Very kind staff, beautiful view on a rice field even though located in the center of Ubud. We loved the sunrise while having breakfast on the terrasse. Easy to walk to the monkey forest. Great stay 👍
I love this homestay. For the past 15 years I have been staying here on my visits to Ubud, by myself, with friends, and with my family. Every time I walk off off the street to the little lane that takes you to Danasari, I am immediately transported back in time to an old Bali, with the rice fields, the birds and ducks, and the bright smiles of the local families who own the neighboring guesthouses. The family who owns and operate Danasari always make me feel so welcome, like family. The rooms are on the simple side yet nice, clean and spacious, there is hot water in the bathrooms, the breakfast filling and fresh fruit ample, and the availability to make hot coffee and tea all day is a treat. But the view is like none other. Sitting on the porch and watching the rice grow is my favorite thing. It is in the heart of the town of Ubud, easy walk to everything, yet you feel like you are out in the countryside far away.…

I was actually supposed to stay at the Ganesha Inn down the block but they had some glitch so they sent me over to Danasari. The room was large, comfortable, clean and quiet. I loved the balcony over the rice paddies. The staff was really really nice and helpful. I had both a fan and AC and they both worked well. AWESOME location on Hanuman street near the best shops but away from the worst traffic. The only negative was the bath/shower. It were old and cold! Not a really big deal since Ubud is warm, but don't expect anything fancy.
Budget room with great location in a middle of everything! restaurants, cafe, minimart and only few minutes walk to the Ubud Market. Room a bit tired, need some refurbishment. Daily cleaning available from the reception. Good breakfast ready to serve in front of your room at the balcony (good) View from balcony is a plus-a rice fields in front of your room! Staff were friendly and ready to help! we arrived late at night and they were ready to check us in the room at the time.
There are lots of hotels of this price and standard in Ubud but the Danasari's location in the centre of Ubud, overlooking the rice terraces make it better value than most. The hotel is quite picturesque in its tropical garden setting. South facing rooms (my preference) look out over gardens and the rice terraces while north facing rooms have just a garden setting. Rooms are fairly stylish and reasonably spacious. Bathrooms are, however, tired and dated and would benefit from renovation. There is a new north facing wing with new bathrooms. First floor rooms (stair access only) usually catch a nice breeze, have the best views and are the coolest. A/C is available in some rooms and free wifi is available in the room.
My boyfriend and I stayed in Danasari during our time in Ubud. It was a very basic but comfortable room , overlooking a paddy field. We had a lounging area outside our room which we found very relaxing and enjoyed looking into the field that the hotel backed onto where we would see locals at work and the occasional person flying a kite. In the mornings the staff would deliver breakfast to you in your lounge area, which was included in the price paid for the room. One thing that I would say is that the wifi was very weak in our room and lounge area . The staff were very nice and helpful here and we really enjoyed our stay.
This is a no frills budget accommodation; it is however, very clean and very quiet. The bathroom is basic but clean, the room is large and the bed is comfortable. The best part about staying at Danasari is the veranda. It faces on to the family shrine and is a great spot to sit and drink the free cups of tea. There is no aircon, patchy wifi and no hot water, but plenty of tea and very friendly and helpful staff.
This is an excellent choice for the budget conscious. It's the fourth time I have stayed here and though it's not perfect, it gets the important things right. It's location is perfect, right in the centre of Ubud, close to the restaurants and shops, but overlooking the rice terraces, so it is also quiet. The rooms all have ensuite bathrooms with hot and cold running water. They are clean with comfortable furnishings. All rooms have a private balcony or verandah and many have a lovely view over the rice terraces. Air conditioning is available in most rooms. Breakfast is included along with complementary tea and coffee. On the negative side, the stairs tithe first floor are steep, the water pressure in my room was weak, the towels are old and the coffee is poor. Having said that, I stil choose to stay here each time I return. The management offer good discounts if you deal with them directly when booking.…
Nice hotel, very simple with a vue on the rice fields. Very good location in Hanoman street, 10 min walks to Ubud palace in a small alley so very quiet and convenient. With a lot of restaurants and shops nearby. Staff very helpful. We had a nice night in this hotel !
