Detailed Reviews
Bali, like most part of the world relying mainly on tourism, has experienced such a difficult time; but the Alantara Sanur has shown such humbling resilience, What we loved the most in our stay were the bedroom design, size & thoughtful placing of furnitures, cleanliness and the bed which was sooo… comfy; along with the beautifully decorated swimming pool!
Breakfast was included in an ala-carte setting & was very good. The only downside is there was the same selection sets every day and for our 5 days’ stay, it is pretty normal to get bored. However, limited selections available in F&B was also quite understandable during a very quiet time such now.
Hoping to come back for another stay when Bali, esp. the Alantara Sanur, comes out of this difficult time stronger & better.
Om shanti 🙏🏻

We had a pool villa which was had amazing facilities and very comfortable with typical Balian decor.
The staff were truly helpful and friendly at all times of the day. The breakfast menu was excellent and you could mix n match all the options. The main pool was beautiful with a bar service during open times. There was entertainment every evening which was typically Balian. The hotel has WhatsApp so you can always be in touch. Our daughter paid for a cooking class as a treat and this was so informative and included a trip to the local food market. Well worth the money.
The courtesy car service to both the beach and local supermarket were friendly and efficient. The supermarket is on on a long strip of shops and restaurants of every type. We used the Spa for a massage twice and could not recommend it more highly especially after the long flight.
Overall it was a restful and peaceful place to spend time. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Alantara the staff were great and very helpful the free shuttle was very convenient as it can be a bit difficult crossing the bypass (we called cross of death). Ordered room service our first night and the food was delicious and very well priced. The pool was another highlight with the swim up bar. Only negative was the layout of the room was a little awkward as the bathroom is only seperate from the bedroom by a curtain and having a sink in the middle of the room is a little odd but apart from that it was a great stay. Thanks Alantara

The Alantara is a visual feast, beauty abounds in the smiling caring staff and the careful lay out of the hotel amid tropical flowering trees. The setting is peaceful, so we were rather taken aback by the piped music that tends to blast forth from breakfast into the evening. To be fair when asked the staff did turn it down and maybe it appeals to some. As vegetarians the menu was very restricted, but we were able to get out on the shuttle bus and by taxi very easily. We had a wonderful stay, the room was clean, cool and quiet and the beds comfortable.

We truly enjoyed our 4-night stay at Alantara. It is a cozy boutique hotel in the midst of tropical greeneries. Pros: kindest people who work there, all facilities are new and in great condition, good selection of local and western breakfast sets, beautiful pool area, great spa, shuttle bus, room service is done 2x day. The only downside that comes to mind is it’s location. Even though the hotel provides a very convenient shuttle service and getting to the center is not an issue, do not expect to find any sights within walking distance from the hotel. But this is largely compensated by affordable price compared to beach side hotels, so we are very happy with our choice.

From the second we arrived I knew this place was a winner, we have been travelling to Bali for many years and developed a sixth sense about places and areas. This was our first time in Sanur - a last minute booking for one night transiting from Lembongan to the airport. We had almost two full days and saw enough that will entice us back to the area and the hotel when we visit next. Every single staff member (from security, maintenance, students, housekeeping, literally everyone) is immaculately presented, smiling and genuinely willing to make people as comfortable as possible. I have not experienced this kind of Balinese hospitality in a long time. The grounds are beautifully kept, serene and peaceful. The food sensational. The evening entertainment was the soothing sound of a saxophonist poolside. They provide a free shuttle to and from town every 2 hours or it’s a $2 taxi ride. Our 6 year old loved the pool and the pool cushions (mum liked them too!!). The Spa is 10/10 providing a complimentary 10 min welcome massage on the day of arrival. The rooms are cosy and a good size for couples. The toiletries provided are Spa quality. The cleanliness everywhere is next level. I do not write reviews normally and I am not one to gush about hotels but this place really did exceed all expectations and I honestly cannot wait to get back there for some rest and relaxation. There was a mix of guests - families, couples, all ages, different nationalities. Being a small hotel, it is quite intimate, and so it’s best suited for people who just want to relax, be respectful and keep things simple and authentic. We booked two deluxe double rooms - 3 adults and 1 child.

Not as I expected when I arrived so was slightly disappointed, old and dated. However, the staff were super friendly and went above and beyond in their jobs to ensure we was happy, the bar staff would have conversations with us and make the effort to pay interest in us and the pool bar on a night was enjoyable and relaxing. Rooms were old and dated and needed a freshen up, felt slightly dirty, didn’t stay out on the balcony long as it was filthy and covered in cob webs and bugs, we had stayed in two previous hotels before this so had high expectations as this was higher cost however we took a shock we from we received for the price we paid plus we had paid for a upgrade to a deluxe room, if we had known the quality we would’ve stuck with the standard however wouldn’t know what to expect with that either.
Pool was nice, not as nice as the photos advertised though but what can you expect I suppose, although we was never tempted to get in, guess it just adds to the view.
Bathroom in the room was probably the only major point I enjoyed as it was cleanest part of the room and slightly more modern with a nice waterfall shower.

Just got back home after 18 nights in The Alantara.
It's a beautiful hotel with luxurious rooms and a very friendly staff who work real hard. Beautiful pool in a green garden with flowers.
Location in Sanur could be better, but the shuttle service brings you to the center and Gojek is also a great invention for cheap transportation.
When you stay longer in 1 place, some less points will be noticed. I think a 4 star hotel should serve good coffee at breakfast (also cappuccino) without extra charge. Also the beach towels had many stains. Management responded very proactive after our mail and was happy with the given feedback.
I definitely recommend The Alantara!

What a lovely experience! We had 6 nights at the Alantara. Beautiful grounds and pool and most of the friendly staff spoke fluent English. Room large and everything worked well. Breakfast was great and we even were treated to a New Year’s Eve dinner and traditional Balinese music and dancing. The hotel is in a quiet area of Sanur, not too far to the beach or shops, but we used the Gojek app to book taxis which were cheap and plentiful. It’s also possible to walk there. Thank you to the wonderful staff at the Alantara for a memorable holiday.

Hi there,
there is a shuttle going every 20 min close to the beach area where are also many restaurants. All dishes in the hotel are excellent, btw ;-)
Hi there. Virtually all of the rooms have a partial view of the pool area, however - the attraction of the pool and associated deck is the profusion of foliage and exotic plants, meaning you'll only ever have a partial view. If your thing is to see the pool in all its glory then get a first floor room.
Excellent hotel and you won't be disappointed
No, but they have villas
