Thank you so much to all the Alam staff!!! What a beautiful surprise Alam Jiwa was! The staff are absolutely incredible they are all so kind and attentive and make you feel like family. The resort is quiet and big, the room was gorgeous, also super big and the bed was super comfy. I loved the indoor/outdoor shower vibe with views out into the jungle. And there is a bath!!! OMG Yes!! The whole resort was well maintained. The pool was really clean and the whole garden surrounding it was so pretty. The breakfast was also amazing! Will be back for sure! Thanks again!
I had such a good time at Alam Jiwa. The staff were super nice and helpful. It was build, run and owned by a Balinese family so you get the a real Balinese experience. Visually is is gorgeously made and the location in the jungle is peaceful. I stayed in the wooden villa and I totally enjoy the big backyard with fountain, fishes, gazebo big balcony with view on the rice fields. We also had a good view on the sunset. We loved taking a bath in the semi outdoor shower 🛁 I recommend!
This was my second stay at an Alam property having enjoyed Alam Indah previously. I asked for a ground floor room due to a foot injury and loved sitting on my outside veranda enjoying the garden and rice field views. It even had a day bed which was ideal due my limited mobility. It was a lovely quiet place to relax and recuperate. Transport was available to nearby restaurants as there is no restaurant attached but a quality breakfast and complimentary afternoon tea is provided. I would be very happy to return to Alam Jiwa and their friendly staff in the future when travel is able to resume after the corona virus.
What an amazing place! Very very quiet, away from the traffic and hustle of Ubud, but the shuttle service was fast and reliable. The setting was absolutely beautiful, overlooking rice fields and rain forest. We knew breakfast was included but how lovely they bring it right to your balcony with a smile and a very warm greeting. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We can't say enough about Alam Jiwa, Ayu and Nick. Thank you so much for the best holiday of our lives.
We took a long time to decide where to stay in Ubud and did lots of research. I am delighted to say this paid off to a large extent and Alam Jiwa was as close to paradise as we have ever been. I am nowhere near eloquent enough to describe the amazing experience we had here but will do my best. Location – good. The beautiful grounds are in a small village which translates literally to yellow coconut. It is possible to walk into the centre of town and this would take about 40 minutes to the palace. To do this, you would go on a path that runs alongside monkey forest. The path is open 24 hours a day but might be quite tricky in the dark so take a torch. Otherwise, use the excellent shuttle bus service which runs between the town and the three Alam hotels. Simply give them half an hours notice and they will collect you any time of day and it is very reliable. We used it lots. Accommodation – we had beautiful accommodation overlooking the rice fields and I cannot stress just how private it was. We barely saw another guest during our four day stay here. The layout and decor are traditional Balinese and it is simply stunning. The air-conditioning could be slightly better but other than that it was just sensational (there is also a ceiling fan). Everything you need for a comfortable stay except for a kettle! This isn’t a problem though because, at any time of day, they will bring you fresh tea of many varieties along with coffee and cakes. We thought it would be awkward occasionally asking for this but it never was as the staff just cannot do enough for you. We spent nearly all our time on our Veranda which was stunning. The most incredible views of the rice fields and very comfortable indeed. It’s had a wonderful seating area, very good fridge, table and chairs where they will serve you breakfast and so on. We spent ages outside just enjoying the tranquillity in the morning, evening and sometimes even the afternoon. Pool – absolutely beautiful. During our four days there we were just about the only people who used it and it must be one of the most attractive ones we’ve ever seen anywhere. Plenty of sun loungers and shade. Wonderful for cooling off after exploring in the hot sun. Wi-Fi – not the fastest we had during our time in Bali but that is hardly the point. You don’t come to this kind of place to stream videos and so on. In fact, they politely let you know that playing music outdoors and so on isn’t permitted which is a fantastic thing in my opinion. Food – you order breakfast in advance and it was excellent. We always went for the traditional Balinese things and the banana pancakes were delicious as was the local rice puddings. The coffee is superb and you have a choice of delicious juices. It can be served on your veranda, in the dining area or by the pool. Staff – simply wonderful. They care so much about you having a good time and are both unobtrusive and omnipresent at the same time! If you want something you get it quickly and in a very friendly way. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.…
