This was our first night stay after a long travel to Sri Lanka. A lovely very well looked after small hotel, each room was unique and furnished beautifully. We have 3 of the 4 rooms so took over the place really, the pool is down a level in the garden and gives you a view of the foliage and hills... More

The staff at this place are amazingly helpful. Colonial style if a bit tired. Rooms large and quirky and look out for the odd small non threatening lizard. Overall a very relaxing experience with good food at Sun House next door. great pool. Only a short walk to the town and fort

I would move in to The Dutch House and live there forever if I could. Owner, Geoffrey Dobb's taste is second to none. The rooms are large, high ceilinged and beautifully decorated. There is a lovely infinity swimming pool that looks out over the jungle and an enormous garden. This is truly paradise.

We stayed here at in the Ballroom for a couple of nights finishing off our Sri Lanka visit. This boutique hotel is amazing! Just lovely. The staff - especially the manager - was super friendly and accommodating and really treated us like royalty. The grounds are amazing. Infinity pool and all. The decor...just spectacular with amazing taste. Of all the... More

This historic building was the perfect setting for a night in the Galle area. Its abundance in history, its authentic existence and the wonderful staff transports you to the first years of this villa. Loved every second. Thank you!

The first stop for my wife and I, in Sri Lanka. The brochure and excellent fellow traveller reviews, say it all. A lovely old stone colonial, detached building, set in mature, private gardens, with crocket lawn, private infinity pool and just 4 individual suites. Centrally, there is a beautiful drawing room/library, lined with bookshelves and comfortable old chairs, settees and... More

We recently stayed at the Dutch House for 3 nights. From the moment we arrived, it was like being transported to another era. We stayed in the Blue Room which was beautiful, charming and huge .. but having seen the VOC suite at check-out - we'd opt for this if we stay again - it's lighter and the layout is... More

We choose to stay at the Dutch House following trip advisor reviews and numerous recommendations in guide books .Sadly, it did not meet our expectations. Service standards were poor compared to other boutique hotels we used on our stay in Sri Lanka. Once a person i presumed to be the manager showed us to our room we were left to... More

The gardens, swimming pool and general feeling of peace and relaxation were it's high points together with good service and a garden full of birds, animals and not seen before shy monkeys together with the lovely rooms. We had the Ballroom and would certainly recommend it as we thought it was the... More

We had 4 nights at the Dutch House and really enjoyed it's relaxing, low key, old style charm. You feel are staying as a guest in someone's house. The breakfasts were great, and the rooms quirky and charming. Being able to walk across the road to the Sun House for drinks and dinner is ideal.
