This hotel gets very hot. They do not allow you to adjust the temperature in your room and lie to you the AC is broken. They tell you to open the windows (very small window barely cracks open) and recommend they bring a fan to you. This is very ghetto and I would not stay here again.

I had a one week business trip, and my wife joined me, so a bit of a mixed-purpose trip. This was our first time in South Korea. I was slightly concerned about this hotel given some of the reviews, but we decided to give it a try, and are happy we did. While not a perfect experience, it was certainly very good, and the hotel seems to have been very responsive to past reviews. Location is, of course, quite important for a hotel. While It's challenging to figure out visually from Google Maps, the hotel is right across the street from the center of Haeundae Beach, and about 2 blocks from the main tourist strip, which leads to the Metro station, and is full of restaurants and shops. We had an ocean view room on the 8th floor, and it was quite spectacular, with a wonderful view of the entire beach. I highly recommend it. The room itself was a comfortable size, similar to a midrange hotel in the US. The floors were a solid feeling laminate which is nice from a hygiene perspective and not unpleasant to walk on. The bed was quite comfortable with a down-like comforter for a "top sheet" and good pillows. Modern bathroom with a full bidet toilet (complete with ventilation system) and a half-glass shower/tub. While the shower was a bit prone to spraying water out, it was a flexible design which could accomodate my 6' height quite easily with very nice pressure, and immediate hot water. It also has one of those sliding walls with a windowed shower, allowing, if desired, someone in the shower a view out the window. Kinky, but a purely optional feature. It had a nice desk with an acceptable chair, and in addition to Wifi, offered a wired internet connection with, frankly, quite impressive bandwidth. I had a better connection to my office in the US than I do from most domestic hotels. There was also nice couch in front of the window. There were really only two minor negatives to the room. First, there is very little storage space. ie - places to stash laundry or purchases. While there is one drawer near the door, and a closet of sorts, it isn't really a lot of space. Not a major point. The other issue is one others have raised, which is the climate control. While the thermostat does respond to adjustments, it also seems to follow a preprogrammed schedule of its own. It also seems to be of limited effectiveness during certain periods of the day. We live in a warm climate, and usually keep our house at ~77F, and this was rarely worse than that, and at certain times of day would reach ~70F. However, if you are used to a cool house, you may find this uncomfortable. The limited ability to control this remains a real issue, uncommon to nicer hotels in the rest of the world. For us, it wasn't a major point. It is true also, that on checkin there was a brief wait, with the system of obtaining a number mentioned by others. However, they now had a girl stationed by the machine so foreigners could easily get a number, and if there was a mild delay due to heavy checkins, they were very apologetic. I have seen this system in a number of other mid-high tier hotels around the world, and it didn't bother me. The desk staff seems to be younger generation, and they all were quite earnest, and spoke very reasonable English, which was greatly appreciated. It seems like the pool/bar on the top floor must be closed, as we could not entice the elevator to go to that floor no matter what we did, which was a bit of a disappointment, as I expect it has a spectacular view, but this was a negligible point. There is a very nice convenience store on the first floor, which was perfect to pick up some food (we opted not to go for the buffet breakfast). Finally, airport transportation. There are purported to be shuttle busses from the airport to Haeundae, but it wasn't clear if they were actually operating, so we decided to brave the public transportation upon arrival (mid-day). It was much easier than we expected, with clear English labels most places, and the subway system is extremely clean/safe and well maintained. Simply take the light rail from the airport to Sasang, then walk to the line 2 subway entrance. Take the subway towards Jangsan/BEXCO (not towards Yangsan!). I believe it took about 45 minutes. When exiting the subway follow the signs "to Haeundae Beach", then walk along the long plaza in the direction of the beach. It is a short walk, and you will likely see quite a few others with suitcases doing exactly the same thing. If you have a flight out before about 10AM, the subway is likely impossible (doesn't open early enough). There is a Taxi stand in front of the hotel and if you ask at the front desk they will call a cab and write your destination in Korean on a slip of paper for you. We were expecting about an hour to the airport by car, but at 5 AM with no traffic it was actually only 30 minutes (and ~26,000 Won).

It’s a shame for this hotel as I believe it is a nice hotel, professional staff, in a convenient location with decent size rooms. Restaurants and cafe downstairs were excellent. I’m not fussy about the worn furniture, ripples in the wall paper, or aged tiles. The biggest issue is that you are not able to set your own room temperature - this should not be a 4 star hotel. When it’s a 30 degree hot day outside the room is set to 25 degrees. To make matters worse, at night time, the hotel conserves power from 11pm - 1am so the temperature exceeds 26 degrees in the room. I woke up sweating the first night and our kids were constantly restless due to the heat. We stayed for two nights, after the first night I had advised the reception regarding the heat where she had advised that there is nothing that she can do, but it’s the same for the entire hotel. I pay for a hotel to get a comfortable nights sleep - this was not my experience.

Great: - Loved the rooms: design and decor is cool, fantastic window seat and desk to work at. - Comfortable shower/ bath, love the glass wall between the bath and the room. - Great food options close by: the Japanese restaurant and soft serve ice cream place on the ground floor are both excellent. - Comfortable beds, flat pillows. If you are a side sleeper be aware of that. Good: - Decent location near the beach. - An adequate buffet breakfast run by very strict staff. During peak times you will queue if you're a late riser, and you might be allocated to a table - this meant some of the people in our group were unable to sit together if we did not arrive together. - Serviceable gym. OK: - No non-Korean TV options. - Pool is pay per use: about $30USD to get a keycard to enter the pool, with allocated time slots. - Command of English among reception staff can be hit and miss.

Very nice hotel which is well located near the beach and close to the eateries and the market in Haeundae. Room was clean and not too small in size. The cafe on the second floor was nice and offers buffet breakfast and lunch at a reasonable price. We had a few minor complaints: the room was slight outdated and we wished for more electric outlets (those few outlets were largely far from the beds) and later found one two-tab extension in the closet. There was no microwave in the hotel. Perhaps too popular, we had to wait long for check-in. The pool at the top floor remained closed during our stay.

Comfortable 2 night stay. Shame our agent didn’t ask for a sea view room. Room was decent size and breakfast gave plenty of choice including for Western tastes. Bar offer was amazing - shame it’s not a proper bar and is basically repurposed dining room ( same place as breakfast) but for 20000 Won per person ( about £12) was unlimited wine all evening. Beer offer was even better at £6. Compared to prices in other places this is amazing offer and good wine too

Checked in at 330p and the lobby was full of guests. Pros: location! Right across from the beach dnd lots of places to eat nearby. Bus stopped right in front of the hotel. Staff are friendly! Cons: dated rooms, older aesthetic, broken table in room, ac doesn’t work overnight but windows open. I can’t imagine what this feels like at night but for March it was pretty cool. For elderly people the shower is a large step in and out so be careful.

This hotel is in a great location right across from Haeundae Beach. The room was clean and spacious. There is a convenient store right at the bottom of the hotel for water, wine, etc. There is also a Starbucks right around the corner. The air conditioning is not strong and you are not able to put it on during certain hours, so that was not good. Other than the AC no complaints about the hotel. Lobby was big and nice to sit if you needed to. We met our tour guides every morning in the lobby where we had our breakfast since we were 4 people traveling staying in 2 different rooms.
