not like about Ngare Sero I loved, so know what matters and decide! It's true that the nature noises at night and early morning were really loud and almost primitive but for heavens sake we are in AFRICA how cool is that (I recorded it and put it on FaceBook). The rooms are not uber-luxurious...

We stayed here for four nights, splitting the stay into two as we went on safari for a couple of nights. we were allowed to leave some of our belongings behind at the reception whilst away which was very good of them. The staff at the lodge are extremely well presented, courteous and available should you need them but never...

This is a great place, absolutely amazing grounds with colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and lots of birds. The history is very interesting as well and the staff is pleasant and very helpful... so why only 4 stars? The rooms are good, not amazing and I wish they would upgrade them. The food is also ok, but would like a bit...

Thank you for staying with us and writing a review. We do work hard all the time to make improvements and we have plans for a few new bigger and better suites. Of course keep in mind value for money in Tanzania, an expensive country. Accommodations with more luxurious rooms and plate service cuisine tend to be about double our...

My family spent two days relaxing in the tranquil atmosphere of this beautiful hotel. Well tended gardens that attract many birds, pool, excellent small boutique. All of the staff that we met were cheerful, efficient, and welcoming. The meals were very well prepared, and we were seated in a different room or patio every meal. Rooms were spacious and well...
