A true one of a kind experience. The lodge is tucked away at the top of a waterfall with spectacular views. Joyce is a thoughtful host and wonderful chef. The individual "cottages" include lovely stone bathrooms, comfortable beds and lots of African textiles. Staying at Songota Falls Lodge feels like a little bit of paradise.

We had an amazing stay here. The grounds are beautiful, the food is delicious, and it was the perfect way to start our trip for 2 days before heading out on safari. It's definitely quiet, but that's exactly what we wanted. We also enjoyed the walk to the waterfall.

Joyce and her son took wonderful care of our large family. Her son guided us on a very fun and somewhat treacherous hike through water where we had to remove our shoes at one point l, which I very much enjoyed. We stayed as a family, but this would also be a great place for a school group or a retreat as there were multiple beds in each dwelling and plenty of space in the grounds to gather as a group.

We stayed at Songota Falls Lodge before starting our safari. It was the perfect place to begin. Joyce was a great host, and her cooking is phenomenal - some of the best food we ate while on our trip. If I go back to Arusha I will absolutely be staying at Songota! I recommend the Songota Falls hike - it was a beautiful (and surprisingly challenging!) excursion.

Beautiful place to stay for a couple of days. Lovely, friendly host. Mama Joyce really takes care of you! My hut was comfortable, decorated with the beautiful Masai fabric on the walls and bed. Comfortable shower with warm water, which is not always standard in Tanzania. Beautiful garden with several seats, hanging seats. Exceptional view over the Songota Falls valley, when you sit on the terrace. Mama Joyce is also an exceptional cook! All with detail and taste. Because everything is taken care of, you don't even have to go into Arusha for a dinner. Highly recommend this lodge!

My wife and I did not stay at the lodge, but we did have lunch at the restaurant. The food was simply fabulous! Many of the dishes were authentic Tanzanian cuisine, and all were expertly prepared and delicious. Joyce herself oversaw the dining room and, like her entire staff, she was friendly and helpful.

This is a hidden gem, on a hill in Arusha. The grounds are beautiful, overlooking the valley. Each cottage is cozy and comfortable, with private shower and lavatory. The wifi is good. The owner, Joyce, is so accommodating, and eager to make sure your stay is perfect. We had breakfast and dinner at the lodge, and it was all delicious: fruits, vegetables, soup, main course, etc.

My large family began our Tanzanian Safari Adventure at Songota Falls Lodge which was wonderful. Joyce is the definition of warmth and hospitality. The meals she serves were outstanding. Our family had the pleasure of staying with Joyce and her son on our first night in Tanzania. From the Mango juice when we arrived to Joyce's overall hospitality, we were very pleased with our accommodations. This first day was meant to allow us to get our Safari legs before we headed to the Bush and Songota Falls Lodge did not disaappoint. A highlight was a birthday celebration for one of daughters with a beautiful homemade cake. Thank you, Joyce!
