It was a good-enough stay at this place in my "quiet room" (at like about the end of a corridor) with a nice-sized ensuite, a TV (only one or two channels but some good "news channels" available on request) and especially the nice "extra space" of the balcony outside my room (a "common balcony" to share with the nearby rooms but as it was at the time was pretty much only me to use that balcony and looking to the back from "one end" of which being a view of Mount Meru on a clear day). But yes, it was really the food which was the "best part" of staying here with quite a variety of items in my breakfast plate (no buffet but prepared by the staff) and a good number of items to choose from for lunch & dinner ranging from fulfilling dishes to lighter items like soups (no need for me to go out for meals during my stay except for those during the 4-day safari & the lunch on the day-trip day). And yes, apart from a pleasant 8-night stay (three of which on a safari though), my many thanks are for the manager Veronica for the excellent guest service provided by first picking me up at the Bus Station on my arrival late evening then booking the two tours for a "lifetime memory" (a 4-day safari for Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater and a day trip to Materuni Village) and finally waking up very early in the morning to make sure of my timely departure to the Bus Station for my return to Dar es Salaam (and for which she'd also bought the ticket); thanks so much, Veronica, and yes also the ladies in the kitchen for the "nice & filling" meals.…
Stayed there with my mom, wife and son from 05-07 January 2020. Checkin formalities were very smooth and we were even offered a choice of rooms. The rooms are clean and well appointed with decent facilities. Veronica is an affable manager who is always available for any help and she and her staff make one feel very comfortable and wanted. Additional fans an bottled water were provided as required, The property has a nice kitchen and a reasonably well stocked barand really no requirement to step out for these basics. The staff is very prompt to respond. As food is made to order it does take a little time but is sumptuous and tasty. We had most of meals on property. Our requests for tea/coffee and snacks at odd hours as also warm water for my mother were accepted with a smile and very satisfactory. Due to plumbing issues, hot water was not available on the first afternoon but Veronica had it quickly sorted out and we had good running hot and cold water for the rest of our stay. Veronica is a one stop shop for any requirements. She arranged taxis for us whenever required to town and the airport, helped with payment issues, checked in often to see we were comfy and attended to even the smallest quirk with a bright smile...in all a wonderful and professionally very competent manager In all a very pleasant stay with fond memories. A bed, cold shower, and very slow service. This establishment is overstaffed with workers doing absolutely NOTHING. We booked to stay here for one night before, and one night after our safari tour. On the first night we realized the internet wasn't good, in fact it kept turning on and off. Both my partner and I work while traveling, so we only book accommodation with wifi - which they said they had... The staff is so lovely (and I'll generalize it to the whole of Africa - they're nice!), but don't mistake a nice person for a good and professional worker. We ordered dinner that night, and they told us to come back in one hour, which is fine (kinda)... hour and a half later - 30min waiting at the table dinner comes. They asked us what time we wanted breakfast, we agreed to be served at 7am, as we were being picked up at 8am. We woke up at 6am to work, and there was no wifi. At 6:30 I went down to reception, where there was no one. Someone then woke up, and came out of their room - she had clearly only just woken up. When I asked about the wifi, she said it was a service issue, and I confirmed with her our breakfast at 7am - in 30 min. At 7am we came down, and NOTHING was happening… the owner arrived at 7:15, and I told her that we needed internet, and our breakfast served asap, as we needed to work, to eat, as we needed to leave soon. She, very slowly, turned the router off and on, and the wifi was back. OUr breakfast was served at 7:45am We should’ve canceled the second night, but for budget reasons, we kept it. We were received by 4 staff - 3 of them helped us taking our luggage up. As soon as I got the room, I realized we didn’t have hot water… and the wifi was very broken. We ordered dinner, and it took over an hour - expected this time. And we agreed with the staff to have breakfast - at this time - at 8am (which we assumed would be much easier). When we went down, there was already a couple having breakfast. “Great” - we thought, they are already working. Wrong! At 8:30 we were served our breakfast. Summarizing: People are nice, but the service takes a long time to get done - including wifi.…
Good value for the money. The room was very nice and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only minus was that it was a bit hard to find outside the city center, even for the taxi drivers.
This hotel has to be the best bargain in Arusha area. It is well appointed quiet, and clean. The staff was freindly and accomadating. Breakfast and dinner were both very good. (Note breakfast was extra - $5). This hotel is hard to find and could use better signage from the main road.
We were so happily surprised to find this hotel in the Sakina area of Arusha. Vero and her friendly staff provided excellent service, answered all of our questions, arranged for transportation, and in general, took very good care of us. The rooms were spacious and neat. The grounds immediately surrounding the hotel were beautifully kept with plants. Other than a neighboring rooster, the area was quiet for sleeping. Our only difficulty was in finding the hotel; there are no signs on the main road, and we had to ask several people where to go to find it. The side road it is located on off of the main road is next to a butcher shop and currently near a collapsing building advertising Blue Band margarine. Good luck finding it, but if you do, you will like it. Food was great too.
Great experience at this hotel. Super-friendly and helpful staff. Excellent meals, prompt airport transfer and laundry service. Plenty of hot water for showers. Finding the hotel was a little challenging at first -- yes, it is down that little bumpy side street. The GPS coordinates are correct. (If approaching from Nairobi Road, look for the building with the cement advertisement & turn left there.) There is a supermarket and ATM nearby. Secure parking area for my motorcycle. Downtown is just a short boda-boda or taxi ride away. The Wifi signal was not always great.
they have a laundry running below and are cheper online than in person but charge 30$ for early check in which is almost 50% of booking price but they have cheaper deals for head mean who hire rooms for their workers they take your carkey and damaged my case but receptionist taped it for me nice rooms though can be noisy hot water was brilliant but runs out
