My wife and I were in Ubud for 3 nights on our Honeymoon and we stayed at Gayatri Villas. For the price, there is nothing better. They have one of the best views in Ubud, along with great customer service, quality rooms, and they serve you breakfast on your own balcony! For such a small property, they have 3 pools, including an infinite pool that looks over the forest. We will definitely be back!
It is just out of some travel magazine I would say. Very peaceful, amidst nature and all green and quiet, except chirping of birds. Well saying that doesn't mean it it lacks comfort and luxury. The rooms are big, very spacious and trust me when I say the bathrooms are huge! Food is basic (we mostly had breakfasts only), but it was OK. The hosts were too helpful and with all smiles. They go an extra mile to help you. We arranged for our vehicle from the villa, and it was very good. If in Ubud, please check this place. Highly recommended. It is slightly away from the city center but that shouldnt be a hurdle, with a taxi its hardly 20-25 minutes.
Excellent experience when we stayed there for two nights, the location, hospitality and surroundings exceeded our expectations. View of the countryside from our room at first floor was awesome but poolside rooms are also preferred for the same.
Very clean rooms with friendly staff. There were a few issues, but the new owner was very helpful and saw that the issues were addressed personally. The owner made sure that we had everything we needed during our stay. It is a beautiful & peaceful location with magnificent views, only minutes away from Ubud.
The view is fantastic. It's great to relax in the pool, or view from the bathroom. It feels like someones guest house that you're using, in a good way. However, it's also someones guest house with some annoying flaws. The peeling paint and other things feel okay. The air condition that can't keep up and leaves you hot the entire night is not. The many small ants are acceptable - the fewer but huge ants are not as nice. Yes, it's close to nature, so not sure if it's possible to keep them out, but they were a bit too big and present. The breakfast is okay, but not more than that. We had trouble locking our hut and asked for help. Helpfully the staff had it locked after some attempts - but did nothing to repair it. Luckily there seems to be no real risk of theft so we left it unlocked. Overall staff was very friendly. Pool seems a bit on the murky side, the view from it is great, but we felt slightly dirty coming out of it. Considering the price it was definitely worth the visit, but the place and huts needs to be freshened up.…
We booked this place without much information and it turned out to be the best experiences we could ever have in the art village Ubud. The place is in the hysterical part of the town, 15min by bicycle to the center. If you are looking for an authentic and also a luxury private resort experience with spiritual Balinese charm, this is the place for you. The beautiful pool is shared only by two groups of people so you have a very private feeling. The view from pool and balcony was just breath taking. Rice field and rich forest right underneath you. We liked to stay in the pool for sunset and self made drinks. Balinese music playing somewhere in the near by temple and forest gets foggy by that time, which made the amazing atmosphere. We saw the villa hotels in centre too but we were finally really happy to stay in our area. The location was just perfect. I wouldn't chose to stay in centre in order to enjoy charm of Ubud fully. Our Room was huge, clean and luxurious! Big bathroom with bathtub with the view on the forest. We could also use Kitchen, which allowed us to cook dinner sometimes ourselves. Breakfast will be carried to your own balcony at the time you want. It was such pleasure to wake up with the view and good warm breakfast. Stuffs were very friendly and helpful, communicative. I would like to send a special thanks to a manager lady Agung who spoke very good English and always made sure that we are provided everything we needed. She was also honestly friendly person and that made our stay even better. We already wrote down the name of the room we were staying, because we will definitely come back! …
Really beautiful little villa by the infinity-pool next to a green forest. Awesum view! Really private feeling and good service. The breakfast was made to our terrace by the time we asked (if you have some schedule book a bit earlier time then you should, ours was always 15-30 mins late). A bit outside of the center, which was nice for us- wanted some peace. All kinds of small animals were in the room, like lizards and ants. For us, again no problem! Really helpful staff! They did everything possible to make us feel like home. If you go to ubud and want a little bit of private luxury- go here!!!
It is so calm here as it is pretty far from the Ubud main road. It has beautiful view as it is just before rice field. Friendly staffs and good food. Hey take your swimsuit as it is a perfect place to swim while you consume the beauty of the sun set. Enjoy your life!
We stayed 5 nights in Pratiwi villa/s with our two children. Although the smallest of the three Gayatri villas, Pratiwi can easily accommodate 6 people, with three bedrooms and bathrooms, a living area, kitchen and a private pool. Around the villas and pool was a lush tropical garden. The rooms and pool were decorated with frangipani flowers every day. There was a beautiful view of rice paddies, a small temple and mountains from the upstairs balcony. The Balinese style pitched roof lets some noise in, so you are immersed in the Balinese experience of croaking frogs around the pool at night, and the dawn rooster alarm. A couple of nights we heard an atmospheric gamelan orchestra from a nearby temple. An a la carte breakfast was prepared and served daily at our requested time. There was a choice of toast, pancakes, fresh fruit juice or fruit platter, eggs and coffee. We did not receive the afternoon tea mentioned on the website, although we were out most days. The kitchen was well-equipped if you wish to cook, and there were also menus from a few local restaurants to order in. The villa can provide dinner with advance notice. There is a water cooler to refill water bottles, which was a nice touch. The villas were clean, and serviced and turned down daily. Although there were full mosquito nets around the beds and coils lit nightly, we didn’t have any problems with mosquitos. There was cable TV in the living area and free wifi. Sayan is an outlying village of Ubud, about 5km or 15 minutes drive from central Ubud. The villa provides a 2-hourly shuttle service on request, from 9am -5pm. A “taxi” costs about 50,0000 rp ($6); you need to negotiate a price. The villa is hard to find if arriving from outside Ubud, so it would be best for you or your driver to ring for directions first. Overall, our stay was very relaxing and a true Balinese experience. The villas were not perfect, but close to it; the water went off for an hour one night, and the upstairs bath was showing signs of age. Pros: - Private tropical oasis, with Balinese charm - Plenty of space - Friendly smiling and helpful staff, and local people Cons: - The 5.30am rooster alarm - Distance from Ubud, although this is also a pro, as you are away from the bustle.…
Our family of 4 stayed in Paratiwi in August 2011. Overall we had a fantastic stay here and would recommend to any family. Gayatri is quiet, peaceful and well located. We got a good price of $300 per night and felt this was fair, I feel the list price of $450 would be a little high unless a little more luxury could be injected such as newer towels, free sundowners in the evening etc The Villa is very well appointed and the large, spacious bedrooms with super king canopy beds take your breath away. There are fantastic double baths for lazy evenings and there is more than enough space for a family of 4-6 to relax comfortably. Some fittings are dating a little and we felt there was a wiring issue in the main house. Both myself and my father in law received quite bad electric shocks from a bedside lamp which was not replaced as requested, but returned with a new fuse. There was also a condiderable leak from the AC in the upper bedroom ceiling during our stay - the place could do with a quick R&M once over. The staff were fantastic and extremely helpful. Gigih the Ops Manager is knowledgable about the area and speaks very good English. other staff are less confident but will always get you in front of someone who can help. The breakfasts were a little disappointing with a choice of fruit, a pancake, toast or a cooked breakfast. We would have preferred a more continental style of cereals, yoghurts and breads but what was served was tasty and filling, if not a little samey. The pool area is small but very pleasant, if not a little chilly in the mornings! The villa is well located off the main road in Sayan and although difficult to find the first few times, most taxi drivers will know the area and it is safe to wander around the village. The position above the Ayung gorge affords fantastic views of the fields on the opposite banks if you have the top bedroom. Unfortunately, this is the onlt room with a view and the pool feels a little hemmed in, behind trhe back wall of another villa.…
