Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
I stayed at the Andaz Bali with my partner for five nights, and overall would recommend this hotel if visiting Bali - it was a really unique layout / concept, the rooms were brand new, the resort concept felt chic and very modern and unique, and it was in a lovely, quiet area of Bali that was much less crowded than other areas. This hotel has a few unique features, which I wanted to share in this review, since I had a hard time finding some of the info in my research before staying. Overall, I'd highly recommend this resort for design-conscious travelers who want less of a party scene vibe in Bali. Also, having stayed at several other Andaz properties, this definitely captures the Andaz "vibe" and translates it to a relaxed but design-conscious Bali visitor.
First and foremost, I want to give a big shout out to Ayu, the concierge at the front desk who helped us out multiple times throughout our stay, and made sure we felt taken care of! All of the hotel staff we interacted with were exceptional, and Ayu went above and beyond in helping us.
The first thing that I noticed about this resort that felt unique to me, was the "village" layout and low key vibe of the hotel. The buildings are all low-rise 1 - 3 stories, and the layout has the buildings in different little neighborhood areas, with walking paths between, with surprisingly lush and mature landscaping for being such a new hotel - the grounds were pristine!
The room itself - we stayed in a King Deluxe room and it was great - spacious, modern, comfortable bed, large balcony, gorgeous bathroom - and everything was new, new, new! The design was modern with lovely Balinese touches throughout, and we really felt comfortable. The bed and pillows were more than acceptable, a bit firm, but not too hard to sleep on. The layout was super functional for a holiday, with a large walk in closet, separate shower and toilet area, a sitting area in the room, and a large balcony with outdoor lounge seating. The room truly was beautiful. Worth noting, the hotel buildings do not have elevators - so lots of stairs if you're on a second or third floor room, or have mobility issues, note it before arrival. The hotel's staff will help with your luggage in and out of the room, which is great!
The thing that is important and kind of hard to figure out on the hotel website is where your room will be located at the resort, and also the wide variety of room types available, which are all set in different areas of the resort. (I've attached a photo of the resort map to this review, since I had a hard time finding one before my stay online). The resort has a main "town square" where there is a large restaurant area, set in different culinary "themes" - it's very cute and well designed - and in the evenings there is also free music. But - when we arrived, our room was overlooking this village square, and was at times loud, you could hear the evenings' live music inside the room, sitting on the balcony felt loud, and this felt less relaxing. That being said, we spoke to the front desk and they were incredibly accommodating and moved us to a different room of the same room type the following day with no hassle. So, look at the resort map to understand the location of the different room types...
Here's a few tips that I'd share with others who are considering this resort:
- The main pool overlooking the beach can be crowded, and have lots of kids. We much preferred the relaxing Santhi (Shanti?) pool, which was the "quiet" pool - relaxing, very few people, surrounded and shaded by huge mature trees, it felt like a private jungle oasis!
- The food and drink options are great at the whole resort, very reasonably priced, and honestly, I would have felt perfectly content eating and drinking at the hotel for all of our meals. The breakfast was vast! The cocktails in the evening were great! The Fisherman's Club was really great to have a meal and drink with a view of the beach walk and water. The dining options around the town square are themed differently, but its one large, shared menu - so you can sit in any of the concepts and order any of the foods; which is really cool. And lots of cuisine options throughout the resort.
- The resort is right along the beach, and there's a really cool beach walk that runs next to it that lets you walk up and down to different parts of Sanur, with different bars, shops, markets, and pretty ocean scenery. What I didn't realize when booking this is that the beach isn't that swimmable. It's not rough water - its the opposite - really shallow and still, and the tide goes out and its like puddles in the sand. The sand is also not very powdery. Kids might enjoy it, but we didn't swim or lay on the sand. Pretty, though!
- The resort is connected via a walkway to the Hyatt Regency resort
- The resort is on a main road (but feels secluded), but is very easy to venture out on foot to go to a convenience store, do some shopping, or eat on the main road at different restaurants.
- Sanur overall is a lovely, quiet area of Bali, MUCH less crowded than other parts of Bali we visited. Thought, its clear there is more development happening. It's still definitely touristy, but not a party scene or party vibe - very quiet. It felt like an older crowd (40's - 50s and families with kids). Also, traffic is so bad on the island that getting elsewhere was really a pain, easily taking 45 - 60 minutes in a car (if not more) to get to some popular sites like Jimbaran, Uluwatu, etc.
Overall, highly recommended!!!

