Very nice staff, large bedroom, superbe buffet for breakfast and dinner. BUT be aware that it is not possible to eat after 7.30pm/8pm (like in many places in Korea) There a large indoor swimming pool. Good spa. Good location, free parking facilities,

Room is big & clean but the mattress is too hard. Facilities are plentiful but WiFi is unstable & sometimes unaccessible. Good location with quick access to the lake-side walkway of the Bomun Lake. We emailed the hotel to assist us in booking a table at Yosokkoong or else we won't be able to dine there. The hotel was so helpful & speedy in response.

Thank you for your satisfaction with our Hotel Hyundai Gyeongju. I was able to make a reservation for Saturday evening because you confirmed your reservation early. How did you feel about traditional Korean food in Yosokkoong? I hope you've been more than expected. Please understand if there was any inconvenience in using WiFi because our hotel was made into an S-shaped structure. We are planning to start the renewal process from June 17th this year. We will do our best to make it more convenient and desirable in the best location in the Bomun Lake Complex. Thank you for using our hotel. We appreciate your feedback!

A few years ago, I wrote a great thanks to this hotel. But this time, very disappointing. This accommodation was one of my best favorite hotels. When I had visited at first in early nineties, it's facilities and service were so call cutting-edge. However, it is not now. Despite several times of remodeling, it looks like old fashioned. Poor cleaning of bathroom floor, weak flush of toilet and crowded buffet restaurant disappointed me. The shower gown is neither true one, nor Yukata, and is rugged. I enjoyed swimming pool twice, but retractable clothes line did not work. I would like to evaluate as only one point, but because of my longstanding favorable impression, I give two.

My first impression (the one that often matters the most) was correct. It seems this hotel was built when tourism started to take off in the beautiful city Gyeongju and has not evolved that much since. In fact, it is a fairly old hotel and while its style may not be to anyone's liking, this remains a comfortable and spacious hotel. Rooms are pretty large and offer a nice view on the mountains or an even nicer one on the lake. Just keep in mind that the Hotel Hyundai is not close to the city centre and since public transportation options are limited, your best way to go downtown or the temples is to take a taxi. A costly option as distances are not short in the area - and also because there are lots of things to see! I do recommend this hotel if you want to have a peaceful stay - I do not recommend it strongly if you want to move around the city.

This huge hotel building is located at the waterfront with beautiful view of the lake. Quiet and close to nature regardless of the different hotel buildings and amusement parks around. Good breakfast and gym. Huge lobby.

Totally disappointed. Hyundai hotel is supposed to be a top quality hotel in the area, but the service that my family received was terrible. Our experience began at the moment of arrival. The attended doorman complained that my father, a septuagenarian, is too slow to get off the car and our family's vehicle is blocking the driveway. He is in his mid-to-late 70s and it was even a half a minute for him to get off the car. Yes, he just said that with folded arms, and didn't even try to help my father. I was told that you should be driving either Mercedez S or Bentley in order to get greeted by doormen in Korea - I didn't believe it but now I have a doubt that it may be true. Another discontentment came from the hotel's coffee shop. We were a party of seven, and two out of the seven didn't feel like having coffee. So we ordered five cups. The waiter said it is a strict "hotel policy" that everyone seated in the table should order at least one drink per person. One of us adamantly refused to order, then the waiter that you are violating the hotel policy. We didn't continue to fight back and ended up paying 70 something dollars for five insipid coffees. I strongly advise that in order to get a real help service at this hotel, you should be waving a 10k KRW bill gesturing that you are going to give them a handsome tip for a normal service... such as holding the door.

Dear Our Guest I apologize for the inconvenience you and your father felt. There is no falsehood in your review. There was an incorrect service, but there would be no wrong hotel. We confirmed which staff provided such rudeness and failed service, and shared the content. Through these reviews and feedback from our guest like you, we hope that our hotel will be turned back and changed to a desirable and good hotel a little earlier. We are planning a new renewal in June. We'll be working on the renewal for a long time, almost a year. Of course, I am sure that through construction, we will improve not only in appearance but also in food and beverage services. But what we want more than anything else is that we hope the zeal of employees who are willing to offer reasonable prices and services will be educated and nurtured. We look forward to your next visit with more satisfactory facilities through this construction. My excuse for apologizing for your displeasure was too late. But as I wrote here, I wanted to thank you once again for your honest review. Thank you very much. The most sincere greetings!

