We were looking for a quite place and defenitely found it here. You only meet some fishermen at the lake and the nice staff. The food was also very yummy and pretty cheap. Unfortunately there are countless ants everywhere, in the bungalow, terrace, garden, beach. We knew it before from other reviews but couldn't imagine so many. The bungalows need...

We liked this place so much we did not want to leave and it was one of our favorite places in sumatra. The location is quiet away from the hussel and bussel and it has a private beach that is good for swimming with no fish farms. The view from our hut was breath taking. The staff are really warm...

We spent one night in here in August 2014. It takes about 200m on a narrow path in between rice fields to get there from the main road. It's about 6km from the main village, so you won't meet many people in here, but there's also no fish farms. There was a mosquito net in the room, but it had...

We took the local travel (shared taxi) from Bukittinggi and were dropped off on the roadside. There is no road access to Arlen Nova, so we carried our packs through the rice fields down to the lake. The bungalows are detached and in a garden setting, facing the lake. We had read many reviews of the accommodation around the lake,...

I have reread the reviews and agree overall. The rooms are so unclean. i had a little cupboard with bloodstained bandages inside, toothbrushes and sandals inside which suggested fisherman were sleeping there. the sheets were dirty and on our last morning it was raining heavily so doubt there would be laundry done. Cats abound and will get on the bed...

If you are looking for real comfort this may not be the best place but if you appreciate a quiet clean lake beach without fish farms on the horizon, from where you can admire the majestic range lines around the lake from the terrace of your private bungalow you'll be pleasantly surprised. Ibu Linda and the boys who run the...

We spend 2 nights in one of the cabins here. It's a bit of a mixed bag. The walk to the cabins is about 200m from the road and the staff will get your luggage for you as well as bring it back when your stay is over. There is cold water showers only in the rooms. The good: The...

On the last day of our Bukittinghi trip, we decided to go Padang Airport via Lake Maninjau. We descended from top of the hill to the lake level, stopped at many view points, and finally came to ground level. As it was lunch time by then, our tour guide took us to this place. We reached to this place by...

“The bungalow second from the beach is the best in my opinion - the first would be, but it has no front windows to the water, the second one does even if they don't both open, the others are all just that little further back and the views of the Lake are more obstructed.”
