Natural ambience! good healthy vibes! monkey forest is nearby! Its a very convenient spot to stay and travel around Ubud. Staff were friendly and overall service - good level! recommended place! cheers!
Wow, what a location. Not only his it a beautiful traditional style hotel, it is so close to the Monkey Forest that the monkeys visit daily. Beautiful and friendly staff with 2 pea careful pools. Highly recommended.
Very dissapointed as this place had good reviews. The grounds and pool area were nice. Fantastic massage. But the rooms are very average, and in need of a make over. The shower heads need to be replaced as it only spits out water and most of the time no water pressure. The food is very average, breakfast very basic and the cocktails taste like rocket fuel not pleasant.
Brief background for context. Traveling South East Asia as a couple (30 years old) on a budget of $100(US) per day ($700 per week) Irish and Canadian, accountants in the Caribbean in a previous time. Grew up as a scout so no stranger to back packing. Price was reasonable, staff very friendly and helped organised transport and excursions from the front desk. Pool and surrounding area is beautiful. Negative points - Pool bar restaurant needs a haircut on price. use the main restaurant same price but the food is worth the money there. As mentioned to the front staff walls are paper thin and we had a baby crying all night and early morning on our last two nights. Hard one to deal with but still I got no sleep that night. As mentioned by other reviews it is currently having some construction done. So construction all day and a baby crying all night was a bad combo. Shame on the parents for allowing to to go unresolved for such a length of time also, Lastly as a point for management. The monkeys coming part and parcel with the resort are a nice additions but when they have little brawls in the lobby the seem to poop everywhere. We waited for a shuttle bus in the lobby for 40 minutes and I can honestly say it took the staff 20-30 minutes to remove this. I note that most staff where young so more a point for your management team to lead them. Sorry one more point. The shuttle we got was organised by the front desk. We were leaving from Ubud to the Gili Islands . The bus was super cramped with no air con and heat from the engine come up through a huge hole in the plastic. When we got there the company did not stop us at the port but brought us over to a restaurant to "check in" . It was all a ploy to get us to eat in the restaurant. The ferry was stated to go at 1pm although it actually was scheduled to go at 1.30. The shuttle owners just wanted us there to eat at their restaurant. We had the stand in the sun for 40 minutes before we were told to go over where the other 80% of people where at the dock. Apologies on the rant. Once construction is complete I would say you cannot get more central in Ubud and it was higher than expectations if I am honest if only speaking about the resort and not the other grievances above.…
This was my fourth stay here and I must say I was very disappointed this time, as we have always enjoyed previous visits. We checked into room & found no towels in room. Upon request we were given towels, but no bath mat or hand towels. Next day we were given towels but no bath mat or hand towels again. I went to reception to request, and was met with disinterest in my complaint. Dirty cups were not changed in room. Water pressure in shower was non existent so we had to shower over bath which resulted in water all over the bathroom. Overall shabby room service & room quality. Not sure if there is a shortage of staff due to tourism being down, or just staff that have not been trained well in their roles. On the plus side position is great in the centre of town & near to Monkey Forrest. Not sure if I would stay here again. …