This is a great hotel to relax for a few days in while exploring Gyeongju. It's in a peaceful part of the town built for tourists, which can get a bit quiet sometimes as it's not actually near the town or restaurants. But there is a regular bus service that takes you into town and to all the major tourist attractions, so the distance isn't an issue if you're willing to treat the hotel as a resort rather than a city hotel. Overall, we had a good stay as the rooms were roomy, the internet was fast and the staff was courteous and friendly. Taking evening walks around the lake was also nice and romantic, and I believe as long as you treat this more as a secluded resort rather than a hotel you'll enjoy your stay here.

Stayed in Hotel Hyundai Gyeongju Nov 2018. Visited Gyeongju to see the historical sites in Gyeongju, South Korea, which was the capital of the Silla, Korean Kingdom of about 1000 years ago. We stayed in a Deluxe mountain view room on the 11th floor. 1) Pros: The room is quite large, approximately 400 square feet, or 37 square meter, or google (11.2 pyeong). The room is carpeted, and the bathroom is tiled, and has a nice, deep, tub to soak in, equipped with grab bars and a hand held water nozzle/sprayer. There is good water pressure of hot and cold water. The bathroom also has a separate, glass enclosed shower and the toilet has a bidet. The single bath sink has plenty of space, an electric outlet, hair dryer and moisturizer lotions. There is a large, three directions, wall mirror over the vanity. The sleeping area is provided with plenty of light entering the room length glass window and door leading to the balcony, unless you choose to close the drapes. In addition there is a remote controller that is used for room lights and AC temperature settings. For convenience and visibility, there is a motion sensor light in the entry hall and also in the closet. The card key provided easy access and also turns on the room electricity. The removal of the card key shuts off the room electricity, except the room fridge. This convenient feature save resources should you mistakenly leave something on when you exit the room. There is thermostatic controlled central heat sensor, that displays and adjusts the heat temperature settings. This central heat control kept the room temperature warm and cozy. Did not use the AC which was unneeded as the autumn temperatures ranged from the forties to low seventies F. The room had two standard sized beds, which were quite comfortable. There is plenty of clean bedding, pillows and towels. There was an upholstered lounge chair, telephone and in room refrigerator. Lastly there was a room length dresser with plenty of clothes storage in combination with a desk and chair, and a flat screen TV with remote. The view from the balcony was beautiful, a rainbow of red, yellow and green leaves on the many Autumn trees. The surrounding mountains appeared bluish in the distance. Very nice. The price we paid was 90 USD per night for two guests. This hotel borders, the man made, Bomum Lake which has a contoured, paved, easily walkable path of about 6-8 kilometers along the shoreline with a very pleasant view. This hotel is convenient to the areas we came to visit. The hotel common areas were modern and there was a restaurant and an indoor pool. The staff presented as professional and were friendly and courteous. Cons: The hotel rooms need refurbishing of the paint and the carpet has stains. The bathroom needs to have the counters and fixtures replaced. Luggage handling is the guests responsibility from the lobby to their room. Restaurants other than the hotel restaurant are a bit far to visit if you lack a car although taxis can be easily summoned. The hotel also charges extra to use the indoor pool, which could have been included with room rental, and felt as if the hotel seemed overly concerned with “nickels and dimes”. The restaurant buffet offerings and items in the stocked room fridge are a bit pricey. The foods offered by the hotel restaurant, exclusive to the buffet, were less appetizing than hoped for. Considering all, In overview, the Hotel Hyundai Gyeongju in South Korea is a well appointed, though time worn, hotel in the quiet, historically significant, countryside in Gyeongu, South Korea. If you are visiting Gyeonju, most probably your interest will be to see the UNICEF monuments and not to spend your time overly critiquing this conveniently located, comfortable hotel. We booked our room 2 months in advance and are pleased. If you consider staying at the Hotel Hyundai Gyeonju I suggest booking early as it is difficult to find an opening without booking, at least, a few weeks in advance.

The room was big, but I didn’t like the twin beds. The bathroom was nice, but with only one bath towel. We called and it was brought to the room immediately. View to the lake and amusement park. Polite staff. Breakfast was OK, but nothing special. No help with luggage.