This is an absolutely stunning hotel! Everything has been beautifully designed inside and outside. The entrance to the hotel is very grand and the pools with carp swimming are so pretty. Our little boy loved getting the chance to feed the fish on a few occasions.
The suite we had was perfect and the hotel had thought of everything including travelling with our little ones as they provided a baby bath and toiletries specifically for them.
All the staff we met were so friendly. On arrival we realised that one of our pram tyres had burst and the reception staff especially Edi were so helpful in helping us trying to track down a replacement.
Whilst there I made use of the spa and had an excellent massage. Our children also loved the kids club area that the hotel provided access to for two hours each day.
We also loved that we could walk from our hotel along the beachfront to the restaurants. However we did eat in the fisherman's restaurant on two occasions which was great and the breakfasts at Wok Wok are fantastic which are both located within the hotel.
This is a beautiful hotel and caters for a range of travellers, families, couples and honeymooners! We will definitely be back!

My wife and I decided to split our time in Bali, spending our first week in Nusa Dua at the Grand Hyatt and our second week in the Andaz in Sanur. The properties are quite different, and each has their own pros and cons. Service in both properties was exceptional as we've come to expect from the Hyatt chain, especially in Bali.
The Andaz is a much newer property, and you can see lots of thought has gone into the design in terms of what modern travelers look for. Our room (Andaz Suite With 1 King Bed) had 2 independent air conditioners (needed for the humidity) and there were powerpoints with USB sockets in abundance for charging your devices. The two daybeds, one inside, one outside, were super comfortable and a great way to while away some time with a good eBook. The restaurants were wonderful with breakfast in the village square a standout as well as the Fisherman's Club in the late afternoon. Happy hour is the best time, otherwise the drinks here are more expensive than most other places we've been in Bali. A special call out to Andira in the Fisherman's Club who was outstanding in making us feel welcome over multiple days. She always remembered our favourite drinks and was happy to help us with any questions we had.
In terms of location, the Andaz is conveniently located almost midway along the main Sanur beach road (Jalan Danau Tamblingan) so you can explore left and right from the front of the property. Lots of little shops, spas, bars in easy walking distance. November is getting into the start of the wet season which we found wasn't a problem at all. The Andaz had lots of bright umbrellas all around the property and we made sure we had one with us if we were out during the afternoon rain shower. As strange as it might sound, we loved being at a beach property during the afternoon rains, snuggled among lots of vibrant green foliage throughout the Andaz. Nice to watch the showers pass with a few happy hour drinks from the beachfront Fisherman’s club 😊
If you're looking for a funky property to stay at in Sanur, we would highly recommend the Andaz for a delightful stay. The Hyatt Regency Sanur is just next door as well and the Andaz shares a few facilities with them such as the Shankha Spa & Wellness centre.

On this trip, we stay at several 4/5 stars hotels, at a different location di Bali. But among those, we find Andaz is the best one.
1st of all, we really like the ambiance. like a forest in the middle of Bali. Even though the weather was quite hot & humid, but with trees & plants surrounding the premises, the weather was nice & cool.
The room where we stay, is very spacious & love the bathroom. The bathroom floor is coarse, and this will prevent anyone to slip, really love this. And also they provide small chair to sit in the bathroom.
Their attention to detail for guest convenience, is really amazing.
We also enjoy there's a spot where we can sit down, relax & they provided free drinks & snacks for guests.
And they offer free bike rental. Trust me, riding a bike along the Sanur Coast, in the morning, is a really enjoyable experience

