My first impression when check in is just okay.. but when they brought me to my room, it was perfect!! I was asking for a good view from my room and I wanna see all greeneries as I am in Ubud... And yes.. thats what i got. I can see the rice field in front of my bed. Also, when Im at the dining room, opened my laptop and worked. Really made me feel that I wanna move here. The room itself is big, bath room with bath tub and separate shower. Amenities were not so good, better bring all your toiletries. They have dining room and big fridge and also living room next to the dining room, so you can enjoy the view. A private pool is there and I enjoyed it too.. but breakfast is something that they need to fix.. not so nice..

I feel very conflicted here as the people here are beautiful and very friendly. The gardens, statues, flowers, massage therapy, pool and outdoor dining area are beautiful. Its such a shame that the rooms themselves are absolutely disgusting! We had 2 rooms, 1 for us and 1 for our children. As soon as we opened the doors the rooms stuck of mould and stale. The curtains were filthy! the doors had gaps so we saw spiders run in and out, not good if you have a fear of spiders! the aircon was filthy, i would of cleaned it out if i could reach it. The tv was on a wall which you couldnt see from the bed, but it didnt matter as the reception was terrible. the childrens tv worked better so that was a bonus for them. The worst bit was the bathrooms, i nearly vomited from the smell! they were brown stained, mouldy and overall disgusting.
Such a shame, if they did proper cleans, a bit of paint and maintenance this would be a lovely hotel and i would love to come back to,

A very traditional hotel and like all reviews need a bit need of renovation. We stayed for 4N .We were 2 ladies travelling on our first trip to Bali. The hotel is in an ideal location as its very near the town facilities. The staff are extremely nice and hospitable. We chose a room with pool view .The room had the bathroom and shower facility down and you need to climb creaky wooden stairs to the bedroom(ie Luggage will be carried through these stairs). Though room was clean we found it small and bit congested but its still value for money. Room has a seating area up and down on both floors. Unfortunately there is a free for all access to the below washroom and on our second night we felt scared that someone was using our washroom downstairs .However the staff were very prompt and upgraded our room to a better one (rice field view) which was amazing. Food for breakfast was good and fresh. Wonderful hotel staff too. As its a tropical place you need to expect all sorts of creatures(lizards to mosquitos) .Pools were clean and well maintained .The bathroom were clean but with rusty pipes. Hot water was available We loved the whole vibe the hotel has .Would come back but would prefer the second room(rice field view) more. The front desk staff especially (Dewa?)was really good. There is a buggy cart to take you around the hotel grounds and rooms.

Booked 3 nights, only ended up staying for one. We stayed in the private villa room. We woke up with bites on our bodies. After checking the bed, we found lots of dark spots in the mattress. If you are someone who values cleanliness like I do, you will not enjoy your stay at this resort. The staff said they would refund our stay but never contacted us. Really do not recommend.

Let me start by saying this hotel is nowhere near worth the price we paid. They are charging top end prices for a room that you couldn’t pay me to stay in!! Be warned, it looks nothing like the photos and there are no rice fields.

We cut our ubud trip short by 2 days as we couldn’t stay here any longer. I will list just a few issues:

Insect and gecko poo everywhere on arrival. We had to clean it up ourselves then and every morning thereafter.

Outdoor living area completely run down and unusable. We were counting on being able to use this to cook some meals and save money - we couldn’t. The handle on the outside door fell off when we tried to use it. This was not fixed by the cleaners but actually kicked under a bush.

The room was disgusting. Dirt and mould everywhere.

We removed all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures from our room as the doors are not sealed properly and leave quite a large gap open to the outdoors. We removed ants trails, frogs, lizards, centipedes but the one thing we could not remove was the VERY LOUD Tokay Gecko. All of this is expected in the jungle but can be easily helped with properly sealed rooms. It was horrific and we could not sleep due to this.

The tokay gecko kept us up all night and I had 5 hours sleep in 3 days. Ruining our ubud stay as I was too tired to do anything and so fearful of being in the room as they are aggressive and bite.

The room is so run down and there are no ricefield views as promised. It’s dusty, dirty, outdated, the pool is unusable as it’s so dirty, mould in the bathroom, holes and gecko poo on the mosquito net, our towels were not changed once during our stay.. oh the list goes on.

At night, the walkway to the Villa is not lit up and there are rats, frogs, snakes and lots of weird sounds coming from the overgrown fields. It is also close to the monkey forest so very dangerous if you encounter an aggressive monkey alone at night on an unlit path.

Overall this is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in and it is a lot more expensive than most in ubud. Please please do not book here it is not worth it and it will ruin your ubud experience.

SERIOUS renovations are needed and all rooms need to be sealed and cleared of geckos/pests or you need to bring your price down to no more than £10 a night with the notification of the insect and reptile problem. It is just a completely unacceptable room at the moment as it is an extremely uncomfortable stay.

We have now lost alot of money for the 2 days that we could not stay for (no refund given) and we obviously had to book a new hotel.

