We had three nights here as a family in the two bedroom suite and it was nice. The staff were very accommodating and the rooms were good. There was a small kitchen but no utensils or crockery. The lounge was lacking a couch but did have some more traditional seats. Good value.
I first have to say how helpful the family was with our stay and helping us navigate the city. We started off in a double room then moved to the Pension for our stay and have to say the rooms are very clean and well appointed. Centrally located allowed us to walk and explore.
Room itself was fine and a pretty big room with table and chairs. Room cleaning service everyday and luggage storage available too. But the owners do not speak English and communicating with them was very hard. It was difficult to get any tourist information because of it. Also not much happening or eating places nearby. But definitely a good value for money, if visiting Gyeongju.
The hotel was off the main road but relatively easy to get to from the train or bus stations. Sometimes our cab drivers would need to call the hotel for specifics but it showed how important it was to keep the hotel taxi card with us. A couple of restaurants were nearby as well as a market. Our room was a little on the small side with the shower on one side and the sink, toilet on the other. Shoes were not allowed in the room and slippers were provided for our use. Amenities included hair dryer, TV, AC, a small refrigerator and water bottles every day (delivered with our new towels and hung on the door). The beds were on the ground but were comfortable. Breakfast was hosted in the lobby and was quite simple with toast, cereal, some fruit and orange juice. A coffee machine was also available with a water dispenser. It was a good start for the day. Also in the lobby were small packets of facial cleanser and lotions and maps. Our host did not speak a lot of English but was helpful in calling taxis, providing voltage adapters and giving some restaurant recommendations or directions. Access to the elevator required the room key card. A small parking area was located across from the lobby that could accomodate a few cars. Overall a great bargain for our stay in Gyeongju.…
We picked up this place for its a good location. My room was rather small, but it was clean. Wifi speed was also good. They offered also the breakfast, but it was for us too modest and we decided to eat outside of the hotel.
This small hotel was a great place to stay for us (non-Korean speaking visitors). It was easy to walk to the large market, the bus station and restaurants. The owner went above and beyond, even driving us with all our luggage. The location is tucked away so it was initially difficult to find. Rooms were spotless and charming. I had a single, small, but good value. I highly recommend this guesthouse for a visit to Gyeongju.
We picked this place due to the proximity to our friends apartment which was pretty much opposite but were not disappointed. The place is so classy and much more elegant than the images displayed. We also had 2 showers, 1 seemed more for the westerners and was huge and the other for the Asians as it was right next to the toilet. I feel that they could have made the westerner shower smaller and used the space for a wardrobe or something else or not even have had it at all because i love how they make use of their space by combining the toilet and shower. We had an actual queen size bed which had fresh clean sheets and pillows. There are even harnesses in the room in case your hotel catches on fire! We were impressed by this. We were also given fresh towels and bottles of water left on our door everyday too which was lovely. I think it would be great if they added toilet paper to the basket as I literally had to borrow from our friends down the road and also one of the showers smelt like smoke probably from previous users which was a let down. You also only get 1 room card which can be a pain if one of you leave the room and have to depend on the other to get in (like I did several times). We never tried the breakfast as we always left early or slept in. In all, the owner was super friendly and ALWAYS ALWAYS ready to help, even when we would just walk past the admin area he would always stand up ready for us. We would definitely return to this place.…
I stayed in this guesthouse for 3 nights when visiting Gyeongju. I was travelling with family and they picked this place and I went with it. It is a local family run place that live on the top floor of the building. We shared a room with 3 beds. The rooms look new and clean and surprisingly had two showers. It is the type of room where the mattresses are rolled out on the floor so no actual beds. Once the mattresses are rolled out, there isn't that much space, especially with our suitcases open, but we managed fine. Wifi works well and so does the air con. It wasn't that hot outside, but the room can get stuffy so we usually ran the air con. A word of warning- the showers don't have windows (only a fan), so remember to keep the door open when not in use. We didn't one evening and it did get smelly. A simply breakfast of toast and eggs are included. I don't tend to eat breakfast usually but my family does so that's what they told me was served. Location is good since it is around the corner from the night market and also walking distance to a lot of the main historical sights around Gyeongju. We walked most places but this would probably be an ideal place to rent a bike to get around to all of the sites faster. It is also walking distance to the bus station and to the local train station (not the KTX train station which is out of town). The hotel owner did a complimentary favour for us one evening and drove us and another guest to the Dongung palace where they put on the evening lights. So that was really appreciated after an already long day of visits around town. So I very much recommend staying at this place if you are looking for a simple, good value, clean and friendly place to stay.…
Family run. The guy in charge could not do enough for us. Excellent value and breakfast very good. The location is quiet but walkble to all main attractions. Room excellent. Good WiFi and all amenities
