Murni's Houses tick all the boxes on so many points for a great place to stay in Ubud. There are a variety of rooms to choose from, each room giving a slightly different ambience. The furnishings, decor and artworks add to the charm of the rooms. Murni herself has been a collector of fine things for many years and part of her collection is displayed in the rooms. The hotel gardens are delightfully Balinese...very soothing and nice for a stroll. Everything is well maintained and clean. The staff are warm and welcoming, not intrusive but always on hand to help and give advice. The owners are also very nice, happy to chat and share stories. Murni is somewhat of an Ubud legend, with a sweet humour and many stories to tell. I loved my stay at Murni's. Don't forget to order Murni's Big Breakfast. I stayed in what is called The Room...great for a solo traveller or couple. …
Lovely location in central Ubud, close access to main attractions. Room clean and good space. Murni and team were very welcoming and hospitable, providing good reccomendations for evening activities in Ubud as a solo traveller - I would certainly stay with them again.
Murni’s is almost unique in Ubud! Close to Ubud central but away from the noise and crowds. Balinese character abounds in the buildings and furnishings and with a smaller number of rooms, it is cosy, quiet and welcoming. Hosts Murni and Johnathan are charming and totally helpful and their staff are always perfect in their service. Massage at the Tamarind Spa is perfect and any number of other wonderful activities are easily organised for guests. After our first visit pre-Covid, we could not wait to come back and we were just as delighted this time. We will be back!!
First: you can quarantine here! It’s a great spot for it. Stunning grounds, sweet rooms, amazing staff, perfect location. This place lived up to its reputation as one of truly authentic and long standing gems of Ubud. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Wonderful, traditional, comfortable, terrific staff and the food from Murni’s Warung is so delicious! In a quiet time in the history of Bali, thank goodness that Murni has remained open and she and the staff remain so welcoming. We are lucky.
Stayed here for an evening with a friend. Gorgeous place with lovely, kind hosts. The suite we stayed in was divine, with so many thoughtful details; it was a beautiful and memorable experience. The gardens are lush and the service was excellent; staying here is a must. I’ll be back! HIGHLY recommend staying at Murni’s.
I can't rate this wonderful hotel highly enough - from the easy booking , pick up service, quick check in, beautiful gardens, comfortable rooms and helpful staff. It's quiet and in a great location - wonderful spa. Highly recommended. I wouldn't stay anywhere else now!
A room with a view .... more of a suite really. Bathroom, bedroom, day room and balcony! Staff were very friendly and helpful Booked in for a night , stayed for three. Try Murni's resturant. Their private car will take you there. Wow!!
I was initially impressed by Murni’s awards and reviews, and was grateful to get the accommodation I needed for three weeks. When it came to hiring a taxi and I asked Murni’s for some help in terms of the best/safest way to hire a taxi and safely get to the location, the response was deliberately vague unless I hired his car service to pick me up. I hired his car as it was the first time I was going to Bali. Then the Corona Virus became a huge concern just before I left and when I attempted to communicate with Murni’s several times, the responses were either not understanding at all or I did not receive a response. I was not given the opportunity to credit my payment for another time and lost my money.
At the time of our arrival, the road was a bit bumpy in front of the hotel. So to those driving, do take note. However, entering the place was like going into a whole new area. The greeneries, statues and tranquil atmosphere made it felt more of a peaceful home rather than a hotel. it really got that Balinese vibe to it. We was greeted by the friendly receptionist who brought us to our room though it felt more like a house actually. The room was very cozy equipped with ac and fan. There was daily housekeeping to keep the place tidy and clean. Our room did not come with television but I doubt anyone needs it when there is so much to see and do in Murni's Houses alone. With addition of the spa, warung and shop, you won't need a tv. We spent the night outside in the private balcony with some coffee before going to bed. There is actually a swimming pool within the vicinity but we didn't get the chance to have a swim this time. In the morning, we ordered Murni's Big Breakfast from the reception which cost only IDR 79,000. And they even sent it to our room. Walking to Ubud center is just five minutes' walk away, so it was really convenient for us. Just at the end of the street, there is the magnificent Pura Dalem Ubud with its Kecak and Fire Dance every Monday and Friday, so don't miss that out. Overall, Murni's Houses offer great hospitality with friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere to unwind after a long day of exploring. The only downside is that we didn't get the chance to meet Murni. Will definitely revisit if had the chance!…
