Pro: Beautifully designed villas! Luxurious & quite affordable. Nice wedding venues too :) Big swimming pool. Comfortable & chill. Con: Some touchup especially for some of their plants could do good for this villa. Would we come back? Yes! My husband, myself and my 7 year old daughters had the pleasure of staying at The Samata in March 2020 in one of the two bedroom villas. Upon arriving, all we could say was - wow!! Everything was amazing! From the well equipped gym, to the beautiful swimming pools and the open air lobby. And that was all before we got to our room! Our 2 bedroom villa surpassed our expectations. Although the villas looked amazing in the photos, l was concerned about how true to life they would be. Trust me, the photos do not Ado the villas justice. Absolutely luxury! My daughters though they were princesses, having their own princess bed and a massive swimming pool all to themselves. The pool was by far a the most impressive feature, it was as big as any hotel swimming pool and more importantly, it was just for us! Next time we come to Bali we have all intentions of staying in the same villa, so l don’t want to give away our secret of which one it was! Rooms are spacious and well equipped. A highlight was the outdoor bath and showers - just beautiful! More than enough room for a family of 4. Although l did not realise that the two bedroom were not connected, you actually have to go outside (which was bit of a pain when it was raining) to get to the other bedroom. I am wondering if it is possible to have a covered walkway between the bedrooms, as having to go out at night when it was raining was not fun! . We all have intentions of coming back to The Samata on our next visit to Bali. It is worth every cent to stay here in the lap of luxury. Thankyou to all staff and stay safe during this difficult time.…
We stayed there for two nights in a two bed villa. The villas are spacious and very clean with private pools. Most villas have outdoor showers / baths. It's not necessarily a downside unless you are scared of bugs. The bedrooms'roof is made of straw which is aesthetically very pleasant but provides ample conditions for geckos to live in. We were woken up by a loud sound which continued repeating every 15 minutes. I first thought it was a broken fire alarm but later learned it was some kind of a gecko. There is an inhouse kitchen providing a limited menu. I think it's a big plus because most villas are self catering. By the way all villas have well equipped kitchens. The resort offers drop off facilities to Sanur town (15 minute drive). If you prefer villas, this is certainly a very good option for Sanur…
The Samata is a truly amazing place to stay! We are a family of 4 with two young girls aged 9 & 6 and we all loved our stay! We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa but it was more like 2 villas in a single gated compound, we couldn't believe the size of it! Two self contained villas, a private pool, an outdoor kitchen and multiple outdoor seating areas! The pictures do not do it justice! As well as the private pool there are also 3 other pools, an excellent gym, pool table, table tennis, tennis, basketball and darts. During our stay our girls took park in a private childrens cooking lesson which they thoroughly enjoyed and the head chef as well as his two apprentices were excellent and took great care of the children. We also had the private BBQ which was also excellent. All of the staff were amazing and took great pride in their work and made us feel a part of the Samata Family during our stay. The staff also spoke very highly of their manager Lisa which says a lot about the type people and relationship the management and staff have. Thank you once again for making our stay so memorable. My husband and I stayed at the Samata for 4 days in the low/rainy season. It only rained once or twice and didn't stop us from any of our plans, don't be discouraged! Everything about our stay was great. We were picked up from the airport in a very nice (air conditioned) van and greeted with cold water and cold towels. We stayed in a Spa Room, which comes with a daily in-room massage for each person. All of the massage therapists were great. They'd come to our room at the designated time with fresh cold juice and everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing massage. We had a coconut scrub one day which was wonderful to get rid of our dry winter skin (we are from the northeast US where it is cold). The room was very comfortable and we loved having a balcony to drink our morning coffee on. There were complimentary cold drinks in our fridge daily, and exotic fruits for us to try. There were lovely bath products to use, including bath salts, bubble bath, and flower pods for taking a bath, as well as soap, shampoo, etc. We are both sensitive to synthetic fragrances and these products were clearly all natural - they smelled great. The pools are lovely and I enjoyed a yoga class one day on the lawn next to the pool, surrounded by fallen flowers and warm breezes. We ate at the restaurant almost every day and the food was great. We took the free shuttle into Sanur and walked 10 mins from the middle of the town to the beach. Sanur beach is clean and the water is calm - it's great for swimming. There were people flying kites in the water, and fishing and surfing out farther than the swimming area. Lots to look at, but nothing to bother you if you just want a quiet time on the beach or in the water. There are shops and places to eat but it doesn't feel overrun in any way. Sanur is a quieter part of Bali than many other areas like Kuta, Ubud and Seminyak, and we really appreciated that - the Samata is tucked away and although near a big road, we didn't hear anything once we were there. Well, we did hear occasional roosters but that is just part of Bali! It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, yet we were close to lots of things to do and see. We wound up hiring a driver through the hotel to take us sightseeing (GWK, Ubud, Uluwatu Temple), which was affordable and very convenient. We felt very taken care of and pampered. It was a thoroughly relaxing experience and I can't wait to go back!…
