I'd checked out Swastika on our last trip to Sanur and happily booked it for this trip for our last few days before flying home. Our group of three (1x 50s, 2x 20yo) had a Deluxe room, with three single beds (two generously sized). These rooms are deep in the property by the largest pool and we found a ground floor room very convenient. There was a dressing room to store our cases as well as a bathroom in good clean condition. For the price, we felt that it was great value. The location of Swastika is very convenient, with a street to the beach across the road, and plenty of shops, warungs, restaurants, spas etc just out the front. We used a laundry across the road and could walk to the beach markets and the night market, although tbh we usually caught a taxi from out the front. The staff were really helpful and friendly and we arranged our airport transfer with the hotel driver - the same price as looking for a driver out on the street. At the time we stayed a lot of the other guests were older Europeans and many seemed to be return guests. We didn't notice guests with children, although it would be very suitable to stay with kids. There was a TV, but reception was a bit fuzzy. Wifi was generally okay, although it could drop in and out a bit depending on where we were in the hotel. We kept our passport and valuables in the boxes at the front desk and felt very comfortable doing so. Overall we thought we had good value for money in a clean and comfortable hotel.

If you are not into the fancy pancy resorts and want large, clean, comfortable rooms with balconies to sit out and read your book on, then this is it. Stunning gardens and peacefull.

Very affordable, privacy if you want it, amazing pools, one with a swim up bar that also serves food.

We only stayed one night, as a last minute booking (we couldnt be bothered going back to our hotel in Seminyak), but we will book in for a week this year 2020 can't wait.

Stayed four nights. Excellent location within walking distance of tens of restaurants and shops, but off the main road and fairly quiet.
The room was spacious with basic decor. No luggage rack, you have to leave your suitcase on the floor. Amenities included mini-fridge and electric kettle. No safe. Inconveniently located power sockets: there are none near the desk area; one is located up the wall at a height of about 2.5 meters.
Comfortable bed and pillows.
Bathroom with lowish water pressure. Only a bath towel and a pool towel are provided - no hand towel. Upon arrival I thought they had forgotten the hand towel and called the front desk, but was told that hand towels are provided only in deluxe rooms. Really? How expensive can a hand towel be?
Average wifi.
Decent breakfast buffet with freshly made omelets and pancakes.
Overall, it is a good value, but the lack of simple things such as a hand towel and luggage rack make the management look cheap.

This traditional Bali hotel is not without its charm, the rooms are large but sparsely furnished, clean but dated. The bed was large and hard with some flat hard pillows. The bathroom was very basic with a shower in the bath - but no shower screen or curtain. Storage in our room was limited. There is no in room safe but a safety deposit box at the office. The grounds and 3 pools are are well maintained and it was always possible to find a sunbed whilst we were there. The breakfast buffet was very disappointing with the egg station the highlight. Food in the bain marie was often an unnamed mess with several dishes I could not try, watery 'juice' cordial but some fresh fruit, tea and Bali coffee. The location of the hotel is excellent being close to all Sanur has to offer.

This was our first stay here. Rooms was spacious, clean, but a bit tired. The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable and linen needs updating. The sheets had torn edges and the towels were threadbare. My son put his hand through one. The 3 pools are lovely and we had interconnecting rooms close to one of them. I think with 3 pools most rooms would be near to one. The gardens are beautiful and I love that tropical Balinese feel this hotel offers. The staff were all friendly. The spa on site was lovely and clean and we had all our treatments here. Much better then walking the streets looking for somewhere, and the pricing was good and staff professional. Breakfast was included, it was buffet style, basic but ample. I think it would be nicer to head out to the many restaurants at your door step, or walk along the beach path, which is only a 5-7minute walk away. The location is excellent.

Stayed at Swastika Bungalows from 23-30 June.
A small family run hotel, staff great, only 3 complaints.
Breakfast was very basic, not much in the way of western breakfast choices. ( most days chicken & vegies) & rice.
only sausages 1 day while there so a little disappointed. Pool bar not much variety in drinks, I prefer Smirnoff lemon, but not available, however staff didn’t mind if you purchased drinks from outside & consume them there.
Lastly, the onsite massage place, woeful….
Went & booked in for traditional massage, we hubby & I, went in for our massage, school room lighting, not relaxing at all, and each time a person came in to enquire about massage one of the girls left our massage to attend to them, at one point a woman could be heard at the front talking to my masseuse for more than 5 mins, the actual massage was terrible, very disappointed, never went back again….
Hotel is predominantly for older people, not many young families. Would not stay again.

Nice breakfast with an omelette station, they pipe your name in sauce on the plate it's very cute. Room fine, air con very strong, could have done with a thicker/second pillow. Staff very pleasant. Lots of restaurants around hotel.

This resort is on Jalan Tamblingan , Sanur. It is set in off the road so it is very quiet. It is centrally located for shopping, restaurants, bars & massage. The staff here are very curtious & friendly. We stayed here pre- Covid & now we are back. After many holidays throughout Asia I would class this as a three and a half star rating. Breakfast is basic with eggs, toast, fresh fruits, tea, coffee & one or two hot foods additions. Whilst these are older buildings, the gardens are average but leafy. There are three pools without any shade but deck chairs can be shaded at times. The bathroom is outdated but good enough. The cleaner does a very good job & tries to please guests. Theres a mini fridge, TV and king size bed which is extremely hard. The pillows have seen better days. Theres an electric kettle, tea & coffee making. The air conditioner is very cold and quiet. There was no welcome drink upon arrival. There are secure lock boxes atvreception for your valuables. At the back there are a few billiard tables hidden away. The beauty spa room is airconditioned & well priced. There is no swim up bar or swimming pool drinks service. Breakfast is the only meal served during the day although their compendiom shows a menu. Perhaps in high season that may change. We like it here because there are no frills but it is clean, friendly and basic.

We had three nights here either end of our bali trip. It is centrally located surrounded by plenty of shops and cafes. It is an easy walk to the beach and nightmarkets. Our room was overlooking one of the three pools and was huge with a good sized bathroom. The room was cleaned daily and was immaculate. The breakfast was good with a egg station, rice or noodles, bacon, fresh fruit, pastries and self serve tea and coffee. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Great Balinese owned and run faculty. Clean rooms, 3 pools, rest staff and centrally located off the central shopping area.
Only a 100m walk down the drive but so quiet and only a 300 or so meter walk to the main beach and great restaurants.
The Otel has many rooms and 3 pools to choose from.
Worth considering if you are looking for cheap option

What is the difference between Standard, Superior and Delux rooms?
Answer from Laurence_Brussels
Montreal, Canada453 contributions111 helpful votes
Description is quite accurate on their website, which I advise you to visit. We had a standard room that was also on the ground floor and quite dark. From what I can see on their site, superior and Deluxe are on the 1st floor and have a terrace, the furniture is a bit nicer but the features (A/C, fridge, kettle) are the same.

Lots of rooms but separate bungalows giving illusions of privacy. Didn't notice lots of kids but it is a family hotel. It has three pools so lots of choice to spread out.
