#131 of 400 in Ubud
This is the original guesthouse of Ibu Wayan and Pak Ketut. Since 1988, the Pengosekan Road has developed quite a bit, but Kebun Indah set back off the road still feels like the oasis it has been for over 30 years. The home-like atmosphere and welcoming staff attracts many return and long-time visitors to Bali.

Really loved staying here for four days. It is just off the main street, but is nestled well away from the traffic and noise. The rooms are lovely, big and tropical. Perfect if you love nature. Great staff and the local breakfast offerings are perfect.

We love this small hotel only a few rooms in wonderful gardens down a lane at the bottom of Jalan Hanoman. So tranquil yet close to many cafes and shops a few minutes walk to the monkey Forest. Great breakfast and wonderful staff and service. We have stayed here many times and love all the Balinese style hotels run by the Alam Indah group.Always a pleasure to stay here.Sheila Adelaide

Beautiful large room with view of gorgeous gardens. Loved the large open air bathroom. Excellent breakfast and perfect timing (breakfast and transport arrived exactly when promised). Property is set back from the busy streets of Ubud but still walkable to Monkey Park and other downtown sights. Loved it - very highly recommended.

We have just arrived back from Bali where we had the pleasure of staying in Padi room for 5 days... Wow simply amazing! Staying at Alam Shanti on my first trip to Bali, I was concerned it may not be as good, but I think I preferred it here. It's a flat walk off the main road past some rice paddies, the rooms are on a slight hill with some steps. The pool setting at the end is so calm with the sound of the river going by and yet right in the centre of busy Ubud. Great position for Yoga Barn, Kafe and our favourite restaurant Cafe Wayan, part of the Alam Asia group. This is Balinese hospitality at its finest, the people are very genuine and very kind, if you want Bali traditional style this is the place! The rooms are spotlessly clean, the beds and pillows are really comfortable, the rooms were huge and open air bathroom was lovely. One of the highlights of staying with Alam Asia group is the serving of breakfast on the terrace, what a luxury! They also serve complimentary tea/coffee and cake at 3.30, yum.! Our terrace where we spent a lot of our time was huge with a large day bed as well as low table with meditation cushions for eating and high dining table. There was plenty of room for my daily yoga practise at sunrise, so lovely. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so amazing, we didn't want to leave. We had a very nice hotel afterwards in Sanur, some days we wished we were back at Kebun Indah. Bali has such a big heart, miss you. Heart felt thanks from us both x

Brought my niece to one of my favourite little places so she could walk around on her own and discover Ubud. Great eats nearby at affordable costs and so quiet once you walk down the path to the accommodation. We stayed at Padma, which has a huge balcony and huge bathroom. We stayed 8 days and it was just peaceful, relaxing and conveniently located. We both had to work, and it was easy setting up on the balcony and work in a relaxing setting so it didn't feel like work. On the last day we had to move to Padi in the Big House, which was very spacious, but we didn't enjoy the bathroom as much. Also, the neighbours partied a little late and you could hear that. Not that it was a problem. The other rooms are quieter. Breakfast always nice here, with a wonderful outlook and lots of birdsongs in the morning. I love the bubur kuning, which is a local rice porridge breakfast with spinach. But the pancakes are so good too. My niece just loved it, and now a next generation will enjoy a place I have enjoyed for 18 years and keep coming back. The staff have grown up and we are like friends.
