We were upgraded to a Super Deluxe room (i think that's what they called it) The room furniture was a little dated but was nice and clean The air conditioner did a fantastic job of keeping the room just haw you like it. The fridge was really cold (sometimes in Bali we have fridges that take overnight to cool a small bottle of water) No such problem here
There is no safe in the room and you can have access free of charge to the safety deposit boxes at reception.Just beware. Do not lose the safety deposit key as this will cost you $150!! The room has a wardrobe that can be locked with a drawer inside that is also lockable
The pool is so clean and unlike many Balinese hotels there was no sign of mould anywhere. Only negative was that it got too hot sometimes but most of the time was perfect. In the afternoon after 3pm they have Happy hour (large Bintang Rph32000 which I though was reasonable.....i never had one so don't know if there was tax on top of that) and provide free coffee/tea and a small fritter like snack (a nice touch)

The breakfast was so/so . Lots of choice but nothing that stands out. We got bored with it so went to Warung Lilla which is very close by for some nice food at breakfast time
The staff in the hotel restaurant are very pleasant at breakfast and try their best to please you. Their English is not so good and they get confused easily. I asked for my Nasi Goreng to be spicy and after checking twice that I wanted it spicy they then served me the "spesial"(sic) nasi goring which was not spicy then added to my bill. Not a huge thing but something they can get better

All in all would I stay there again. Depending on price.....definitely!

We are still currently staying at the Bumi may l start by saying if your looking for a 5 star all singing and all dancing hotel this is probably not for you.
However if your looking for a tranquil quiet spot with stunning gardens and spacious rooms that are spotlessly cleaned, with some of the best hotel staff l have ever met ,then this is for you.
Nothing and l mean nothing is ever to much trouble for these lovely people and they always have a smile at the ready.
The food is excellent value and breakfast is very good with a good choice , everything about this place has a laid back chilled vibe which would suit all kinds of travellers but probably suits more mature people.
There are a limited choice of bar drinks ie no spirits but there’s enough to get by but we have yet to find the elusive Bali cider.
On the whole we have had a great time and l would return in a heartbeat so a warm thank you to all the staff and management at the Bumi Ayu keep up the good work M and M xx

We arrived late in the evening and my first impression of the room was that it was very dark, old and outdated, yet very spacious. The next morning they were more than accommodating and relocated us to a ground level bungalow which was much brighter, newer and beautiful big terrace. The location, grounds, pool and staff are excellent. Well manicured and very clean and a good price point. Just a short walk to the beach, Main Street with many shops/restaurants, etc. Wifi is good at bungalow/property. I would highly recommend you check this one out!
This is our first time in Sanur as well and it is a quaint touristy community with a great sandy beach.
You won’t be disappointed.

I visited Bali for the first time as a seasoned solo traveller and when I stayed at the Bumi Ayu Bungalows, I wept a few tears of joy because I was so happy to be in peace and quiet, and also to be relaxing.

But first, let me explain why I was so happy.
When I first arrived in Bali, I stayed in Legian. I have travelled to countries with lots of chaos and noise like India, and so the streets of Legian did not bother me at all. But I did find the noise around my Legian hotel a big problem because there were constant beer buses driving past (playing loud music); the hotel pool bars also played loud music; and at night the motorbikes would drive fast because there was less traffic and the motorbike exhausts would be really loud and would wake you up when you were sleeping. I found it very hard to relax in the hotel room, and very hard to sleep at night so I left that hotel and Legian earlier than planned.

I went to Sanur and checked into Bumi Ayu instead.

Bumi Ayu is surrounded by lush trees and bushes in an intimate environment.

I booked a deluxe bungalow and found the bungalow clean, spacious and well-appointed with lots of natural light.

The bungalow has lots of furniture for you to place your luggage on personal effects on effects. Power plugs were in the right place, and there was one plug next to the bed so that you can power your phone. The bed came with a mosquito net, and the room also had a lockable wardrobe for additional security. Air con worked really well and filtered water is provided daily.

My bungalow was away from the pool and was incredibly quiet. I was surprised by how little I heard while I was in the bungalow. There was no loud music around the pool area and guests were really quiet around the pool
I found other guests very quiet as they walked around the bungalow area and even when having a beer by the pool e.g. quietly reading a book. I really loved that sense of peace and quiet.

