Detailed Reviews
Very comfortable hotel with large rooms, very friendly staff and incredibly helpful chef who asked to see me to discuss my special dietary requirements. Food and wine were very good with extensive breakfast. The best wine we drank whilst in Tanzania!

Welcoming staff. We received a welcome drink and the next morning enjoyed a wide array of fresh and delicious food at the breakfast. The staff were very hospitable and the hotel is positioned well for those wishing to travel between Kilimanjaro and the Serengeti or Ngorogoro. 1 comment to improve would be hot water (there was none) though that might not be in the hotel's control.

We stayed here the night before our flight from the Kilimanjaro Airport which was only an hour away. The hotel is stunningly beautiful with rooms that are very large with all of the amenities that one would need. The rooms were very quite and comfortable which was a nice way to start off a day of international airplane travel. Dinner was very good as was the price; breakfast came with the room. The lobby is spacious.

Very old hotel that definitely needs renovations. Good base for a one night stopover if you’re going on a safari, but if you need something longer, look somewhere else.
Not a four star hotel, more of a low 3 stars. Everything was very outdated and the WiFi wasn’t working in our room, we were on the ground floor and we needed to step closer to the window overlooking the pool in order to get a bit of signal.
There’s an alley next to it with a nightclub that doesn’t help it you’re looking to catch sleep.
The bathrooms were small, not that clean and extremely old. Curtains had probably been washed last ten years ago.
We got charged for a cappuccino at breakfast even if breakfast (very limited choice) was included.

Arrived at hotel and checked in around lunchtime, spent rest of day relaxing by pool as we were meeting our daughter and partner before going on safari the following day. We have no complaints about the room only the very poor TV reception. We had an evening meal which was good and a couple of drinks before going to bed. The following morning we arose early, sorted all our belongings out and put our passports documents and money into our hand luggage. We left the luggage in our locked room and went down for breakfast. After breakfast we went back to our room just to pick up our belonging and went to reception, paid our bill and waited for our daughter and safari guide to arrive. After they arrived our safari guide loaded our luggage into the vehicle and we set off on our adventures. Upon arrival at our safari lodge, at check in, we found out that our passports, documents and money were missing from our hand luggage. The bag had not been out of our sight for the duration of our trip from the Gold Crest. We contacted the hotel and they provided us with CCTV of the time the bags were in reception, nobody went near them. We aasked if there was CCTV covering the room area (203) and they told us no. We asked if anyone had handed anything in again they replied no. We can only assume that the documents etc, were taken whist we were at breakfast. We have emailed them more than once since arriving home but have not had a reply.

The structure is very old, with antique furnishings. The rooms are very spacious with living room, kitchen and bedroom with 2 beds from a square and a half. The bathroom with bathtub is terrible: leaky shower, impossible to adjust, shower mat with mold. Empty fridge bar and not working. Bedside light not working. Dirty pool, washed at 5pm when we wanted to swim. Very poor breakfast, French toast only spread with egg and then fried. TO AVOID.

We stayed one night at this excellent hotel. We had presidential suite, which like apartment: a roomy living area, big kitchen and two large master bedrooms. Some areas in the room showed tired looking and rusty, but in general, rooms were clean and bedding were comfortable. Continental breakfast was sufficient and good.

The room is wow - I got the big one - a bed room with attached room, one children room with attached bath, one big kitchen and a big hall. Wow such a luxury and big space for a single business traveller. Food is more great for non vegetarians. Clean room with Very great support. My special thanks to Mr Samuel who helped me to book this hotel.

Good hotel in Arusha. Good food (alcohol beverages not included), nice room.
Few bad points from our side:
• The swimming pool is cold. That’s difficult to go in (we are in altitude at Arusha)
• there was a mistake on the booking (don’t know if it was a mistake from our tour operator or from them?) and our triple room became a double. Fortunately the room and beds are large so we can be 3 with marginal inconvenience.
Apart of that, we enjoyed this short stay.
