Great place to stay and centrally located. The staff are wonderful and always helpful. Good breakfast choices. Refreshing pool in a beautiful setting. Everything exceptionally clean. Rooms are spacious with comfortable antique Balinese beds. Nice art everywhere. Just down a short, quiet alley and you are in the middle of Ubud. Everything is walkable from there.

We loved the spa treatments here. We came for one treatment and ended up returning every day we could get in. The space is so beautiful and relaxed, it felt very indulgent. I had the Balinese, combo and deep tissue massage, as well as a facial and scrub. All were incredibly relaxing but I enjoyed the massages most. Highly recommended. Wish I could have fit more visits in!

Can’t get more centrally located than this. We took the ‘suite’ located near the entrance. Beautiful Balinese style room. It was large with a lot of excellent wood carving, and extensive marble deck. Beautiful pool and great breakfast. Always judge a place by how they deal with a problem. Booking.Com created a muck up with the payment which was quickly and graciously corrected by the host. Highly recommended

Response from Nyoman Suwitera, Owner at Narasoma Homestay & Retreat
Responded 17 Sep 2022
Thank You Debbie for taking the time to provide the lovely review. We are pleased you enjoyed the Balinese Suite. Its wood and stone carved features are very special. The stone was carved onsite but the wood was carved by a local wood artist in his village. The building was created by local trades men who specialise on this type of Balinese architecture. We appreciate your response and from all our team again Thank you very much.

Narasoma Spa would have to be the best massage place in Ubud centre. We had roughly 10 massages at different places throughout Ubud centre on this holiday & Narasoma was by far the best. Best location by the river. Best value for money 250K for 90 minutes. Very clean & relaxing ambiance. Great showers for afterwards before heading out to dinner or the airport. Narasoma… we’ll see you next time we’re in Ubud for sure!

We’ve stayed at Narasoma a few times now & this time we brought a group of 15 for a yoga retreat. Firstly, the clear consensus from all the guests was..... it’s just magnificent! It was made magnificent by all the wonderful & helpful staff from Narasoma & Narasoma itself. It’s a beautiful peaceful setting right in the centre of Ubud, which gives everyone the option to do whatever they want. The two pools are so relaxing & refreshing, the two yoga shalas are open & air conditioned, the indoor gompa space also air conditioned & a cool meditation cave certainly add another dimension to this homestay & retreat centre. All the homestay rooms are traditionally appointed along with the two large villas. The riverside rooms are top notch, however, the retreat centre rooms are quite basic but still nice & peaceful. All accommodation is priced very competitive for central Ubud. Breakfasts are simple but very good & the fresh juice smoothies delicious. This place is a hidden gem in central Ubud & if you stay here once or just visit for a massage, you’ll be back for sure.

Narasoma is a beautiful, serene escape from the busy-ness that is the main streets of Ubud. It is a place built on love & serenity - the staff are lovely and efficient, the grounds stunning & the massage divine - you will not want to leave. The paths are naturally uneven, with a slope/steps to/from the accommodation/pool, so for those who have difficulty with mobility or balance, this accommodation may be challenging/not appropriate. On a practical note : you can fill up your water bottle at reception (no charge) - great! & free wifi is reasonable around the pool. Laundry can be done at the retreat across the lane.

We stayed for 3 nights in a twin room on the other side of the river. Yes lots of steps but was well worth the small hike to our room. The room was huge and very clean. Everything was supplied for us from tea and coffee to bathroom supplies. Breakfast was lovely. The staff could not do enough for us. Great central location in Ubud. Great laundry and massage place next door. Beautiful eating options everywhere. Take a torch at night. Highly recommended. 5 nights would have been lovely. 3 just was not enough.

My wife and I checked in for 3 nights and stayed for 12. Stayed in BSuite, a traditional Balinese chalet not far from the reception area. We loved It. Huge verandah where we spent a lot of time and magnificent carvings everywhere. Owners and all staff are so nice and helpful. Much of the retreat is dedicated to Yoga lovers and groups travel from around the world to visit. The villas on one side of the stream are amazing and the tropical gardens are immaculate. Great pool area and underneath by the stream, are massage rooms which we can thoroughly recommend although I personally suggest you don't have a 1 hour massage by a running river after a dozen Bintangs!. It's hard to imagine you are in the heart of Ubud but rarely hear a sound from the nearby traffic. All the restaurants and many attractions are easy walking distance. We inspected several places but found nothing compared to Narasoma within our price range and needs. Location, cleanliness, friendliness, comfort, amenities and beautiful, large grounds to enjoy. There are different accommodation choices from single rooms to luxurious villa's so will suit most budgets. We will be back.
