I went on my first trip to Bali, alone. Not dissapointed in any way. I knew this was not a luxury resort, and it is NOT. But this place is the most special authentic and beautyfull bed and breakfast/place . From first second you feel home and safe. All staff members is so helpfull, attentive and smiling. Ketut and his family is the kindest of all, you feel so pampered. The wonderfull breakfast on your porch every morning. The Pool is clean, the old compound is placed away from noise and really well taken care off. Due to the COVID-19 i had to go home earlier than planned, but i will retur, tjans for sure. Thank you guys, for making my stay in Bali magical. Your really have a special place.
Couldn’t have asked for more. What a peaceful place. Ketut and his family are so kind and really made us feel cared for, arranging a tour for us and keeping us well fed with breakfast and our afternoon coffees by the pool. The location is ideal, close to town but quiet, and in a gorgeous local style complex. Great price point. Rooms are simple but comfortable and have lovely patios. Thoroughly recommend.
My friend and I stayed at Ketut's Place for five nights. It was our longest stop on a two week trip to Bali and we wished we had stayed longer. The ambiance and hotel grounds are some of the most stunning we had ever seen, with ornate temples, lush gardens, a gorgeous pool with a jungle river view. I loved just hanging out at the pool during rainstorms. The breakfast was good, too. Of course when you do venture out, you'll find the location is great, with lots of good restaurants and spas nearby, and a great yoga studio. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the main drags in Ubud and we were grateful to be a little off the busiest roads, while always feeling safe walking around. The room was the most spacious we had during the trip. We booked the riverview room and do want to note there was a steep flight of stairs to get down there, so keep that in mind if you choose that room. The plus is our room felt secluded and had a great view. My favorite part about Ketut's Place was the family feel. It's run by a local family who could not have been more accommodating. They helped get us a driver, Eric, for a good price when we wanted to spend a day driving around to temples and waterfalls. Eric, who happens to be part of the family, was a highlight of the trip for me, sharing so many interesting details about the area, and even showing us around Goa Gajah ( the "elephant temple") and pointing out things we would have missed. Eric and others really made us feel at home. I could go on, but this review is getting long. Know that you'll love the location, the accommodation, and the people. And stay an extra day longer than you think you'll need! It was just that good.…
Terrible service, took 2 hours for the food to be served when no other people were in the Resturant. A couple with children had to leave before their food was served. No apology was given. Would not go back to this place at all!
We stayed at Ketut's Place for 3 nights in January. The staff.could not have been more friendly and helpful. Lovely genuine smiles and warm greetings from all the team. Delicious breakfast ordered via reception and delivered at your requested time on your terrace (or eat at the restaurant if you prefer). Ketut's is calm, and peaceful. It has such a beautiful pool area. Our room was lovely with large bed and mosquito net and looked out over the jungle at the back of the property and to the side of the pool. There is a little machine in the room provided by the hotel although if mosquitoes love to feed on you make sure you take lots of bug spray! We found a good product made in Bali called Utama Spice Begone Bug, but wished we'd sourced it earlier (since found on eBay - should have gone ready prepared with it in our case!) There's also a stunning family temple located at the heart of the property - make sure you visit. The food in the hotel is very good and inexpensive if you want to eat in. If you want to venture out there's plenty on your doorstep with the closest being the restaurant directly on the other side of the road and overlooks the rice fields (nice for a different aspect) - excellent food and service, although a little more expensive Ketut's provides a shuttle bus service to Ubud town - times are displayed at reception or it's rather a nice walk if you go in the morning before the heat of the day. We were fortunate enough to have a lovely conversation with Ketut himself, a delightful man who's very hands on with his property and service. Thank you Ketut and team, you have a very special place and we highly recommend you.…
I had the chance to stay here for 5 days, and all days were amazing. With comfort food in the morning and comfortfood in the evening, good coffee and ventilated rooms for cool nights. This place has it all, from the kind staff to the luxury of staying by the poolside, reading a book and having an ice cold beer. The surroundings makes it feel like you're in a tropical forrest, while being 5 min. Walk away from the business of downtown Ubud. Wisit this place, you will not be dissapointed.
From the start the staff were very helpful coming with very kind attitude towards our family and Ketut the owner was a very humble man with great staff like Ayu, Kadek, Budi were very humble also. We started a connection towards the staff immedy especially Budi which we can now say he is like a brother from another mother lol😂 but Ayu and Kadek were very cool people too. Respect to ketut for raising very kind staff. We hope all the best to everyone and we miss you Budi hope we can meet again in Australia!👌🍻😊 PS KETUT: PLEASE PROMOTE THESE GUY!
This small compound is wonderful. It is calm, quiet and accommodating. The family that lives on the property is gentle and kind in so many ways. As a solo traveler they checked on me, helped me book places to see and adventures to take. They were more than helpful and I loved the free breakfast. The banana pancakes were great! The entire time was wonderful and relaxing. A great place to spend a holiday. Really liked the soft background Balinese music that was played throughout the compound.
Booked online, upgraded to a room with a/c on arrival. Staff helped us with baggage and was pleasantly surprised when, having notified of checkout time in advance, they turned up to help with some baggage. There are many many stairs. The place itself is beautiful and the pool is a nice place to finish up the day. However it can be difficult to get around at night as parts of the grounds are very dark. We brought a torch with us so we were ok. There are also two dogs. One is friendly. The other is not. Coming in the gate after dark and being growled at is very intimidating. I understand that dogs are part of the Balinese lifestyle but this would scare children and people who are afraid of dogs. The bed was comfortable but the bathroom needs TLC. The table in the room hadn’t been wiped in a long time judging by how many cup outlines were on it. It was a pity that the windows didn’t have screens as opening them for the breeze let in many many bugs. There were already many many ants. I would not do washing here. It took much longer for it to be done than other places and the desk staff claimed the price in the book in the room was incorrect and that the correct price was 225% of the price in the book. The included breakfast was ok. …
Very nice bed and breakfast accommodation built in Balinese style. The food could be taken in the dining room or on the veranda, from which you have a wonderful view of the garden with its tropical plants and the swimming pool. The rooms are lovingly furnished .
