We came across this homestay by sheer luck! After leaving our other accommodation due to a fellow guest intimidating us (terrible experience!) we were approached by the owner of Brata as we walked down Hanoman.. He was lovely and seemed genuinely worried about us walking around late at night and asked if we needed somewhere to stay. He said he...

I stayed at Brata 1 when I was last in Ubud. It's very well located and the family working there is very nice. The facilities and room were also very satisfactory. Now the downside. I read in a review from a different site that described the family as a bit "too present" or thereabouts. That sums it up nicely. Kids...

The guys that run this place are super friendly and welcoming, but not intrusive. We stayed in a ground floor room for one night: it was ideal for our purposes. Right in the middle of ubud for exploration on foot of all it has to offer. Our room and the Inn generally were impeccably clean and we were very comfortable....

Brilliant small and family owned homestay. Staff can't do enough for you. Rooms are spare with basic furnishings. Comfy bed, ceiling fan, hot shower. Nothing else needed for a few days in ubud. Breakfast included but I usually grab mine in other places around town. Staff are very helpful.

I discovered Brata homestay late in the evening and the family gladly took me in & the owner even sat up to talk to me to answer any questions & to make me feel comfortable. The family made a great breakfast for me every morning (included in price). I had the choice of toast, fruit, pancakes, eggs, tea and coffee....

I stayed at Brata 1 homestay for a month in August 2013 as I was attending a course at the Yoga Barn. Great central location – 15 minutes walk to the Yoga Barn, 5 minutes walk to Kafe, 2 minutes walk to excellent Warung Laba Laba, 1 minute walk to as mini-mart (which closes at 10pm) and many more. Room...

Thanks Yande and co for yet another great stay at Brata 1. As usual you were most helpful in making my stay enjoyable and memorable. The beds were super comfortable and the shower just hot enough after a long day of eating and shopping my way around Ubud. I can't wait to be back there again.

Traveling with a friend who stayed here 3 years ago and wanted to return to Brata Guesthouse. It was dark when we arrived and when I awoke and stepped on to our porch I found I was in a Balinese garden compound. Beautiful old stone deities, colorful carvings of the Ramayana, and the smell of incense from the morning offerings....

Stayed here for 4 nights, and was quite satisfied. The family is very nice and speak good English. The property is large with a nice garden. We stayed in an upstairs room, with a little private balcony, the room was basic, solid and decent size, the hot water bathroom worked very well. The free wifi was fast, and the breakfast...

“There are only 5 rooms in Brata 1 Homestay, so reserve as early as possible to avoid disappointment. 3 out of the 5 rooms are on upstairs (1st floor) with nice view balcony to see over some paddy / rice fields and also the rooftop of the other buildings in Hanoman street. *Roofs of Ubud villages that consists of only short houses and temples make a beautiful scenery too. 2 other rooms are on the ground floor which you will have a open are in front of your room for catching up with the owner's family, dogs and also other tourist that by pass your room. The open area is more than sufficient for you to practise yoga, meditation and do nothing there.”