Upgraded to their King Bed Premium as a Globalist as all their suites were taken. Plenty of workers to help with luggage, checking in, restaurants, etc. The hotel was very quiet and serene the entire time and it didn’t feel like there were a lot of guests staying. Their customer service was impeccable and requests through WhatsApp were answered almost immediately majority of the time. The front desk staff would greet me by my name every time I’d see them, which was very nice. The room was extremely spacious. It had a living room, bedroom, two bathrooms (one with a bidet and seat warmer), double sink bathroom with vanity mirrors, bathtub for two with a rain shower, huge closet space, and plenty of natural lighting. Every area can be opened or closed off for more privacy, which was a nice touch. Two zoned heating/AC. USB charging ports. The property had three public pools, from which one was an infinity pool right next to the beach. It was a very large pool and it rarely had more than 5 people in the pool the entire 4 hours I was there. You could also order from their nearby restaurant, but it was hard getting a hold of a waiter from the umbrella area. There were a couple of restaurants on site, but because they were all extremely overpriced compared to what you can get at the rest of Sanur Beach. They had a lot of free complimentary activities during the day for guests and some paid yoga/Pilates classes. They even had free bikes for rentals. I also had one of their massages at their spa that’s linked with Hyatt Regency and despite it being twice to three times more expensive than massages I can get in the area, it was the best massage I’ve received the entire time I was in Bali. There were also live performers every night I was there, which was a nice touch for people who are eating at their restaurants or people who want to have music while relaxing in their courtyard. Overall, I’d say Andaz Bali exceeded all my expectations and I highly recommend staying their if it’s within your budget. It’s definitely one of the more expensive hotels, especially for what you can get elsewhere at Sanur Beach, but what you’re paying for is their above and beyond customer service in a modern setting that’s mixed with Balinese culture.

When you arrive there you’d immediately feel the warmth of the personnel. Very efficient check-in, very nicely and luxuriously appointed bedroom, which is actually a smart room. It detects when you come into the room and turns on the light and airconditioning automatically. Toilet bowl cover is heated. All lighting is avant-garde LED.
Breakfast is superb. Try the Wok Wok restaurant for lunch.
My wife and I will definitely stay there again. More pricey than the next door Hyatt Regency but the service is personalised and cleanliness of the whole property is second to none from what we have seen in Bali.
Needless to say: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Finally have the opportunity to visit the first Andaz in Indonesia. As other Andaz I’ve visited, this Andaz incorporated the local culture to the resort itself, it felt like a Balinese village with great gardens and magnificent ocean view. Thanks to Sisca for showing me around the property, the room is very spacious and had huge balcony, the room size is probably bigger than most of room size around the area. The garden are very well kept, it must have have been lots of works in order to maintain huge garden landscape like Andaz Bali have. Visited one of the outlet for late lunch called Fisherman, thanks to Arini for assisted me during my lunch, the food is great especially with the ocean view and ocean breeze as accompany. Can’t wait to visiting again when all the outlets are open. Heard that they had great breakfast too, might try it some other time.

+1
Our recent stay at Andaz Bali was an amazing experience. The staff, facilities and food was fantastic.
Upon check in, we received an upgrade to a king deluxe room. The room was large and had a beautiful balcony that overlooked the tranquil santhi pool. However, after our first night we had issues with our TV.
The hotel staff were quick to help, and moved us to a king premium room on the ground floor that walked out into the Santhi pool. It was magnificent. The room had 2 bathrooms, 2 TV’s with chromecast ability, a large seating area and a huge balcony.
Breakfast was served in village square. You could choose anything you wanted off the menu, and unlimited amounts. We ate lunch and dinner at fisherman’s club which was also really nice. We also walked next door to the Hyatt regency and ate there. It is an easy 5 min walk along the beach or through internal private walkway.
What made our stay most amazing was the staff. Upon arrival, Daya and Dewa were super accomodating and showed us the resort and the room. When we had the tv issue, daya upgraded us to a king premium room to help alleviate the stress of moving. It was no big deal moving, and we were so happy with the upgrade and the manner in which the issue was dealt with. Agus by the pool, also deserves a special mention for being so nice to us and always grabbing towels and drinks for us when needed.
Andaz Bali is truely the best hotel we have ever stayed at. And we can’t wait to come back to andaz Bali on a more regular basis!!

I believe they both have 2 bathrooms - a more standard bathroom and a bathroom with a wet area with soaking tub and rain shower head.. The deluxe has extra room in the living area.
"Experience the hotel restaurants bordering the Village Square before venturing out. Suites with a balcony overlooking the ocean good value."Read full review