We sincerely apologize for the extremely disappointing experience you had during your stay at our hotel. Your feedback is deeply concerning, and we take it very seriously. We regret that we were unable to provide you with the quality and comfort you expected and deserved. Your detailed description of the issues you encountered is deeply troubling. We completely understand your frustration with the cleanliness, maintenance, and pest-related problems you faced in your room. This is not the experience we aim to provide, and it is clear that we fell short in multiple areas during your stay. We acknowledge that the presence of geckos and other creatures in the jungle surroundings can be expected, but it is our responsibility to ensure that our rooms are properly sealed and maintained to minimize such inconveniences for our guests. We are committed to addressing these issues immediately and thoroughly. Regarding the outdoor living area, the condition you described is unacceptable, and we apologize for the inconvenience it caused you. Our aim is to provide a comfortable space for our guests to relax and enjoy their stay. We appreciate your feedback about the unlit walkway to the Villa and the safety concerns that arose from it. We will take steps to improve the lighting and security in the area to ensure the safety of our guests. Your comments have highlighted critical areas that require immediate attention, and we are committed to implementing necessary renovations and improvements. We also apologize for the lack of a refund for the days you could not stay with us. Please know that your feedback is invaluable to us, and we will use it to make significant changes to the property and our services. We hope that you might consider giving us another opportunity in the future to provide you with the experience you expected and deserve. Once again, we apologize for the significant disappointment you experienced during your stay with us. Sincerely, [Rita Purnama] [Front Office Coordinatoor]

We booked our room via AirBnB (Kecamatan Villa) and were told that we had a garden view pool villa room.
We arrived to be shown to a room where the pool filter was not working so the pool was starting to tuned green, the bathroom smelled strongly of mustiness and was dark and dingy and the fridge was mouldy. We were putting a brave face on it and were just going to try to put a brave face on it but when we went to leave to get some lunch and found out that the safe did not work properly, the key only worked on one door and the villa gate could not be locked we were really disappointed. So, we went for lunch and on our way politely asked the front desk to resolve the issues while we were out.

When we came back no one would make eye contact with us so we just went back to the room and decided to pack up. While we were there someone did come to get the pool filter working but by then it was too late, the general dirtiness of the villa was too much for us,

The only bright spark is that they didn’t argue with us about a refund. What disturbs me is that they just took us to a room that was not fit to stay in. We have stayed in other places that are a bit run down and I understand that COVID would have been hard. Maybe it used to be nice before COVID but they could at least keep it clean!!

We had an amazing stay at private pool villa in Amatara agung Raka. Location is just too good and the host Sri was really very sweet and helpful throughout our stay. It's a beautiful property in Ubud with so many cafes, market and tourist places nearby.
Only suggestion is to add more options in breakfast menu, specially American.
Overall satisfied with the stay!
Thank you Amatara.

Don’t come here! Beautiful scenery, with dirty rooms and an aggressive general manager.

The room is extremely dirty. The floor was dirty and there were dead and alive bugs lying around. The bed had holes and stains. The bathroom was mouldy. The guy that checked us in spoke 2 words in English. He showed us some other rooms after raising these concerns, those were even worse smelling like mould, urine or both.

It was so dirty I didn’t dare to take my shoes of or lie on the bed or touch anything actually.

Booking.com told us we could cancel and leave and they would try their best negotiating with the accommodation to wave the cancellation fee. General manger Rita is very unfriendly and even a little aggressive. Not only did she not want to waive the fee, she didn’t want to see the room. After showing her pictures she told us she considers this clean. She told us she was not into a lot of talking we just had to pay. By the way booking.con did 0 best in negotiating waiving our fee, they just said oh Rita says you have to pay so pay.

Rita said we had to pay because we stayed 1 night. We didn’t. We checked in at night, after 1 minute we were ready to leave but the guy did not understand English and told us to speak to someone else in the morning.

I had booked to stay here for 42 nights and I stayed for 1 night, it was truly awful!

Everything was dirty and the hotel clearly is not ready to be open to customers. There was animal faeces everything throughout the lobby of the room I was staying in and the staff clearly don't seem to clean either. My room was infested with ants, both small and big ones. The restaurant is not actually open so for food you can either go outside the resort or order in but this was not communicated before arrival. Many of their rooms are not functioning and they describe a "project" which is basically lots of drilling noise and a faulty water pump which makes a very loud noise throughout the night.
I would really not recommend staying here at all!!

Dear Charlotte, Warmest greetings from Amatara Agung Raka, First of all, thank you very much for spent your valuable time to write a review. We would like to extended our sincere gratitude for have been staying with us, we do apologize about unconfortable during your stay. Because your review is published, we want to clarify : 1. When first time you arrive to check in, our front desk staff informs you that due to a maintenance project on your original booked room type via Agoda (your original booking in the deluxe room garden view), will be upgraded during your stay to the highest type 2 bedroom private pool villa at no additional cost at all. 2. After the check-in process is complete, I also accompany you with the front desk staff to see the 2 bedroom private pool villa. After seing the villa, you refuse the offer for a free upgrade from your original booking, with the reason that you are affraid because the bathroom is semi open air style. So you decide to stay in the room according to your booking, even though I have explained that you will disturbed by the sound of drilling machine, dust and carpentary tools due to project in our deluxe rooms category 3. You finally decided to stay in the deluxe room based on your original booking, so that complaints appeared as you wrote. 4. You ask the front desk to help you to cancel your booking at Agoda, because your booking is non-refundable then there must be an approval from me as general manager so that your booking can be canceled but still subject to 1 night charge because you are stay with us 1 night instead of 42 nights on your booking 5. For the faeces of animals, ants etc, we realize that because we are located in the middle of rice fields and nature it very difficult, but we will try our best such as renting pest control regularly to minimize complaint related of this. However all of our guest review is positive feed back for us to improve our service to the guest Best Regards, Agung Sinar

Me and my partner stayed at this resort one night and we were amazed by the beauty inside this resort. The Balinese atmosphere is very thick and calming even though we are in the middle of the city. This resort made us feel as if we were away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Too bad we only booked for one night because we had a reservation at another hotel. We will come back when visiting Bali next year.
