The reception at the airport was friendly and made us feel welcome. Unfortunately, the road to the lodge was washed out and bumpy from the rain. This made the welcome at the lodge by the owner Joyce Kimaro all the more warm. She showed us our accommodations and pointed out the flora and fauna. The well-kept grounds are covered in many banana plants and trees. The rooms and corrugated iron-roofed huts were rustic but lovingly designed and left nothing to be desired. In the airy dining room we were spoiled with lots of fresh vegetables and fruit, as well as hot meals. We were provided with sumptuous packed lunches for the excursions that Joyce Kimaro organized for us according to our wishes. Unfortunately, we could only stay a few days, but we could have stayed there longer without leaving the lodge. All in all: an unforgettable experience.

If you are traveling to Tanzania and want a truly memorable experience, I highly recommend a stay at Songota Falls Lodge. The owner, Joyce, is a dynamic business owner who really takes pride in her property. The service and hospitality that she and her son, Ray, provides is first-class and also vey affordable. The lush greenery and mountain views will appeal to nature lovers, and the food is healthy and absolutely delicious. I have stayed at Songota Falls twice and never have been disappointed. Joyce arranged shopping trips to town; organized a safari trip for our group; and took care of our smallest requests, always with professionalism and with a smile. The accomodations are clean, comfortable, and located near a tranquil waterfall. The staff are friendly and we always felt safe and welll cared for. You will not be disappointed booking your stay here!

A true one of a kind experience. The lodge is tucked away at the top of a waterfall with spectacular views. Joyce is a thoughtful host and wonderful chef. The individual "cottages" include lovely stone bathrooms, comfortable beds and lots of African textiles.
Staying at Songota Falls Lodge feels like a little bit of paradise.

The property is very autenthic, nice and clean. Many trees around the houses, and general feeling that you are in the middle of the jungle. The perfect stay for people who are not afraid from nature, his souns and animals around (monkeys, birds, geckos) and search for hidden, calm places. Beautiful view over the forest, nice clima as it's above 1500 m. Bumpy street to the property followed by banana tree forest from left and right side makes you feel adventurous. Joice is a very good and helpful host and great chef, we had the best banana soup, chiapati and great stews! Thank you for the beautiful time. Barbara & Bojan

This is a hidden gem, on a hill in Arusha. The grounds are beautiful, overlooking the valley. Each cottage is cozy and comfortable, with private shower and lavatory. The wifi is good. The owner, Joyce, is so accommodating, and eager to make sure your stay is perfect. We had breakfast and dinner at the lodge, and it was all delicious: fruits, vegetables, soup, main course, etc.

My wife and I did not stay at the lodge, but we did have lunch at the restaurant. The food was simply fabulous! Many of the dishes were authentic Tanzanian cuisine, and all were expertly prepared and delicious. Joyce herself oversaw the dining room and, like her entire staff, she was friendly and helpful.

Joyce and her son took wonderful care of our large family. Her son guided us on a very fun and somewhat treacherous hike through water where we had to remove our shoes at one point l, which I very much enjoyed. We stayed as a family, but this would also be a great place for a school group or a retreat as there were multiple beds in each dwelling and plenty of space in the grounds to gather as a group.