The free breakfast was orderable and I simply ate some bacon and eggs in the morning.

I found all of the staff to be warm, friendly and accommodating.

I went from the hotel to the airport and it only took me about 40 minutes in the early morning. I also went from Sanur to Seminyak during peak hour and it took me about 60 minutes but you sit in an airconditioned car and only costs about $13 AUD.

I would definitely stay here again. As I said earlier, I wept with tears of joy because I was so relaxed.

We have just spent 3 weeks staying here. 3 adults and 3 children.
The rooms and swimming pool are excellent.
All the staff in all areas are friendly and helpful.
They have spent some time lately working on the surrounding gardens, and they look fabulous.
My husband and I have been staying here for the last 17 years and have seen many, many changes to the bungalows, all for the better.
We as a family can not recommend the Bumi Ayu highly enough for a relaxing and value for money holiday.

This is an older style Bali Hotel , well located to the main road with a great selection of cafes and restaurants, the rooms are large and reasonably appointed. My only problem was no safe in the room and no bottle water and a very small TV . Safes are available at reception and a jug of water is in the room , the gardens are well maintained and the pool and pool area are the best features. For the price it is fantastic value .

I booked here for 12 nights based on so many good reviews. I was disappointed that the first room no.50 allocated to me had two lumpy, hard, old beds. I upgraded to room 17 by paying $25 a night extra. And still heard every word my neighbours said. For $59 in total per night there's better value elsewhere. The pool was good and staff seemed professional but noise from adjoining rooms and a minimal, basic breakfast would ensure I stayed elsewhere next visit.

Not much has changed in the six years since I last stayed here. The room I was in (47) was much better than last time. It was upstairs and overlooked the pool. The pool itself was still as warm as I remembered, like stepping into a bath! The service from the staff was as good as always and the restaurant food was still the same excellent standard as before. The breakfast was served quickly and was delicious. The choice on the menu has improved since last time. My room was very clean and the bathroom has obviously had work done. In fact I noticed that a lot of work had been done since last time. The only criticisms I can make is that the tea and coffee offerings were inadequate: too few sachets of tea, coffee and sugar. The cups provided were quite small and there was no milk, but the local minimart was close and milk is cheap. A lack of power points is also noted.
The bed was very comfortable and the air-conditioning worked a treat! The undercover rest area near the pool, complete with library is a welcome retreat.
The Bungalows are situated close to the main street and shops but recent developments have closed off a lot of the paths that lead to the beach so you now have about a 20-minute walk to get to Sanur Beach - which is great for walking off the calories consumed at breakfast!

My husband and I had 7 nights at Bumi Ayu Bungalows and loved every minute. Check in was quick, we were given a free up grade from a Deluxe to a super Deluxe (difference is walk in shower). Our room was a couple of steps from the pool, absolutely amazing. The room was very spacious, bed was very comfortable as well as pillows were soft. Bathroom was huge, lovely big shower and sink area. Verandah was lovely to sit on and read and very private. Pool was warm but I enjoy a warm pool, always plenty of sun lounges morning and afternoon. Breakfast was a set menu of 3 choices, American breakfast, continental and Indonesian. All were great and plenty enough to set you up for the day. The gardens are beautiful as well as ponds all around the resort with fish and turtles. Staff always talk to you and are very friendly and helpful. Location is great, close to everything. We will definitely be back to stay again at Bumi Ayu Bungalows

I find this a delightful place. The staff are friendly and attentive, the grounds are beautiful and quiet, the rooms are large and clean, the supplied breakfast is tasty, the cost is moderate and the pool wonderful!
Did I miss anything?
We liked and trusted Wayan the hotel's driver, we liked being served meals and drinks by the pool, and the resident cat, frogs, tortoises and gecko.
There's an excellent undercover guests' 'lounge' with library and writing tables.
Needless to say, we'll be back.

It is about a 3 to 5 minute walk. There are several area you can cut through to get to the beach. I feel very safe walking back to the hotel. From the main road to the hotel it is only about 1 to 2 mins walk, there are couple of Warguns in the street so always someone around, but I have never seen any trouble
