I stayed here for a night after walking around Ubud trying to decide where to stay. Happened to walk a bit further out of the central city area and up a hill and felt a pull to this hotel after peeking through the gateway. Walked in to ask at the counter and was quoted a standard price which was above my budget but then checked online and got a super good deal with Agoda.com for a night’s stay. Always worth checking the travel apps for better prices. Loved the books and reading/sitting area around the foyer as I entered. Probably what enticed me to stay, although I didn’t spend any time reading while here. Made it feel cozy somehow. As you walk further in past reception you will completely leave the street behind and immerse yourself in the best feature of this hotel- the gardens. Perfectly maintained and immaculately manicured, the lush surroundings are very inviting and are perfect surroundings for the 2 swimming pools available on this property. Thought it was really a bonus to have 2 pools as I got the main pool to myself the entire morning as the guests in the different bungalow used the pool directly in front of their rooms. The rooms are nice with large windows. Mine was overlooking the garden. I thought it was really decent and loved the outdoor bathroom- the bathroom opens up to natural light in a corner with its own small garden. There is also a wide concrete bathtub which is also a plus but decided to use the pool and save water instead. They also provide portable racks outside the room for hanging your towel or wet clothes which is thoughtful. Also appreciated the fact that the bungalows look like they are well maintained. Breakfast was basic and just as other guest have pointed out. You can choose between an omelet, a Balinese fruit pancake (not European fluffy ones & also comes with 2 slices of French toast), or a sandwich. This is also accompanied by a fruit juice of your choice (from the menu) blended to order. Decided to go for the papaya juice which was ok but must mention the welcome drink (sun melon) I got on arrival which was exceptional! I noticed that the hotel is also a spa and noted that the prices of their massages, facials, etc were very reasonable for a ‘hotel’. Would’ve definitely booked to have one if I had stayed longer. The spa building beside the main pool looked well maintained and very nice. Overall I liked the location which was away from central Ubud but right next to Zest (a good landmark as a great vegetarian/vegan restaurant) and a relatively doable walk from town. Would def be a contender for me to stay at on my next visit.

We stayed in a superior deluxe room at the back of the hotel overlooking the pool. It was a good sized room with balcony. The room was clean. The outside bathroom's shower had a bit of a mould issue but considering it's an outside shower it was nothing of concern. The shower pressure and temp were always good except for one morning when the gas cylinder ran out but replaced immediately. The bathroom has lots of river pebbles for that "Ubud" look however difficult to clean have collected sand, broken glass, dental floss etc. Bit gross. if you read this De munut lift the pebbles and give the area a thorough clean😳. De Munut is blissfully away from the main shopping area but a comfortable walk for the reasonably fit. ( possibly 1 km). There are enough good eateries around the corner to save you the walk in Ubud central for dinner. We originally booked for five nights stayed for seven and didn't eat in Ubud central once. De munut is very close to the rice field walks and Bintang supermarket ( a 10 minute walk?). Brekkie was adequate. We would definitely go back.

We stayed at this hotel for four nights and loved it. The staff is very friendly and helpful, our deluxe room was very spacious and clean, with fresh towels and complimentary bottled water delivered every day. The balcony was a nice touch, although I would have preferred a veranda downstairs (our room was on the first floor). The outdoor pool was great, the breakfast area was also very nice and the whole property had a really great vibe to it. You’re very close to the center and yet just far enough from all the noise and traffic. We did hear some noise on the roof at night because monkeys were climbing over it doing god knows what, but it didn’t bother us really. We found it rather amusing.

Stayed for 3 nights here and found it to be very comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff, good location and comfortable rooms. Fairly basic so only gets a 4* rating but would definitely recommend as there is nothing to criticize.

De Munut is located at the Campuhan area of Ubud.. away from the busy town centre yet still near enough to walk if one does not mind walking. It has a large ground with two pools, a spa and a breakfast eating area. My Deluxe room is large, comes with a balcony and a spacious bathroom with a stone bath.. the decor is typically Balinese yet quite modern. Breakfast was not great but ok. The service was good and attentive, they attended to my aircon and light bulb problem immediately. To me however the walk to ubud town ya a bit far with no proper pathway, and in the dark is really not conducive . But I really enjoyed my room, and the ambience and surrounds of the resort. Had a wonderful 5-day stay there and reluctant to leave.

We have had a super stay here!!! A great rate, a stunning property, a beautiful room, friendly and helpful staff. Our room was cleaned very well every day. Love the location... It's perfectly located, and as central as it was peaceful and remote for us.. we don't like living in the thick of the hustle bustle, yet we like being close enough to everything. Some of the best restaurants are a couple minutes walks away - Zest, Alchemy, Bridges etc... It's easy to walk down to the shops in town too, and the Ridgewalk isn't too far away either ... No place else we will stay at when we return to Ubud.

We were welcomed by such lovely, kind, and helpful staff members! The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous, beautiful garden and pools. The location could not be more ideal. Just a 5-10 minute walk to the ridge walk and even less time to other restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay again!

Where to start ! This is in a great location and was no doubt a great resort in its time but.....that time has passed and it is not a place to stay long term , maybe a couple of nights. Cleanliness is lacking in the rooms and especially the bathrooms , staff never clean around the sink or the toilet , soap is never changed , the towels look and are old , you get the same 2 glasses and cups for the whole 8 nights and the staff do not clean them, only rinse them and turn them over and place them around the dirty taps. There is no mini bar and the only alcoholic drink is “Bintang” and that is in limited supply cold , do not be fooled by the “Resort” as it is not! The breakfast is ok but do not expect a buffet , it gets very boring after 9 days and you get 1 juice and 1 choice of breakfast ,you also better get to like strawberry jam because that is the only choice you will have!! The staff are friendly and constantly sweep all day long when perhaps they should be paying more attention to cleaning the rooms. The pools are clean enough. The spa treatments are pretty good and reasonably priced but the whole hotel is lacking and run on a shoe string budget, you need to ask for things to be cleaned or replaced...for instance we had to use the coffee mugs for wine one evening and the cleaners simple turned them over and placed them on the saucers without replacing them...naturally there was an ant trail leading to the mugs! This place only just makes it as a hotel and is set in a beautiful location , shame really but we would not return unless there was a change there. Also they do change money for you but rarely have any to change !

Stayed here with family (6 people) and we all loved this place!!! The staff are amazing, so very friendly and helpful - this was our experience of all staff including reception staff, breakfast staff, room attendants, grounds staff & room service staff. The rooms are a little bit dated but they are very spacious, clean with good quality linen & towels. The air-conditioning and WiFi in the rooms is excellent and we all loved our open-air bathrooms. The grounds and the two pools are very well maintained. The pools are perfect temperature and nestled in tropical gardens. Each room was a bit different but they all had a very nice veranda space and outlook to spend time relaxing. Good selection of breakfast options (order from menu, not buffet) for omnivores but limited options for vegans (pure vegetarian). A few vegan options added to the menu would be great. We loved the proximity to Alchemy and Zest which both offer fantastic vegan food which even the omnivores in the family adored! This hotel is a short walk from the start of the Campuhan Ridge Walk, which is lovely to do in the cool of early morning. We all enjoyed staying a little bit out of the hustle and bustle of central Ubud, yet still being within easy walking distance. We all intend to stay here again next time we visit Ubud.
