We wind up most trips to Bali by spending a few days in Ubud, the island's cultural capital. We'll have been scuba diving out in the boondocks, so while we outgas we like to get a little more urban, and Ubud fits that bill. Its business is tourism, just as Kuta's is, but here it's cultural tourism, with some of...

My husband and I stayed at Cendana in October and had a fabulous stay. We loved the location. It is located right on Monkey Forest rd, close to lots of restaurants and shops, but set far enough back that it is quiet and overlooks the beautiful rice fields. The breakfast is fantastic...we loved the banana jaffles! There are two pools,...

We've booked the villa with two bed room with a nice size of swimming pool. It was just for 2 nights and we are quite delight with place. They decorated enough not over the top nonsense Balinese style. My partner seem enjoyed the place itself and we have a small corner of kitchen and enough to make ourself coffee or...

This was my third visit to the Cendana, having stayed previously in the Standard and Superior rooms, now it was time to try the Deluxe Rooms. Booking was made directly via the Cendana website, and I was offered a discount at the time of booking. Payment was required in full via Paypal to secure the booking. The Deluxe Rooms are...

We spent 6 nights at Cendana last week and found it to be really good value for the price. We had a deluxe room at the far end of the property, large, clean, comfortable room with huge bathroom. Very clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Only slight downside is the building work underneath so it was a bit of a...

We stayed in the Cendana Resort in Ubud for one week in Sept 2011 and loved it. It was a lovely 3 Star hotel that had everything we needed. We stayed in the upper back corner and it was great. Great decor, great a/c and great balcony. The grounds are immaculate and the staff extremely helpful. Hidden down a long...

The first impression was not too good when first arrived (but we reached very late, about 10plus at night). So maybe were too tired too. After 4 nights of stay, I conclude that this is not a bad hotel, given the tranquility of the place, the staff services and the look and feel. There are some nahs, but overall I...

You wouldn't expect this hotel in the center (right in the middle of Monkey Forest road) of Ubud. The standard rooms we had, were more than we expect when it's called 'standard'. The two rooms were at the second floor of balinese 'cottages', with lovely porches overlooking the rice fields. Two nice swimming pools and one of them, a salt...

Cendana Resort and Spa provides the perfect blend of western convenience and eastern exotica. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast buffet offered reasonable choice and two very nice swimming pools. The spa was cheap for facials and massages. Rooms closest to reception are also closest a live music venue which provided its patrons with 80s hits with plenty of bass...

I stayed here for 3 nights with my 78yo mother and 22yo niece and we all loved it. It was in a great location on Monkey Forest Rd about halfway between the markets and the Monkey forest and just far enough off the street to be nice and quiet making the beautifully manicured gardens and pools overlooking the rice paddies...
