It isn't often that tourists can actually stay in the home of a King, but here is a palace which is used partly as a hotel. The King of this area stills lives here and tho simple inside, it is very beautiful and historic. Tourists gather outside the area where guests stay to see the adjacent temple. It is a...

We like a lot of other travellers though we were going to see a palace not a hotel. There was only a small courtyard we could go into so we did not see much. The other parts must have been closed to tourists when we went . They was some nice carvings over a gateway but we could not see...

We stayed here as a birthday present and the end of a month travelling in Indonesia. Although the bathroom was a little antiquated it was perfectly clean and fitting with the palace, I thought it more authentic than many other places in Ubud therefore very fitting for our final stop. We stayed next door to the royal family as there...

The accommodation is in individual small pavilions located in the grounds of the Ubud Palace, in the centre of Ubud. They are surrounded by beautiful gardens, sculptures, fountains and several gorgeous buildings (that compose the part of the Palace that is not inhabited by the King of Ubud and his servants). Therefore, the surroundings are amazing! Outside, the pavilions are...

What more can you do than stay in the palace of the King of Ubud on Bali! Never mind cleanliness, malfunctioning bathroom fittings. Make concessions, because the place is sheer magic. The staff is courteous and friendly. The surroundings are extraordinary and wondrous.

Unlike the other reviews here, my visit was purely for sightseeing. There's not much of an area to explore, as most seem to be closed off to tourists at the time of my visit. You are always guaranteed of course to see intricate carvings, but that's really the case for a lot of places in Bali. Probably best to come...

Not a hotel for those looking for a sterile experience, though the room was clean enough, the bathroom appeared to be missing a wall at one end and opened onto the open air. However, what an experience to wake up in a balineese royal palace surrounded by sculptures, fountains and thrones, by a decent simple breakfast in your own royal...

We stayed in one of the bungalows during our honeymoon for 4 nights. The bungalows are definitely old, outdated and in need of cleaning and renovations, but the experience you get staying here is completely worth it! If you want modern conveniences and luxury, look elsewhere. If you want a unique experience in a peaceful haven in the center of...
