I always come back here when I visit Ubud. The main entrance is by the street (so it's convenient for drop off and pick up) but the back door opens into the rice paddies where you can take peaceful walks along cafes, yoga studios, spas, art galleries, stores with no car insight. The property is really big, with endless gardens,...

Get the impression this place has been resting on its laurels for a while given the popularity of the Ubud region. The building we stayed in as well as the reception area were very tired and the pool could have been cleaner. The staff is very friendly but let us down a few times when they said they'd find out...

Great place for travellers wanting a more tranquil place to stay. The gardens are huge and well maintained. The rooms are big and clean with a bit of a rustic Bali feel. The pool area is great for families as well as solo travellers wanting to just read a book. Staff were friendly. Wifi connection can be a bit erratic...

I stayed in Melati Cottages when flights were cancelled back to Australia due to the Volcanic Ash cloud. The Staff and the designated driver for Melati, Ketut could not have made my ordeal easier. They were so supportive and kept my room in case the flight would be cancelled again. I loved the atmosphere and the Balinese hospitality. Big thank...

I was traveling with family, booked the room from their online booking website. The first impression was really good with welcoming staffs as they told me almost of the staffs are relative and they live together around the village compound. I feel the Balinese family atmosphere here. High recommended these place for family vacation.

I chose Melati from an older Lonely Planet, and was so glad I did! After staying here alone, I returned with friends. I love the peace of the cottages, the super friendly staff (I second how fabulous Whyan is, from the other review), and the lovely walk down to Ubud. The breakfast is really good!

We were in Bali traveling with a group for sacred dance and sightseeing, and so we didn't choose our accommodations, but coincidentally a friend who has been to Bali many times always stays at the Melati and was very enthusiastic about both the place and the staff. And we couldn't agree more! Stayed here for two weeks and would LOVE...

We arrived to a greeting by Whyan who new our names. He is always helpful and willing To point you in the right direction. We stayed 4 nights on the second floor which had views of a small rice field and the building is surrounded by a pond with large coy fish that splash around at night. Room was very...

I am fortunate to have stayed at Melati Cottages many times, which should be testament enough, but it’s time I wrote a review in gratitude. Melati is one of the first accommodation places established near Ubud in the village of Penestanan. Its rustic charm set amongst stunning, natural gardens provides a feeling of the traditional blended with the required modern...
