The hotel is a tad tired but so friendly, I am not sure what people did not like, its a guest house and I think Galle travellers are a tad snobby, the owners were great and we enjoyed being here .....

We requested sheets for the bed and after some discussion some torn strips were supplied. Filthy pillow. No privacy, open windows to courtyard along with other rooms and bathrooms. Left after one night. This place is a complete rip off.

We were given a room for 3 at €120 per night that had nothing as per advertised, to summarise: Room walls were filthy, No Garden view, Missing linen, Dirty bed sheets, Missing towels, Broken room door and bathroom door, No Wifi in room, No TV, No DVD player, Fridge didn't work, No "24 hour reception" to help address these issues...

Be weary about staying here ! We were promised aircon and fan and both did not work and they still wanted to make us pay ac price . Dirty and not well kept. Such a pity as it is a charming heritage space with great potential! Good that we have trip advisor to make owners accountable

This very old (250 years!) building DOES tell its time. But that puts it apart from the others around. The entire hotel needs a bit of patching up and they should make use of the empty spaces. There is so much potential here to raise the standard; plumbing, cleaner sheets, cleaner kitchen, proper curtains... for a start. However, we like...

The fotos off the hotel are beautiful but in reality the rooms are not nice. Simple and moderate. More like a backpackkers place. The staf is friendly and service oriented. The owner is also helpful. X

Very rude gentleman who owns this hotel. Unwilling to help or treat his guests with any kind of respect! Go elsewhere for a pleasant dinner or stay. We visited here for dinner, but were very disappointed. - We were the only people eating, but after ordering drinks, no one came to take our order for food. - There is no...

The pictures are nice but it's really faded glory with maintaining prices like it was back in the days. ..Unfortunately the rooms are not bright and colourful anymore but whitish paint with a moldy scent. The courtyard isn't maintained. The rooms are overpriced and unhealthy to stay in. It really needs fixing up a lot! I hope they will because...

Visited here for a quick lunch. Mountain sized portions of kottu and fried rice- good value and quick service. A filling snack- also very tasty! Cheaper than a lot of the surrounding places and you can see the kottu being prepared outside- looks clean.

I didn't stay here but had lunch here. I liked the atmosphere, the street, it is located centrally. I just looked in to see the beautiful garden inside. I would have liked to stay here especially because of its location.
