one of old hotel at bandung. center of city, with a lil traffic jam around at noon. check in - no trouble at all, staff was helpful and we can check in without problem. long waiting elevator, really. nice ambience, large pool, spacious room. amendities - no shower gel and shampoo and toothbrush. there's a note that they don't provide those, you can request it if you want. room provided with sofabed. nice and comfy.
Stayed at this hotel around 20-21 November 2021 with my family. Got the room at 11th floor (non-smoking) for a short staycation during the pandemic. Usually, I try to give a good review, but our stay was dissapointing and I just want to share it with Tripadvisor readers, Arrived at the hotel after 8 PM. My wife went to the front desk, asking specifically a room that's not at the end of a hallway or in the corner of the building (for safety and peace of mind reasons). But when we went to our room, it's one room away from the end of a hallway and at the corner of the building. So we called the front desk and asked for another room. Waited for 30 minutes, then we got ourselves a room on the 11th floor. This one met our requirement. It's in the same hotel wing, clean and spacious with a city view. Room was OK, no funny smell, bedding was clean. But turned out we need to turn on the A/C first (and not automatically turned on when we entered our room). Nobody told us that, and we just realized about several hours after checking in. And for me, the water pressure was weak, and hot water was lukewarm/not hot enough. Then we went to sleep. The bed was comfortable, quite firm with good padding. Bedding was clean, but there are only two or three pillows with no bolsters. Soundproofing was OK, we could sleep well. In the morning, we went downstairs for the breakfast around 7 AM. I noticed thera are only several small elevators available for visitors. The main restaurant was already full, so we went to the other place (outdoor, near the pool). Then the hotel charged our 8-year old kid IDR 50k for breakfast. We have stayed in many hotels (from Melati to 5 star), but this is the first time we had to pay for our kid's breakfast. Then the quality of breakfast buffet was, for us, dissapointing. The Indonesian food tasted OK, but as for the pastries and continental menu, it was not like other 3 or 4 stars hotel. Not to mention that there were only limited options for my son (he didn't finish his food; usually he eats a lot during breakfast). On our way back to our room, we noticed that there were lots of people checking out (which is kinda strange, considering the restaurant just opened around 7 AM). Then around 10 AM, my son wanted to swim, so we went down to the pool. I wasn't feeling well that day, so my wife had the duty of looking after my son in the pool. We forgot to bring our bathing suits, so my wife & son used what we think was still appropriate for swimming. But the overzealos lifeguards had different opinion. He asked my wife, twice, to change clothing (she's wearing hijab, so still appropriately dressed). Really? That's how you treat your guests? We were not comfortable, so after a short swim we went to our room and checked out immediately. Thankfully our checkout (and when exiting the parking building) went without a hitch. In summary, what I like: - Clean room - Comfortable bed - Nice location What I don't like: - Inattentive front office - Overzealos lifeguard - Continental breakfast quality could be upgraded - Additional charge for a kid's breakfast - Small elevators (and queuing to use them) For us, I think this will be the first (and the last) time we stayed in this hotel.…
It's actually December 2019 when i last stay, it's ok and good to say if it's 4.5/5 the food was good and there is 3 pools and one of them is hot but good to swim the room was really good, it is classical feeling and there's new part of the buliding.
a huge hotel situated in the heart of Bandung City, just walking distance to the Famous Braga street where are many restaurants, cafe, and nightlife clubs. and on the other side, you may walk to Bandung Indah Plaza ~ 800 m. I really like the staff, Friendly, helpful, and initiative.
Have taken a note to have connecting rooms when doing reservation and reconfirmed to the hotel in the morning before checkin in. The staff confirmed that the connecting room would be ready at 2pm, so we came to the hotel after 2pm. Once checking in, the receptionist said that the connecting rooms were no longer available. He denied that the staff on the previous call gave that information. We asked to meet the hotel manager, but the receptionist only met us with the supervisor. The supervisor also could not give any proper explanation and solve the issue and still insist that the staff never gave that such confirmation. It seemed so difficult to meet the manager, till we forced him to escalate this issue to the manager. Eventually, the manager came to meet us and apologized for the inconvenience. The complaint handling was very bad and it was so horrible to know that the receptionist tried to keep us of to meet the duty manager.…
The room was not comfortable as it take place in front of the hallway and near the elevator. Not changeable and need to pay extra cash. No other solution or option to satisfy the costumer. Next time If I spend holiday in bandung, this will be my last option to stay.
Stay for the first time, it is because of Pandemic corona season, the staff is deduction as I was informed. We enter the room of deluxe at about 4.30 PM, instead of 2 PM. room was not ready yet. Breakfast is limited but taste good. However, el Royale must shows a good and historical hotel, as we known formerly as Panghegar hotel.
I stayed at el royale bandung for 3 nights (14-17 august) for a family wedding (the wedding also held at el royale hotel) our family booked 6 rooms all at the same price and same room type, the other 5 rooms started checking in at august 15th, so i’m a day early than the rest, at 16th morning i notice that the other rooms is completely different than mine, different facility, different size, i thought they upgraded their room but when i asked every one of them they said it’s the same type, they didn’t upgrade it whatsoever, so in the afternoon i called the front office to make sure that it is the same room, they confirmed it and then i asked why i didn’t get the same type of room? They said because it is full (note that i check in a day early) after 3 phone calls they gave me a plate of fruit as an apology, but i have to go at that night so i didn’t follow through until i came back around 9 pm i talk again with the front office, i demand the same room with the others, they told me to wait again and then the manager came down, apology again and finally gave me a different room, i don’t know what took them so long to do that, it makes me even angrier because they seem hesitant to change the room (you can see in the picture below how different the room is) it doesnt even made sense that the 2 room is the same price and same type, however the hotel itself is quite nice, the staff is friendly even when i’m constantly complaining about changing the room they keep their friendly act, the breakfast is lack of variation but the taste is okay …
