I agree with the other reviews that this bed and breakfast is "charming" and one of the better options if you have to stay in downtown Albany. With that said, we found the Morgan State House to be overpriced for what you get. We stayed in the main house on the 2nd Floor overlooking the park. The room itself was...

Absolutely delightful small hotel in two beautiful townhouses beside a little park in downtown Albany, New York. Exceptional staff, elegant design & architectural details, fabulously comfortable down beds & pillows. Decor and furnishings are old-fashioned and comfortable; public areas are in pristine condition, and the rooms are in good shape, with charming original touches. Very good restaurants within a block...

The old Morgan Statehouse is still the best place to stay in Albany if you are looking for something that combines luxury with character. It is a "boutique" experience - each room has it's own distinct character. I have stayed in all the rooms and would stay in any of them again. Be advised that you will be climbing some...

I have stayed at the Morgan State House twice - once about four years ago, and more recently, this November. Everyone that works at the State House is helpful, friendly and accommodating. It really does feel like you are staying at someone’s home. The rooms are just great and the beds are very comfortable, complete with lovely down bedding. The...

This house built in the 1800s is absolutely beautiful, charming and elegant. The character of the house is amazing with its original woodwork, stained-glass windows, etc. Where else can you have a library, raised bathtubs, 20ft. high ceilings with skylights right in your bedroom? Plus the staff was so friendly and accomodating. The continental breakfast is far from your typical...

last minute planning left me scrambling for a place to stay for an overnight trip to albany. so glad i checked fodor's and followed their suggestion to book at the morgan state house. parked right out front, checked in with matt (who recommended we try the wine bar and bistro on lark - delicious) and found a comfortable, clean, large...

Hi, We stayed at the Morgan State House Inn for parents weekend at RPI. It is about a 10-15 minute ride to RPI. The GPS brought us to the hotel, through some scary neighborhoods. We arrived at night. We arranged for a late arrival. At first we were somewhat confused as there were no markings on the building to indicate...

These guys "Get It." Service is impeccable and the accomodations are very homey and much better than your standard hotel. It is a brownstone with great charm and elegance and the owner is very hands on. Great restaurants are within walking distance. Although short on traditional hotel amenities (fitness center, no pool, no restaurant) it makes up for these shortcomings...

My husband and I stayed here for two nights when he was speaking at the College of St. Rose. Aside from the stairs, this historic State House is quite relaxing. We had room 4 B. Beautiful skylights, a soaking tub, exposed brick, gas fireplace and a truly comfy bed that I spent about 15 hours in recouperating from food poisoning....
