We had a short stay in this lovely guesthouse, the breakfast was amazing and fresh, the pools was fantastic surrounded by beautiful nature. The staff who work there are exceptional specially Mbak Kadek Han, mbak Dian and Mas Herman, they all were very accommodating, super nice, friendly, and helpful. We hope someday we will stay there again. Thank you so much.
I stayed for 3 nights at the guesthouse at the end of May, and was staying at the Indra suite AC at Honeymoon 2 (there are 2 clusters of rooms). It was on the ground floor and very close to the pool. For the price it was a very worthwhile stay. The room is big and clean. The double bed is comfortable and cosy. Unfortunately there isn’t a window on the ground floor, so I have to keep my door open in the day for better light. If possible, request or book a second floor room if you don’t mind the stairs. The hotel grounds is spacious, quiet and lovely. It’s a nice oasis from the Ubud street. There is a yoga hall and also a small lawn if you’d like some outdoor yoga. The morning breakfast is really good and sumptuous. The location is quite convenient, just a ten walk to Campuhan Ridge Walk in the early morning. There are 2 minimarts nearby for you to pick up your essentials and some cafes, and massage parlours. Getting to other areas of Ubud is convenient via grab rides (motorcycles)… or just a short walk away. The staff is amazing, so attentive and always making sure that I had everything I need. I always think it’s good to try other places to stay but I will seriously consider returning here again!…
Just to repeat --- the staff were fabulous, a treat to deal with, eg. provided us information on public ferry schedule to Lombok (it is not online, they had to call ferry terminal), the nearest antigen testing location with hours open, and more. Our bungalow was spacious, well appointed with the usual amenities. A spacious patio where we ate breakfast, with a lovely wooden chaise for afternoon reading or rests. The pool was immaculate, perfect for swimming lengths or lovely to just be refreshed. And, the co-ooing birds in the morning were a wonderful bonus. NB: The price was 25-30% of what it would have been pre-COVID, go now!!
It’s not easy to find places at the moment but good healthy food and charming service to be found in this plantation style restaurant with its marble floors, verandah and carved wooden furniture. Find it in trendy Bisma. Plenty of space between tables for social distancing.
This was my first trip to Bali, travelling with family & friends who had been there many times, & it was fantastic to have their personal recommendation. I adored Honeymoon Guesthouse! You are greeted with a cup of warm Hibiscus tea. It is a traditional Balinese style accommodation with mostly 2-story huts, set among gorgeous gardens scattered everywhere with statues, waterways & chilled out cats, not a huge modern tourist trap. It gives you a more authentic experience of Bali. HG’s airport transportation was friendly and reliable (very scary if you arrive & are stranded!). The rooms don’t have phones or TV’s, but you can manage fine; it’s clean and luxurious. The bed is a very comfortable 4-poster & the bathroom wonderful. My a/c could have been stronger, but as you’re mostly outdoors in the oppressive humidity, you need to try and adjust to the equatorial climate. They are aware of Bali Belly, & provide safe drinking water in the rooms and use safe ice in their restaurant cocktails. HG’s staff couldn’t be more lovely and accommodating. They are a very friendly and gentle people. The food at their 3 restaurants is great, and they can arrange massages, drivers and tours, whatever you need. They also have several secluded pools to choose from, which are wonderfully refreshing. And there is a chemist located conveniently right across the street. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Ubud.…
Lovely spot, loved our own cottage and the vibe. Nice breakfast. Very nice pool and calm away from the Ubud busyness! We also did the cooking workshop which they usually do at the cooking school but did at the hotel on our occasion which was lovely. Recommend!
The accommodation at this location is fantastic. Staff are excellent and there is such a great selection for breakfast if you have included it in your package. Try the sourdough toast with avocado and tomato the flavours are sensational.
Have just returned from a reliably lovely stay at this hidden gem in the heart of Ubud after a gap of 10 years. Still an oasis of tranquility in what is now a very busy street. Food and refreshments utterly exceptional as ever (am already missing the breakfast pancakes) with large, clean rooms and beautifully appointed grounds. Staff were all lovely and Kadek Han in particular couldn’t be more helpful. Yude still runs the cooking school classes with her inimitable aplomb and verve and my shuttle driver was also great. A few things felt a little frayed around the edges and in need of refreshment (towels, the massage room, a couple of travelling companions didn’t have the best air conditioner - although it was manageable), but nothing that couldn’t be easily fixed and the fundamentals are all still solid. Found myself much more susceptible to the heat this trip and simply would not have survived without the pools and (my) well air conditioned room and was PARTICULARLY grateful for the water cooler in my room. (A new addition since last time). A place that simply can’t be beaten in terms of quality and comfort for the price. And somewhere, no matter what your budget, that you can come back to and feel comfortably and peacefully at home. A very special place. (PS - the cats on the property are gorgeous, but do their own thing and are very self-possessed so don’t pose a problem for anyone with allergies or concerns. They are just fellow travellers)…
First stayed here in 1996,then in 2013.Great rooms, location and pool in an interesting area just a 5 minute walk from the main Street in Ubud.As good as ever we shall return,be sure to eat at Casa Luna and Indus restaurants affiliated with the guesthouse.Great value for the price and a lovely Balinese experience.Sheila Adelaide.
Our group of three shared an upstairs family room (two double beds) for a few nights when we first arrived in Bali this trip. We enjoy the area on Jalan Bisma with warungs, spas, minimart, pharmacy etc on the doorstep and this was our first stay at Honeymoon. The guesthouse has a calm and peaceful ambience, with traditionally styled rooms set in beautiful gardens. Our bathroom was large and felt luxurious. Although the street can be fairly busy, there was no noise once inside the guesthouse. We had amazing massages at the in-house spa and spent a few afternoons with a cold drink and snacks in the Honeymoon Kitchen at the front of the property, just watching the world pass by. The pool was in a beautiful setting and the staff were always helpful. The wifi was generally good, although we sometimes had to keep signing in. For us, that is just part of slowing our lives down and getting into the swing of being on Bali time - one of the reasons we keep coming. We felt that we got great value for money at Honeymoon and enjoyed all aspects of our stay. We would very happily return.…
